- The hunt of a lifetime. My childhood dream hunt was always to go to the Cassiar region of British Columbia to hunt mountain Caribou. In this episode of Fresh Tracks, I get to fulfill that dream and get to hunt Moose as well, making the trip even more special.
Heading to northern British Columbia we cover miles and miles of country on horseback scanning the tundra for a mature mountain Caribou. The landscape is beautiful, harsh, memorable and exceeds my expectations that I set as a young boy reading an article about mountain caribou in my school library.
This hunt was about fulfilling life-long dreams. Let this episode be an inspiration for you to go and chase that dream of yours; no matter what it is.

Your quotes towards the end struck a chord with me. "We all have dreams. You have a dream. Go do that." "Hunt when you can. You're gonna run outta health before you run outta money." Thanks Randy.
Truer words....

I’m glad you showed how shit happens, instead of editing. This is true hunting. Nothings ever perfect.
Caribou Are such beautiful animals. Even when you hunt them you almost have to stop just to admire how majestic they are
There's something just magical about a full Fresh Tracks episode instead of the day by days. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Blitz I didn’t know you were interested in this but cool
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Cant tell you how much your sharing your journey means to some of us aging outdoorsman. All your pains, and aches, are like a clock ticking for all of us counting down to the last hunt. 67 and just booked my first guided caribou and elk hunts for this fall. Keep on keeping on. Scott
Many people go through life with a hope and a desire to fulfill their dream of a lifetime but never achieve that dream for one reason or the other. Congratulations Randy on fulfilling your dream! Thank you very much for sharing your accomplished dream with all of us! Regards.
One of the best shows I've seen in a long time
Randy is an inspiration, I'm 60 years aged, I believe I can still go the distance after seeing Randy go hard. Thanks Randy, Kalispell here.
The day Mr. Newberg stops making videos is the day I stop watching hunting videos. Thanks for all the great years of quality experiences.
he is the kind of man that sheds light on hunting
Nobody I'd rather watch than Mr. Randy Newberg
Fresh Tracks has always been my favorite show to watch, Thanks Randy
Hey Randy, I will be 49 in November of 2022, and like you I have been dreaming of going to the wilds of Alaska to hunt Caribou since I was in my single digits, and this fall it'll finally happen!! Thanks for all of your inspiration. I cannot tell you the emotion and excitement I have as I write this message on your video post. I posted on one of your more recent videos of my bucket list hunt... and this one will be with my son and daughter. Thank you, thank you!!
That's probably the best hunting videos I've ever seen in my young life. The cut of the video, music, visuals. Just perfection!
The beginning gave me goosebumps.
Thanks for the kind comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
Dang; what an incredible show. The emotion in your face after shooting that caribou was priceless. What a great show. Dreams dreams……👍👍
one of your best episodes in my opinion. I love that country. Have had the privilege of seeing it and hunting and have to say "it majestic" just simply amazing. Often told my friends, "you can hear a Nat fart two miles away there" unless you have been in that country you would never understand.
This was a great hunt that fell in place, I'm so happy for you ! So glade you take us with you . Thanks a million Randy .
I love the way you give thanks to the animal that gave himself to you, I have done the same and taught our children the same tradition. Some of the most Spiritual moments in my life, came while Riding my horse or walking the mountains and badlands of British Columbia. May you have many more Sir.
For some reason I find myself with a big grin on my face while watching this. Here's to living the dream!!! Get out and do those dream hunts. You will never look back and wish you had the money back.
I would say this is the best hunting video I have seen to date. The hunt, scenery, people, animals, country and production were spectacular. We’ll done. Thank you.
Great job Randy.
I loved your aspect of hunting your dream.
You've opened my eyes to true dedication and determined spirit.
I'm 53 and still believe I can reach my dream too; a Roosevelt elk.
I see hundreds weekly living in protected areas 418 and 437 in NW WA.
So, with seeing your video, I DO realize I can with dedication.
Thank you for your stewardship of hunting our blessed lands.
This is, without a doubt, one of the best hunting films I`ve ever seen! The landscape, the people and the hunt - it all seems spectacular! JUST WOW!
All I can say is that hopefully I get to go to a magical place like this to hunt someday.
Great video for a great hunt.
An inspiration to make better videos of the hunts I get to go on.
Thank you for this!
Thank you for forwarding the link for this one!
Loved it!
That`s the dream brother! 🤞
🔥🔥🔥
Randy, I've been following your adventures for a long time, & I watched the day by day of this hunt, & remember thinking to myself, that this is a once in a lifetime adventure, & how much fun you were having. Today as I watch this I'm completely amazed at how well this story is cinematically, & emotionally presented. By far my favorite Fresh Tracks/Randy Newberg video to date. Thanks for sharing 👍
The quality of your hunts is untouchable sir - great to watch and very respectable. So life like I feel like I am there - Hats off and 10 stars on a five star review, great job
People who are against hunting and think it’s cruel need to watch Randy’s videos
Congrats Randy! Glad you represent us hunters so well in our honor and pursuit of wild places and wild animals. Beautiful country and footage. Great job Marcus
This is byfar the best hunting video I ever seen,it's so good I watch it at least once a year
Glad you enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
Awesome hunt. So happy for you to be able to live out a lifetime dream.
Much respect for how you thank the animal for giving its life for you. That is how it ought to be. You, Sir are a true Sportsman.
One of the best hunts I’ve ever watched. Thanks for sharing your dream...
Wow Ive been there 2 times in those mountains. I really didn`t realize how blessed I am to be able to go there not only once but twice. I hunted only for moose and my buddy hunted for caribou grizzlie ,moose and mountain goat. Ive seen all of those in one day. A bonus was a wolverine I called in to 40 yards. It wasn`t shot but very cool to call it in with my voice squeek. Those mountains call my every fall since. I could have gone back 2 years ago and didnt take up the offer. Maybe next year . My buddy lives in BC and we grew up together in Ontario when we were young. Memories of a lifetime for sure. Great video Randy.
You know the intrigue. I hope you go again.
That moment when you see how tough these animals are, then see a Alaskan mountain man drop a moose one shot with a 30-30 at 120 yards. This world is an amazing place. Great hunt Randy.
I love to see anyone do something they have dreamed of their whole life congratulations.
The look on your face after shooting that caribou is just awesome. You look like a kid on Christmas morning. I was so happy for you!! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thank you. It was 40 years of dreams coming true before my eyes.
This has to be the 4th or 5th time I’ve watched this hunt over the last year. It helps me refocus and remember my goals. It encourages me to continue forward and to dream. Thanks Randy to you and your team.
Glad you enjoyed it
Could not have happened to a better fella. Thanks for all you do Mr. Newberg!!! I have never hunted big game, but your humility to the hunt is inspiring. Welcome to Canada!
SUCH A GOOD PRODUCTION! Loved this episode! Brings back memories. I had a great time with that crew when I was there. Solid folk. 💯
You make me feel lucky to live here again. Thanks. Sometimes I forget how special this place is.
What a tough Bull there Randy. Have to admire the strength of these creatures. Big respect and even bigger reward.
I just wanna say that you may not realize it maybe you do but I’m disabled and will never get to go on the hunts you do but watching your shows I get to live the hunt as if I’m there. Please keep it up and god bless. I hope you continue the hunt sir and continue to have great memories in the field.
We don't plan on stopping! Thanks for the kind words and we can't wait to produce more content for you!

Quality hunt quality people, thanks for letting me go on your hunt with.
Loved this video. The honesty, the extremely hard terrain and the beautiful thanks you gave for the animals. Randy you're such an inspiration to so many hunters. Thank you for sharing this with us. Congratulations
“...So I did” I love it.
Dear Randy; thanks a lot for this fantastic video; I just want to add that some years ago I had the good fortune of going for similar hunt in the Yukon (sheep and caribou). I had the exact same feelings you describe. This is why I can assure anyone
your video is authentic and sincere. Thanks again. Martin Valles, Barcelona, Spain.
What an amazing story and hunting experience. Congrats to you Randy and Jim. Thank you for sharing that awesome journey with us. Again congratulations
Absolutely outstanding Randy, you are truly blessed. Thank you for keeping our dreams alive as well.
Man, it does get any better than this....WOW......love me some Newburg
Long time subscriber here. What an awesome adventure, Randy! It’s those little things like shooting an antler off that makes the hunt much more memorable. When you’re an old man some day and no longer able to hunt, you’re going to think back on that ….and chuckle.
I had the pleasure to hunt the Cassiar Mountiains twice('13 &'14), they are beautiful. Got a great caribou the first year and struck out on moose the next.
Those mountain horses are something else, they can be your best friend!
I am a newbie to guns, never fired a or handled a gun other than a BB gun in my early teens. When I grow up I wanna be like you. I am just getting into the sport and got me a Benelli SBE 3. 12 ga. Soon I'll get a Lupo 308 since I already got a S&B riflescope. I am salivating at you enviable hunters on the videos I have been visiting.
So glad you are continuing to follow your dreams and glad you love the Cascades in Northern BC. having lived in Northern BC for years and loving it because it is so vast and wild and free, beautiful country great video thank you and stay safe
shout to the Kiwi guys and gals....🤗🤗🤗🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
best video I've seen in years it's so inspiring and majestic....
Best hunting Vid I have ever watched
Hi, Randy. I ve been following you, here from Germany/ Bavaria and its a blast. I am also hunting here, but its totally different in Germany. Nice to see that kind of hunts in your Channel and learn from it. I also like the story s.
Thanks for that. Greeting and Weidmannsheil to ya
Dream come true! Great video, great hunt, congratulations!
What an epic adventure. I must go.
That’s a very nice Stag there at 11:30.
Congratulations.
A caribou stag is the only mounted trophy I have on my wall…
I think they are the most beautiful, most handsome animal in North America.
Even more, I was hunting out of my log cabin in Central Newfoundland,
And we always sign the wall “ the register’ , just like you to note significant events.
Lastly Randy, I think you would really enjoy a caribou hunt on snowmobile…
You got one heck of a smile randy...
See there! I told you hunting in the rain is great! Fog helps to hide you and rain covers your movements. Never saw the buck I’m after until hard rain and cool day like what you were in. There’s just something about rainy days that hunting gets real interesting. That was a special and successful hunt for you! Congratulations!!!
Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure. Awesome teamwork
What an incredible hunt so much respect for all of you your last words in the video really hit my heart when you said You have a dream go do that so Amazing thank you so much for saying that 🙌🏽
Wow these films and memories keep getting better
Wow! Just Wow! That is the stuff of dreams right there. Would so love to do that trip into the Cassia Mountains. Great to hear some good ole kiwi accents on your trip too Randy. Thanks so much for sharing such an awesome video. Love it!
Very good inspiration for all new hunters, great job 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼.
This hunt was the good karma you've spent years building coming full circle. Awesome hunt. Congratulations
Almost 72 & still dreaming ... & planning.
I'm 76 , hunted moose in Canada , and elk in CO. last year, was planing on going to Africa in July, until the virus shut us down , so will probably go to AK an Canada if Canada lets us in , this fall , also deer hunted in my home state of MI. and in GA.
Looks like another one checked off your bucket list. Good for you my friend. I hope your health continues good, so you can continue with your dreams. It's always a blessing to watch your videos. Take care.
Great video and great hunt. Randy living the dream. I love Randy"s respect for the animal.
Can’t be perfect every time, it happens. Thanks for giving love to the animal for its death. That is the mark of a true hunter, appreciating the animal in death and what it provides for you and your family. We hunters know it’s not about just taking an animal, it’s about game preservation and providing good healthy meat for your family. I wish more people could understand we don’t hunt just to kill.
What an absolutely amazing adventure. Holy smokes Randy I have tears in my eyes.
This is simply an outstanding episode! I watched the long-form program of this hunt: it is wonderful how you have distilled and honed a short program from it. Well done! Emmy for all!
Dreams do come true! Wonderful hunting trip for all that was involved. Tough terrain with tough weather conditions and smiles a mile wide! Top notch video.
Marcus is right hunting in the rain works.. that’s what ya get that high speed rain gear for 😁 there’s no crying in hunting
"Marcus looks like he ran away from home and grabbed whatever he could... LOLOL
I love your videos so much!! Absolutely amazing content and you are so genuine. Amazing hunt of a lifetime congratulations sir!!
This is my favorite episode!!!!!
Congratulations Randy and a total inspiration on fulfilling your dream
Just a superb clip/movie. Thanks!
Can’t wait for 2024! I’m going up for a moose caribou combo.
Randy, I watched the day by day and thought this was an excellent story of a once in a lifetime hunt. Then I got to meet you at the Gerber booth at SHOT Show. Now Watching it again in one full length episode was just as good as the last time. Keep doing what you do for as long as you can do it. You're truly living the dream.
This is the best episode you have ever done!
The quote at the end couldn't be any more true. Great video.
Randy that was certainly moving brother! Great show!

Awesome hunt🤗👍. I can see the joy in your smile. As a hunter we don't always make a perfect shot. We are just human. Just beautiful to see a true hunt! CP here
I watched the day-by-day videos as well. They are both great videos! Nice job Randy and crew.
Super happy for you Randy! Call it luck if you will but you are one of the most deserving guys! Congrats!!
New sub. The most incredible hunt I have ever seen. The scenery, the tough slugging, the kills and the people, wow. What great energy, absolutely amazing.

Random Kiwi chick’s always turn up where you least expect them.
This is a great hunt , really enjoyed watching 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Randy, thanks for sharing a real-life adventure with this displaced whitetail hunter from Western NY watching now from Thailand!
I miss the cool/cold weather and hunting almost every w-e Sept-Nov., but mostly rabbits & pheasant, and then hopefully a whitetail, most within an hour of home.
Love this video. So happy for Randy to fulfill a dream, and to do it in such an amazing way!
Glad you enjoyed it!
