I love seeing men get excited as they always have. What a blessing this life is.
Much respect to that hunter. He respects the game and the land. That’s a real hunter right there and what a trip of a lifetime. Alaska is the real deal.
Cuz he can afford the hunt?
No he didnt hunt for the meat
jlcinternet, Not really sir. It is also sad to see so much meat being wasted here as well. It's like throwing away more than half of the bull's meat. What a waste. I'm more okay when someone really hunt for the meat to survive like the native people did in the old days rather than people just hunt for fun today. It's really unfair to the animal and that's how the bison disappeared when these white settlers came.
Thank you. And for the other comments ALL meat was taken, some organs, and the cull fat. This hunt was for the meat! As a hunter I always hope to take a mature animal.
Jim is a manly man’s man! I love when he’s in the shows.
It's one of my all-time favorite hunting videos now. Simple yet majestic. This man deserves this tag and the Bison he took. Congratulations sir. Hope before my time comes I can experience something like this.
Wow, what a hunt. I'm so happy for you guys. I feel so fortunate to come home from a hard day at work, kick my feet back, and watch a new episode of Fresh Tracks! Thanks guys!
Always Love the Episodes where Dr Jim Hunts! Especially when he is hunting with his Hawken Rifle!
Growing old and sitting at your balcony and enjoying the view and thinking about Life was... Thats my dream before i leave this world and meet my Lord
Your content is a thrilling testament to adventure and the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Each video captures the essence of your epic float hunt for bison, showcasing your skill, perseverance, and deep connection with nature. Your storytelling transports viewers into the heart of Alaska's rugged terrain, where every moment is filled with excitement and discovery. And I am Floating Village Life
Congratulations Jim, that was an epic hunt. Marcus you did your usual great job of capturing the essence of the hunt. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Congratulation for what? Killing a big bison just for the horn and throwing away more than half of the bison's meat is considered okay for most white hunters? What a waste. That's how these beautiful bison disappeared when the white settlers came. It would be more okay if someone hunt the animal for the meat to survive like those native people did in the old days. Think about it. Just like when someone's trying to shoot you because they want to steal your Nike Shoes.
It shows how rare it is to get a tag that Jim isn’t using his Hawkins.
Great Hunt, Thanks for taking us along.
Hawken my guy. Guessing your dad had one when you were growing up and you heard the term but never read it. They're awesome.
Paige & Jeff, you two are a real hoot together. I sure enjoy watching y'all's adventures together!!!....
Sincerely, the old Montana cowboy,
Frank Scherping❤😊❤
That was really unique! I've never seen a float trip for bison. Jim also did an amazing job narrating the episode! Thanks for sharing!
what an adventure! I can only hope that if I draw a tag at his age, I will be able and willing to go as far and as deep as he did. Much respect. As for the guy wearing the mask?......well, anyway.
Beautiful place to hunt, great film, lucky 1st shot, great 2nd shot.
Nice bull, it looks like you may have hit the bottom loin. What did you hit with the first shot? Great episode.
Compliment sandwich
What a fantastic trip you must have had with you hunting mate epic hunt. Mark. NewZealand.
Thank you for sharing! It must be magnificent. I am dreaming to have a hunt.
Awesome, congratulations guys on a successful hunt 👍👍
Awesome! Good hunt. Over the border in Yukon we have wood bison on an OTC tag. It’s my favourite hunt outside of sheep, got my 10th bison last winter.
Damn!! In the lower 48 it is almost impossible to get a tag.

Absolutely awesome. Thanks Jim .
Pretty awesome hunt the float on the river fresh air good food & the shot that counts ! Very beautiful country when you spend time on the water 👍
Outstanding episode. I could feel the excitement Jim had when the bull was done.
Great hunt. Marcus. Your the man when it comes to capturing the "feeling" of that hunt . Awesome bison.
Dream trip
A top notch hunt and video, thanks so much for taking us along!!!!
Jim, Marcus and team you consistently impress me with your drive, knowledge and professionalism. I learn every episode.. thank you!
Boatloads of fun! Thanks for sharing the adventure.
enjoyed your pronghorn hunt, northern nevada has some cool places, whether its unit 32,34,12,or11,, numbers except for horses seem to be down though
Great adventure and excellent job sharing it with many who appreciate the hunt in wild places and who also dream of experiencing it some day!
When you hunt and take every thing for meat to survive than it's okay but when you hunt a big animal like that just for the horn and only keep a few pounds of meat? What a waste. That's how those beautiful bison disappeared when these white settlers came. Just speak the facts, not a hate comment.
CONGRATS all around. You worked hard for that one.
hunt of a lifetime🙏
Thanks so much for sharing your bison hunt nice job 👍 🎉
Bison 🦬 DOWN , great video. Place for fresh onions 🧅 and a cast iron fry pan . Honda outboard engine be need on the raft 😊 for getting around the river . 😊 place for me and my skinning knife 🔪 and steel sharpening tool .
Every time you make one of these videos I think about buying an Alpacka inflatable kayak.. but I (finally!) Found a Sportspal canoe, so I'm all set for a float trip.. at least for now 😂
This was great...wow...truly incredible
Congrats on a great hunt

That hunt was begging for a muzzleloader.
Incredible footage... like I was on the hunt with you!
I was a wilderness raft guide in idaho for many years. Selway, middle fork and main salmon. I always have dreamed of hunting from a raft as transportation

Sir why you left the meat... Don't waste the nature
i pulled the fairwell bison hunt for this September
When was this hunt filmed?
Around 2018 he said at the 1:46 mark that had hunted this 4 years ago
@@allenwilson9656 weird. Covid didn’t hit until end of 2019/2020
This was hunt filmed in the fall of 2022.
@@allenwilson9656 the hunt was filmed fall of 2022.
I just don't understand how an average person could even afford special hunts like that. they are not like your local deer tag
There's nothing about this that's average, that's why it's so exciting to watch. If this guy was just getting groceries or paying the phone bill, it wouldn't be worth the massive resources that go into producing the film. Enjoy it!
I am an average person that chooses to afford hunts like this. You can do it yourself for a lot less than you think. I have been doing hunts like this for over 30 years and know what is required.
Men with guns hunting an innocent animal, no wonder there getting less and less in the wild, I hope your all proud of yourselves.
He took a mature bull that was out of the herd more likely no breading bull. Take a mature bull by ethical hunter that took for meat 🍖 to feed his family and friends for over few months on clean meat is why we hunt not store bought it's raised in gods and lords 🙏 mother nature.
Repost, the same response. Why a rifle cover when in camp you trow it arouns like a piece of firewood? Good filming and work Marcus.
Product placement maybe? There's a lot of gear on display in this episode that I don't need but would love to buy if I could figure out a way to rationalize it to my auditor general.
It's too keep debris from messing things up.
22:05, save yourself some time. Decent video but it’s entirely too long
Did this guy draw bison tags in Alaska 2 years in a row? Fresh Tracks posted a series of videos 10 months ago with him on a bison hunt. Just trying to clarify if this is two different hunts.
No. He drew one in 2012 also.
This is the same hunt. We released the Day-by-Day Series last year, and this is a Fresh Tracks episode. The Fresh Tracks episodes take longer to edit, and we incorporate more music, storytelling, conservation, and other things into these "Fresh Tracks" episodes. Day-by-days are linear and about how the hunt plays out with little to no music, no interviews, minimal color corrections, and are meant to be more raw, giving the audience a feeling of being on the hunt with the host. We have found that some people like to see the hunt play out in multiple episodes (Day-by-Day) and some people really enjoy everything in one episode (Fresh Tracks Episodes). So we do both! Typically Day-by-Days come out first as they take less time to edit. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for watching and supporting Fresh Tracks!
@@Fresh_Tracks Hey, thanks for getting back to me. This one of my favorite channels.
@@Fresh_Tracks so what year was this filmed?
I've never heard anything about Alaska having Buffalo
There are 4 huntable herds of Plains Bison that were transplanted here (from Montana I believe). The first transplant was about 100 years ago now. He was hunting one of those herds in this video. Wood Bison were native to Alaska, but were wiped out a very long time ago. The state acquired some from the Yukon awhile back and have been working on re-introduction efforts.
Get married have kids and pass the taxidermy down to them
@22:12 What in the 🤬 is that? The meaning of what he yells? I'm not asking everyone else to respond/reply, I'm asking this bearded person.
Meat kill 😮
I'm not I'm not really sure about the I'm sorry brother at the you just blew two holes through its heart
Congratulations
Ik hes trying to emulate native spirituality but you simply don't say your sorry to an animal you've taken. Its not just their choice but its their time, just be thankful lmao.
who gives a crap dude
As a hunter myself you thank the animal for giving it's life. You thank the Lord for the meat on the table. Always thank ke Akua. You don't need to mimic a Native to show respect and thanks for an animal giving it's life. That is why we are hunters. Not wannabe hunters. 🤙🤙🤙🤙
@@johntim8324 you must, the way your being disrespectful to the person.
@@808Cummins he couldnt help himself. He got a bison tag and started feeling like tatanka lmfao
What’s key is if the hunter respects the animal by fully utilizing what he has harvested. That’s how you thank it.
