First Wash in 3 Years Plymouth SuperBird

- This is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird with an automatic and white interior. It has a 440 Commando and has been sitting under a cover in a collection for a few years. It will soon be up for sale and requires a full paint correction as there are swirls, water spots, and brown tar stains that need to be cleaned and restored. By disaster vehicle restoration standards, this clearly has no dead animals, smelly, moldy, gross interiors, but for a super rare SuperBird it qualifies as a filthy full detail in my mind. There is a huge before and after satisfaction and gratifying reveal and drive so watch until the very end. We performed a paint correction with full compound and polishing. Once done we applied AMMO Reflex Pro to the exterior and Gelee Pro to the wheels for insane reflection and paint coating protection. For a full list of products visit www.ammonyc.com. @Poose McPoose did you have a stroke?
The Superbird is my dream car
“They said they’d like it clean” *wipes off autograph*
Lol
Not gonna lie I was really curious how Larry was going to clean the signature.
@@AMMO-NYC hey where’s the barn find in this video? I think I missed it.

My first thought
He’s so giddy with the horn. I LOVE his reaction. This thing is worth even MORE now that Larry put his hands on it.
Kiss up much?
It really should
@@zelok3657 bitch wut
I would be giddy af too 😭 honestly it’s worth value knowing that Larry detailed it. There’s no doubt about that
It is just so unbelievably satisfying and fascinating seeing a over 50 years old car in such pristine and clean condition.
Really never gets old. One of my favourite type of detail videos.
Awesome video Larry!
Such a sick car, and great video. Love your content Larry!
you guys are everywhere lol much love from australia
Yes
I hope the car get well soon

i'm a huge fan of old cars and seeing this makes makes me happy
Wife is from the Danbury/Brookfield area! Definitely want to visit this place when we're up there!
I had the honor of seeing one of these up close and personal a few years ago. Incredible machine.
Wow wow wow! Andy Hill has been a firemen at a bunch of different departments. We have had many conversations about life and being a gentlemen. He actually got me into detailing years ago. He recently retired and the last time I saw him about 3 years ago he told me he was starting a car business which was a very deep passion of his. Now he’s on Ammo, well done Andy very proud to call you a friend!
Stuff like this is sooo much better than any show on network tv. Great job Larry I always learn something
I absolutely love the Superbird and Charger Daytona, 'presence' is the perfect word. Great job, it looks amazing. I wish we had more homoligation specials now, imagine the beasts we could have on the road.
I don’t know how you can use the term bar find for a superbird that was owned by someone and lovingly stored for years. That term has come to mean nothing anymore.
Yeah, detailing youtubers are clickbaiting us with "barn finds" so often every car in a garage is a "barn find". I saw some guy throw some dust and hay over an E30 and call it a "barn find", just for content and views.
First wash in 3 years? It hasn't been dirty in 3 years.
Yeah really anoying, because real barn finds ar extremely satisfying to see beeing detailed
If you want real barn finds go visit WD Detailing, they often have real cars that have been neglected for a long time
The thing about real barn finds, is that they shouldn’t be detailed. They should be kept original because the idea is they have been sitting unmolested for years. Otherwise they are just project cars that need work.
just unique and beautiful PLYMOUTH SUPERBIRD
This is a crazy rare car, when I was on the bus going home from school, I saw one of these just sitting in a garage and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Beautiful car.
You should look into acoustic panels for your studio or look for someone that could help you put them in key spots to try and stop the noise from bouncing off the walls so much, your ears will really appreciate it, keep up the amazing work!
This is a really good recommendation.
"First wash in 3 years.."
Regular non-car people: "wow, you're really looking after it!"
It's really good that people have the money to collect amazing cars like these and preserve a piece of history. As they saying goes, they don't make them like they used to and some of these old designs are just incredible.
That's a sweet ride!
Not as nice of a rides as you guys restore you take cars that most people would say Are more trouble than they are worth it and you prove them wrong keep doing what you do CT

At the start I was like - that’s not even dirty, but then what Larry did to it - amazing!
16:20 I really like the brown Plymouth in the background, it is one of my favourite cars!
I have been detailing since 1977 started at a local dealership near my home . Had a old school body man there mentored me on a rotary polisher helping him in the evening
I have been detailing and paint correction ever since.
There are 4 You tubers in my opinion that are informative and there production quality is spot on
Your one of the 4 people
Young people today need to know more of step by step processes to make the vehicle POP! Great work 👍
I love your genuine enthusiasm and appreciation for this rare bird. High-dollar exotics are special but wing cars are next-level bonkers.
Love the channel. As an ex Tomb Guard, I find detailing and polishing cars cathartic. Your eye for detail and commitment to the craft is exemplary.
Stay behind the chains lol
A guy down the road from me has one in white and surprisingly drives it regularly, such a badass ride!
Old cars have so much charisma and presence. They had soul unlike all the generic cars of today that are no doubt miles ahead of these in terms of comfort and reliability but they are a commodity, a tool to get from A to B.
Would be so badass if you had a start up and maybe even a rev clip of the cars you detail, would be another thing to look forward to when watching these gems.

Some of my Dad's favorite stories are about detailing cars as a teen and having people let him drive the cars, specially the Chiropractors Corvette. We are both named Larry but that is not why I have been following your methods since you were on the Drive channel. Thank you, Larry!
What an experience to be able to go back in time with this car! You did a stellar job too! Looks just gorgeous! I was 5 yrs lid when this car was born and remember seeing them in dealerships! Very few and far between but they we're there.
Yes, thanks. Interestingly,my 1970 CORONET 500/loaded/RalleynRed Black Vinyl, was some $3100.00 full , I am thinking the SULERBIRDS WERE many times a lot more, besides I did not really like them, seeing one in downtowns parked…..I think some dealers redone ,& discounted , anything to move them later on .. to long, etc.
One of my all time favorite cars. That horn is amazing
I can remember seeing a super bird driving on a public road. It was crazy even back then.
Up until a few years ago, where I live there were a couple of guys that had matching super birds. They would regularly drive them on the weekends and park beside each other when they would park. It was an amazing sight to see 😁
I could not agree more with you- this car did indeed turn out absolutely amazing! Wonderful job ! Keep up the great work Bud!
One of the most beautiful cars to have ever been made
I watch these videos all the time at work they’re sooooooo satisfying, I need to try using some of these products
WHAT. A. CAR. Thanks for bringing us Larry!!
I liked the video before i even watched it. Thats how good this guy is he never disappoints
I'd love to have someone as passionate as you detailing my golden 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. Awesome work again!
I would KILL for that garage. I know people say that as an expression, but I would literally KILL FOR THIS garage. wow.
Coolest car seen seen on this channel. More quirky cars like this rather than super cars.
That glossy orange color is mesmerizing. Amazing work.
This video is awesome! Larry finally detailed my classic dream car!!!
At first I was like how could you make this look better it looks great already! Thanks for always proving me wrong , wow that pops insanely
My dad sold his Superbird just over two years ago now.. gotta say. I miss it more and more everyday
OMG, I love you man. Most people will never understand the techniques you describe.
Saw two of these side by side manual and auto at a show recently, but the paint on this one is just unreal deep. Amazing detail.
My superbirds regularly go three years between washes but that’s because I’m lazy. We drive ours all over, though. I work with high end cars every day, too, and you’re absolutely right that birds get more eyes every time.
So jealous of you driving that legendary piece of motoring history 👍👏
Saw this car for sale on Bring A Trailer. Fabulous work.
Your production value is through the roof! Well done!
I remember when I was a kid a guy in my hometown of Barnwell, SC had a neon green one that he drove around town. It turned heads even back then, and they still do today.
Thanks for making the state of Connecticut proud! Your work is amazing!
I saw a blue superbird on the road several years back, it was stunning.
That car came out when I was 14 years old and I remember taking trips to the dealerships in Seattle, Washington on my bike just to take a look at it.
One of my all time favorite cars! It'd just so long, aerodynamic, and fast for it's time. It completely changed aerodynamics in NASCAR
Today we are using detailing brushes and dedicated soaps coated with knoledge on these awesome pieces, back in the 80's it was probably washed with a floor broom dipped in a dishsoap and tapwater bucket.
Finally. Someone stores a car and puts a cover over it. About time.
I remember when Larry just started this channel. He’s been so solid for forever. Stoked he’s made it so far!
It really has become quite epic.
Your enthusiasm is contagious!!! 🤝
Larry you're living and driving the dream...
This guy can detail a already detailed car .👍🏻
This is one of two dream classic cars for me...
One of the coolest cars you've detailed by far!
Dudes numbers are slightly off, according to the Superbird registry. They estimate over 1900 were made, about 1200 known to exist. And of those, about 400 were 4 barrel 440 w/ autos. More were possibly made. Six pack 440 autos is half of that number.
He manages 3 huge garages. I think that little mistake is acceptable
BLAH BLAH BLAH
Superbird is in my top 3 favorite cars! 🤙🏼
Ive watch your channel for years, ive seen you clean basic every day cars to legendary ones like the F40, but this one, ive never clicked so fast on a video
Great job Larry. This car looks great. This car is really an accumulation of everything a muscle car was striving to be, it was the top of the mountain before the eventual decline of power and style that would occur in the 1970s
I love and respect your videos... so much!!! Thank you for everything and all that you do!!!
You can tell the passion he has for this car when he was driving it back.
Just wow.. every video you release now is just so well done! I can't believe the production quality and entertainment you keep putting out! Looked like such a fun job! One thing I think would be cool to see in one video would be like a clock to show the actual detail time throughout the job. The videos being so well edited make it feel like its so easy and i know that its not! Thanks again for the amazing content Larry! - Paul
Face Hurts Smiling. Great job Larry. Keep doin' what you do. Equally excited for the next. Thank You once again.
Honestly these are really good at relaxing me and i have your videos on while i’m asleep
I would love to have a garage like this some day
Such a beautiful car along with the Daytona but all classics like those are such beautiful masterpieces.
Been in a binge with your videos lately
Thank you
Thx for watching!
The horn is what attracted me really if I listen to it live... but when you look at the car and it's that! Wow
That thing looks so awesome rolling down the street.
Just want to thankyou for showing us how to clean the raised lettering easily.
I dont remember Larry being this excited. Super happy for you bud!
Stunning paint on the Superbird!
Such a dream to be part of something like this one day! Enjoy every moment
Wow. It's just beyond the beyond.
That car looks absolutely stunning!!! Very well done!
I’ve always said if I could own a dream car without even a second of thought it would be a roadrunner super bird wow!!!!
That paint came out so good.
I'm 63 and had a chance to buy one when I was 18 it would have been my 1st car. My dad took one look and that was the end of that. I did wind up with a 1970 Charger SE instead I loved that car wish I still had it.
Hearing loss comes later in life. Abuse in youth will show in your 50’s. You will likely have some but wearing protect now and forward helps minimize. Young guys, protect yourself. You WILL pay in future. Don’t be the tough guy.
I've worn ear protection from day one detailing, vacuums and polishers are really loud, especially in close proximity and for long periods of time, I don't understand why more people don't bother.
Don’t tell me what to do
So true. Always wear PSA.

Dang ... jealous on many levels on this one .. the car , the paint , the rumble ,.. the car ... the shine .. the car .. :)
The biggest cause of industrial deafness is from compressed air either leaking or in constant use, so keep that in mind dude. Awesome channel!
cleaning and detailing it would be a honor
he is living the dream best wishes form Lithuania
That’s what it’s all about car fans!
Loved that orange super it's. It came out great.
That place is a heaven for car enthusiast.
Awesome story, a part of Americana history. Thanks.
Ohhh I get to watch Larry detail my dream car!!!
That warehouse is a heaven
What a fun car to work on…amazing results
I know I’m not the only one that chuckled at “unlubricated wipe” hehehehe
Hands down id say this car is in the top 3 sexiest and most badass American muscle cars ever made.
