To be honest, I really did find your channel from your "Reacting to kids reacting to Metallica" video. Your banter/reactions/commentaries are very entertaining.
Have you even listened to their albums? The reason i "love" Guns is because their music is so different, no song is like the other, sure appetite songs are pure hardrock but not all the same and the illusions albums are just 20 different types of genres of their own
Didn't make it out of the 80's, dude they went on a massive 3 year world tour for the UYI albums in the early 90's. On the UYI albums the variation is pretty vast, Breakdown, Coma, Yesterdays, Double Talkin Jive etc are not even slightly similar Also I do find the argument that many songs sound the same to be peculiar, especially when I would be willing to bet money that these people listen to regular radio pop in their normal lives which suffers exactly the same issue. I think it is more just a lazy way of disliking the music without being able to articulate properly why
First half is true, and they suffered from the same thing early led zeppelin did. Zeppelin had super similar songs in all there early (original, cause they did do covers) albums. But same with guns and Roses, they developed as a band and became something unique. The thing about guns and Roses is I personally don’t see tons of unique tone and technique, and while slash’s writing is great the rest of the band just wasn’t too new for metal or rock as a whole. But overall a great band nonetheless, and they certainly had some unique songs such as sweet child o mine which evidently wasn’t even influenced by other bands
All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ! not only that bit they act very ignorant Im not saying you need to listen to them but at list know them
Honestly this is probably the most honest reaction video I've ever seen, the fact that he keeps his calm when the kids make annoying comments makes it even better, keep it going dude!!!
I'm curious to your opinion as to them putting Mr. Brownstone in there...... I mean they don't get the lyrics... but.... Yowwwwwwwza...... if you get this reference then your a true GNR fan🤘🤘
Guns n Roses. I had them live on june 24th in Belgium and they were all amazing. It was the best show in my life. I was amazed by the energy they have at that age and Axl's voice live. A lot of people came there just to see them live. I've got some place in the front and people were all crazy pushing me trying to see better. I still have the songs in my head and I will never forget that show. It definitely worth the time.
If you are under 40 you probably don't get what Gun N'Roses was all about. It wasn't hair metal and makeup when they made it big, it was something new and exciting. They were so different from others rock bands of their time (rock/punk mix). They did what they wanted and said what they wanted and didn't care whether people liked it or not. You never knew what was going to happen next with those guys. Axl was alway unpredictable which always made things fun, Duff, Slash and Steven were usually so fucked up but they always managed to get through the shows. It was never a phoned in performance, they always put their heart and soul into it. That's what made them special. They don't make good rock or metal anymore. The last of the giants as they have been called.
I am 40, they came on the scene when I was 7, and even then I understood what their songs mean. Your making it sound like only those born in 78, can understand a band who debuted in late 80s....
is it just me or when they make reacts to celebrities like ariana grande and such they always tell the kids/teens/whatever the meaning behind of their crap songs (maybe to make them look less crap), but when it's a band like guns n roses or metallica they don't explain their meaning to the people watching so they think it's just "satan" music. that girl was shocked cause axl said "I wanna watch you bleed" in welcome to the jungle. they don't explain the meaning of the song. they could show them something like civil war, I think it's much more meaningful and they could understand that it's a song that is more a "no violence" type I guess.
The reason is this. Pop music barely has a meaning, it’s always either love, friendship, having fun, or a broken heart. Easy stuff that anyone can understand and relate to. Rock and Metal often talk about mature and darker stuff, with some exceptions of course, but it’s always more “adult” music
Maybe. It is probably the more popular version...for those who don't know Wings and have never seen the James Bond movie. They should have played "I Used To Love Her.." The song's actually about putting down a dog but it could have gotten some interesting reactions.
I clicked on this video already watching the Kids React to Guns and Roses and your reaction made me laugh SO much. You're truly a very smart entertaining guy PLEASE keep it man!
Cool video as always! I really like the way you set up your camera, so we see your room and the decoration. maybe just reposition the microphone a little bit so we can see your face better :)
The end solo of November Rain is fantastic. It's about as simple as can be, but awesome. I guess it's a good reminder to make sure the melody of your lead should be served by the technicality of it. Not vice versa.
About what you said about music used to tell stories, I think that is why my personal favorite band is Three Days Grace. Their songs, especially when Adam was the frontman, told a story about Adam's battle with drug addiction. I like musicians who can tell stories with their music as opposed to just making noise to make money (if that made sense).
You'd be wondering what's wrong with me lol. I have Guns N Roses tattoo I got when I was 17, I own Appetite For Destruction, Lies, Use Your Illusion 1 and 2, The Spaghetti Incident, and a Greatest Hits album as well as some shirts, Guns N Roses trading cards and postcards, a DVD of some of their music videos, a musicless CD talking about the history of the band, went as Slash for Halloween one year, had dreams about meeting them one of which I married Slash, and this past Saturday I went to a Guns N Roses concert (yes Slash was there and so was Duff lol) and it was one of the two best experiences of my life (the other being when I went to the Cook Islands with my class in high school). Now I can't stop telling everyone about the concert and every time I look at the stadium, which is almost every day, I can't help but wish I was still at that concert. I can't stop talking about how my throat was still sore the morning after the concert lol.
Don't forget the low slung Les Paul, as a central part of Slash's look. Soo Killer! There is no way I can shred on my Lester when it's hanging that low! ( I can barely reach around for a proper barre chord when my axe is hanging at or below belt level..!) BTW, that shows old Saul Hudson to be a better shredder than you at first think. First, he shredded on a Les Paul when everyone else were using faster n faster superstrats....and second, he did it slung so low, he could surely only be showcasing a fraction of his chops.
Just found your channel and I'm pretty happy about that. Really liked that reaction, I'm immediately going to see the other ones. You're pretty right about everything, man. \m/
That kid with the braces is the best thing on the Fine Bros. channel. Such a delight. Great video as always, man. I just found the channel and have been marathoning your stuff.
Awesome video once again Mike! In case you read this, what's your opinion about Muse? It's not what I assume would be your type of band but I think they are pretty interesting. Keep rockin' dude! \m/
Your 'facepalms' got me laughing so much. Watched this reaction on FBE and felt a lot like you. Several of the kids seemed to get it but others wanted nothing to do with it. Great reaction.
I can confirm, I came about the FBE reactions. I am still waiting for them to hit the teens with some Rammstein, ideally with subtitles so they know what these Germans are yelling about. I have to say, though, with Metallica they hit the kids with some pretty hard stuff, as opposed to ballads like Nothing Else Matters or the Unforgiven, with Guns´n´Roses they also played some pretty chill songs that are easy to get into even for people who do not listen to any metal or even hard rock.
It's cool how some of these kids were really into it. It just shows that if the music industry actually supported real music that kids would be open to it.
Just my four cents regarding some of the comments made by the OP. 1. GnR actually blew their competition out of the water not just in terms of album sales, ticket sales, but also in awards. They are one (if not the most) influential band to come out of that era. Appetite is still the best selling debut album in history and their songs are still played a lot today. 2. I've noticed that many of these so-called higher echelon guitar players that were designated by so-called rock experts are heavy shredders. Great at being fast and showcasing power but kinda average on the melodic and rhythmic sounds. Slash's style is not that of a shredder as he is more into blues and a little bit of punk rock. There are so many good guitarists that have been overlooked just because these so-called experts designated speed as the main criteria for being a super elite guitarist. 3. An argument can be made that Metallica is not truly underground. Back then there are two types of metal crowd. Those who loves listening to Bon Jovi, Poison, etc. and those who listens to bands like Metallica and Megadeth. Both might not have equal amounts of fans but both are very well represented. 4. Speaking of mainstream bands, I'll always love GnR, Metallica, Nirvana, and The Cure.
1. Yes they were very influential. But that doesn't disprove my point. 2. I called Slash an excellent guitar player in the video. Just wouldn't put him in "guitar god" status. 3. Compared to most music being played at the time that Appetite for destruction was coming out I suppose you could say that. Back before Master of Puppets I'd say they were definitely underground. By the time Justice was recorded/released they actually had a pretty large following. 4. You love what you love man \m/
Hahaha amazing reaction !! Please do some more stuff on Axl Rose! Maybe you'd understand why people worship them if you looked into Axl's voice as a voice of rebellion and an embodiment of Rock...
I like this video a lot. It’s not just the entertaining commentary you provide here. The way your face is hidden behind the microphone calls to mind that Wilson dude from the ‘Home Improvement’ sitcom. I don’t know why, but it does! Lol
I can actually do Axl's voice for when i sing, but normally my normal voice sounds brutal, deep and harsh at extreme lvls (good for intimidating, bad for singing)
Since she always seems like a bright kid, I can just imagine Sydney realizing what most of these songs are about. "Wow, I didn't realize L.A. could be such a shitheap!" Might be for the best that Lucas doesn't realize that cigarettes were probably among the healthier vices in the band. As far as clanging the repetitive bells for the cash, GnR definitely rode that train to a point (though I think there's enough variety within a distinct style on _Appetite_ that it's not a problem). However, at least, they didn't hump it quite so much as Aerosmith in the 90s.
You've got another squire for future music snobs. I'm like 12 and am a system of a down, rush, and tool fan. In fact I got to see A Perfect Circle for the first time a couple months ago, and it was AWESOME.
Slash isn't real. He's just one of our parents pretending to be Slash
Lmao!!! That comment totally reminds me of one of my buds who's a conspiracy theorist. This is probably my favorite comment on this video.
Become The Knight You look at old videos comments? Big fan btw
Actually, it's from an episode of South Park.
Jackson Howard ooooh yeah 😂 😂 😂
I sometimes think that to like wtf get out of my head.
"Do as much drugs as they do and you'll skip Wednesday too"

I don't think Slash has a "look" that's just how he came out of the womb
Lol! Right on.
Yeah, top hat and all 😂👌🏻
top had and cigarette XD
I don’t even think he was born from humanity, Zeus just struck the ground and Slash was created, rocking from the Heavens.
He did steal that hat.
6:15 'I wonder what drugs she's on?' It's called sugar dude, all the kids are doing it.
Brockers01 same

Fun fact: Slash doesn't even know What the video is about
Pew Pew wtf

Guns N Roses aren't bad. Not my favorite obviously, but some of these kids' reactions made me a little salty too 😂
+All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ! You're right they can't be compared. Only one band even comes close (led zeppelin)
+All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ! Bon jovi and motley crue come nowhere near
Chong The Gamer yeah queen rocks, but kids haven't reacting to that yet, only the elders.
Yeah, they're not bad, they're like a step up from ACDC imho. Not a fan of ACDC
"Lyrics are a big part of a song" *Precedes to jam to K-pop for the next 10 hours*
The one thing I hate is when people say "oh you can't under stand them" then go to listen to mumble rap
“At least she’s not Evan”
truer words were never said
I'm a die hard GNR fan and I would honestly never consider them 'Metal'. They're a hard rock band.
Def glam metal and hard rock
I always come to you for entertainment, and you never disappointed me. Keep it up Mike you're one of a kind.
Sgt. Piper hey bro i was same as them when i was a kid now i listen metalica/rock like guns n roses that was my first band

Meanwhile, every other glam band…
Honestly this is probably the most honest reaction video I've ever seen, the fact that he keeps his calm when the kids make annoying comments makes it even better, keep it going dude!!!
One thing about GNR, the energy they brought to live shows in the 80s was probably one of the top energy bands of the time.
I'm curious to your opinion as to them putting Mr. Brownstone in there...... I mean they don't get the lyrics... but.... Yowwwwwwwza...... if you get this reference then your a true GNR fan🤘🤘
Jennifer Bahnsen Referring to your joke (Mr. Brownstone), dudududuuuuu
Mr.Brownstone is about alcohol.
Storm Trooper3455 it's about heroin

9:20 "The only part of the song I actually really enjoy"
9:33 "Love this part of the song"

Appetite for Destruction still goes down as one of my very favorite debut albums. This band kicked ass in the 80s.
Guns n Roses. I had them live on june 24th in Belgium and they were all amazing. It was the best show in my life. I was amazed by the energy they have at that age and Axl's voice live. Seriously though who asked
I am 40, they came on the scene when I was 7, and even then I understood what their songs mean.
Your making it sound like only those born in 78, can understand a band who debuted in late 80s....
"formulaic metal" dude....you hit the nail on the head dude. i love how you explained that.
I'm with you dude. I like gnr and yes slash is overrated. That being said, the dude plays with unmistakable feel and just rocks out.
Totally. Slash plays like a boss. Just not a "god" haha.
Slash is my god haha
I saw Slash with Myles 2 months ago, his playing was flawless throughout, I'm just saying
..
Jamie Leitch if he wasn’t a god before, he is now
This is the first video I've watched by you. I can tell by your reactions I'm probably going to like your personality and content. Subscribed. :)
I appreciate is Kayla! Welcome to the channel \m/

I also don't know why they played Live and Let Die without mentioning it was a cover..or why they even played it as an example of GnR
Yea that was really weird........you think they may not know it's a cover?
Maybe. It is probably the more popular version...for those who don't know Wings and have never seen the James Bond movie.
They should have played "I Used To Love Her.." The song's actually about putting down a dog but it could have gotten some interesting reactions.
Should have played don't cry or civil war instead
I actually thought Axl was kind of attractive when he played Donna on That 70s Show
GNR is weird to look back on: Came out as “the most dangerous rock band” then followed that up with a “wedding” song, Bob Dylan cover before imploding
she's on drug called sugar
I clicked on this video already watching the Kids React to Guns and Roses and your reaction made me laugh SO much. You're truly a very smart entertaining guy PLEASE keep it man!

The end solo of November Rain is fantastic. It's about as simple as can be, but awesome.

''Who on Earth would listen to that''
Tell that to the millions of people who go to their concerts. XD
"Do as much drugs as they do & you'll skip Wednesday too" 🤣🤣
Nothing brings me more joy than hearing someone shitting on kids for shitting on Guns N’ Roses
2:15 November Rain is easily their best song
Estranged is better imo
About what you said about music used to tell stories, I think that is why my personal favorite band is Three Days Grace. Just found your channel and I'm pretty happy about that. Really liked that reaction, I'm immediately going to see the other ones. You're pretty right about everything, man. \m/
Your commentary made this more hilarious! Especially when it was in response to the kids lol. Love Guns to death.
“Do as much drugs as they do, and you’ll skip Wednesday too”

I owe guns n roses a lot for showing me I love rock, which led me to Pantera, which led me down the rabbit hole of metal.

Slash is basically everyone’s guitarists because he is very passionate about guitar

I was lucky enough to see them live earlier this year. it was the best gig I've ever been to, black Sabbath was a close second

Do
Do you know anything about Guns N Roses? Because it seems like not so much.
I’m 11 and listen to Guns N Roses daily
They should have played those children one in a million, I would love to see those reactions.
I'm very curious, are you left-handed or does your camera flip the image?
Kaj Tulinius he’s left handed
I can actually do Axl's voice for when i sing, but normally my normal voice sounds brutal, deep and harsh at extreme lvls (good for intimidating, bad for singing)
I didn't know this till today, but Axl Rose is officially the lead singer of Ac/Dc.
