The old school commercials are the best part about this episode. I remember getting my first Nokia. The kids explaining the old school cellphones to their parents. Hilarious😂😂😂
I just watched another one with the $5 footlong add and I got sad because I just got subway the other day, of course it sucked as always, and it was $18 for a foot long. No extras or anything, just $18

Watching from Tennessee. My eye is twitching. We are not all hillbillies. Chattanooga is a sweet city. Also, that lady is clearly suffering from OCD and needs help.
She is suffering from drinking the liberal doctrine kool-aid that has tried to rewrite history and promote everything south is uncouth, uneducated and non-relevant to a progressive society. It's beyond her realm of comprehension of how many prideful and educated minority families are in the south. To learn that would shatter everything she's been told to believe!
Cameron Swen Nah, the driver beeped while she was vacuuming and the husband responded “I think that means something” meaning, “I think that means he’s outside waiting for you” lmfao.
Allyson Auld she has some major issues and an incredibly skewed perception of herself , she had 0 personality 0 looks she had nothing to offer whatsoever than he wanna be high flutin ways
Plus teaching them to disparage and hate others based on where they live. Just living in the South means you are buck tooth, poorly dressed woman with straw between their teeth.
Devious Doggo actually my kids turned out great 15 years later. Great jobs, nice houses and living life to its fullest, they are doing wonderful, and I’m so grateful for that🙂
Mia has emotional problems, not only OCD but also anxiety , so obvious from watching this episode. She's an utter control freak, and it was so sad seeing her daughter anxious at the thought of getting into trouble because of the party and the house not being obsessively clean. It was shattering to see Mia's husband and children leaving the house and not even saying goodbye to Angie. They were like programmed robots, since Mia ran the house according to her neurotic rules. Angie's family were warm friendly people, close and affectionate, their house wasn't immaculate but that was irrelevant. Better to enjoy life with your family then be obsessive and neurotic over cleanliness to the point of making your family unhappy. I didn't like Kaleb torturing the worms, that is sadistic and Mia was, in my opinion, right to question this. Children should be bought up to treat all living beings with compassion and kindness. Not surprised to read in the comments below that Mia is now divorced from her husband. I hope her children are OK, they were so missing out on a relaxed enjoyable childhood.
@@littlelizzi3135me too. But I'd rather see happy children that ones that don't know how to ha e fun, and the marriage breaking up didn't surprise me at all. So bloody sad. 🇬🇧♥️
well, "God warrior" family's oldest sister died shortly after their second time on the show. The "bluegrass ohio family"'s son killed the mother and brother. I wonder what other families have experienced super big things.
I have a theory about Mia, the fact that she had a kid when she was young outside of marriage and literally prayed for her daughter's virginity with her daughter and her fear or hugging someone has something to do with her obsession with cleaning and hate towards filthy and dirty things. Maybe that's how she feels about herself, she feels dirty and filthy about herself at the time and she's still traumatized to date
Mia scared the crap outta me. I understand wanting a clean house but she was so over the top. My house isn't as clean as hers nor is it like Angie's my house is a messy clean.
I agree that Mia needs professional help and support. Those children are paying for something that they should not have to. Let them be kids. I don't like flies & ants all over the place, but spending time with your family is what memories are made for. Would like to see an update on both families 🙏❤️👍
Well Mia I've always lived in the city and I rather stay in a "hillbillies" home than your boring uptight home. This woman has made her entire family numb/emotionless; how sad. I hope her husband has put his foot down and has let their children be kids.
God. The way he hugged Mia with just happiness in his heart and she turned that to “Im not sleeping with this man why is he hugging me??” Made me so upset. That’s so immature.
It's not uncommon for people with OCD's thoughts to immediately go to worst-case-scenario inappropriate stuff when getting physical touch. Intrusive thoughts are often sexual in nature--for example, a girl on doctor phil had this fixation that if she helped change a diaper, it would mean she had assaulted the child, because the worst possible thing jumps right into their mind, they can't always help it.
When Mias daughter said she felt scared of having fun after the party and she felt like she did something wrong I was shocked and heart broken those poor children can't even have fun without feeling like they did something wrong because they made a lil mess
I know. All I could think was how much negativity have they been around? I'm convinced the mom has some sort of bad OCD. And maybe some other manic issues. She seems like she flies off the handle. I can't wait to see the dad at the end. Still watching but that clip had me smiling when he told his own wife how controlling she is in spades.
@@JamieNotLamie yes but she's sane enough and controlling enough to not get help her kids may need it though. You have to wonder why she is thar way ? It's probably not her fault sonething must of HAPPEnec ti make her need control that badly
Mia: "It's hard to grasp that she will be spending the $50,000." The other mom: "I only have three days to figure out what this family wants and needs."
I feel genuinely sad for Mia. I've never seen anybody look so depressed. It's as if her soul is devoid of any joy. Her kids also look joyless and are afraid to have fun for fear of upsetting her.
She is paying for sinning as kid and making her family pay for choice a kid made 20 years ago...shell be marketing chasity belts by mia..on shark tank.
She is a sanctimonious, tyrannical and narcissistic bully. There is no room in her world for any view, opinion or behavior that she disapproves of. She deserves to be richly unhappy and depressed.
OMG.... Mia....."He grabbed me and embraced me, I'm not this man's wife!!! I'm not cheating on my husband"! My Lord Mia, he was being kind and welcoming to you! Most people hug do hug. How do you go ANYWHERE away from your home?
It's not unusual to feel taken aback when you're embraced by the opposite sex. It's a norm in communities who come from religious upbringings, to observe an embrace like that as something intimate. Granted, we are living in the United States, a diverse nation. So people should be patient with one another's perceptions of body language. Also, people have personal boundaries.
No, I just stalked them all on social media. Dad remarried. Mia looks single, but healthy. Brea, the daughter has a child and seems to be on the ghetto side now. And Caleb seems to be normal--has a girlfriend.
That would probably help, excellent idea. But also, she's so obviously damaged and fragile, even a one eyed person could see it, and it's only a week, I thought they could have been more tender toward her and not taken things personally.
KimPansey I couldn't help but laugh at the one eyed person seeing it but I think that's ok because candy would prob laugh too! Now I disagree about taking it personally. At home no one will stand up to Mia and make her aware of what she's doing. There's no reason for that family to sugar coat it. They were right to let her know her behavior wasn't ok nor where her comments. And then they made sure to let her know that they didn't hold a grudge and still liked her as a person. I thought they were very kind in how they handled it. It would make the whole show a total waste if they were to coddle Mia and go along with everything she said. Instead they made it a teaching moment.
This Mia will destroy her family completely. How can someone be so stiff and cold? Broke my heart when the little boy says he'll remember that moment the rest of his life,in his mother's absence.Goodness
I know that part broke my heart ...poor baby. The whole family had a wonderful time that night. I hope the dad puts his foot square up her butt or down her throat one maybe for once she will shut that mouth and listen for a change 🤦
My heart broke for Bria. Her mom messed her up and put all her issues on her poor young daughter. She doesn't deserve to have cleaning ocd at that age. I had the BIGGEST SIGH OF RELIEF when she started to play and sing. Thank fuck she had some fun
Making her daughter feel sex is bad thing...will make her feel guilty even after married...teaching her to value self more important...mom feels so bad about sex she keeps hubbys equipment in her pocket..
Well they ask you where you would hate to go on purpose, if they aren’t getting out of their comfort zone then there is no point in the program and ultimately, the experiment.

Facts. She should’ve just let them play their game they made. I mean crap man there’s a game called Risk that’s about war that kids can play so she needs to majorly lighten up.
I think it's really telling what kind of people they are simply with their goodbyes. Mia was more concerned with vacuuming the house than saying goodbye/hugging/ect. her husband and kids. Angie on the other hand was way more open and affectionate; you could really tell she cares about her family.
Tennessee is beautiful! Gatlinburg and Chatenooga are in particular very scenic and great tourist destinations. That lady is very misinformed and prejudiced. Wow.
One of my favorite places. My family is from Florida and we used to go up there every year to see the leaves change. When my Father died we went there not the ocean to spread his ashes because it was his best memories.
Ashley Dodd I don’t like the Minnesota accent much!! Most Americans sound the same accent wise to me, except Minnesotans and people from the deep Deep South.
The family Mia was with was treated badly, they did everything they could to help her have fun and she stomped on all of that and made everyone have a bad time. Her kids are drained as well, especially Bria, she was was so negative she was almost being rude.
@@Coco1999_coco she said she got pregnant at 16 and made “mistakes” my guess is she made a lot of bad choices and her reform was to change into this awful OCD control freak. And she talks about wanting to make sure her children don’t make the same mistakes but DAMN she might as well push them into some bad influences arms because that’s where they’ll end up if she keeps them in that oppressive environment!!
I had a mother like Mia and have been in therapy overcoming the damage it caused me since I was in my late teens. Living with a robot with OCD is hard. Living with adults who are mentally ill is hard. Especially for a child. Her children look miserable. I have no idea how her husband deals with her, but he deserves a medal. He seems stiffled. He gas a sense of humour and is cool guy. He doesn't deserve to have to live like that, tiptoing around and being controlled by a very unwell woman. I do realize that Mia most likely behaves this way due to some past trauma, but she needs to address that before her husband gets sick of dealing with it and she completely destroys her children. The Tennessee family are what I craved and prayed for as a child. The mom is just the most sweet and laid back lady, and the dad is fun and genuinely loves being with his kids.
Apparently Mia and her husband got divorced. You're right that someone who clearly has mental health issues is in charge of the house and has bent her family to enable her sickness.
Mia's daughter sure didn't wait long to start a war......relax woman.... look what you are doing to your children.... children should NOT be that uptight! her daughter is just to worried to get her mom mad!! It's a country house. Nearly impossible to avoid dirt, bugs, mice (if you have fields near) etc. It's just the way it is. Everything isn't concrete, marble brick blah blah. Nature is dirty.
Really Dirty? haha, I've seen homes so much worst than that! I've been in one that has 1,000's of roaches crawling around and a bunch of filth everywhere
The commercial breaks are soooo nostalgic. Also I think the husband from Chattanooga was very sweet to not say that the new mom was judging him, rather that HE didn’t want to judge her by asking if HER house was messy
@@amyj4071 was it? that woman to me was just uptight clearly the daughter who is missing her eye made the joke it would only be mean if she didn't find it funny the fully sighted person being upset is just cause she's uptight as hell.

Okay Bria is beautiful but seems miserable. Yet Candy who is a teenager is happy even with a missing eyeball. She is so authentic. For that reason I would pick the dirty house.
FACTS 💯 nail on head with hammer💯 but check out Facebook “where r u now!” Bria had struggles despite the “cleanliness!” There’s more to a family than cleaning 🧼
People are mostly talking about the hugging, but the prosthetic eye reaction actually pissed me off. Candy talked about how her family always made her feel okay about her eye and how she took pride in it, and immediately juxtaposing it with Mia’s reaction showed the biggest difference in their families. What if Mia’s children had a physical disability that required a prosthetic or some other “unpleasant-looking” feature? Would she tell Bria to not take her eye out around her and not show people?
Dude that’s straight up gross and not hygienic and def not okay when I don’t know someone to do that. Maybe when they get to know her better but just like that. Fuck no that’s show she pretty much doesn’t know how to live around ppl without acting like a gross pig. Even tho I kinda like the most I hate the fact that she does that like it’s cool when it’s not
I thought the dance about the father going down to the son's level just to play with him. That's invaluable and teaches children that it's okay to play openly with adults and it builds trust in their relationship. The son and dad ate probably very close and the son's not even thinking about going out and shooting anybody up bc he wasn't pent up with a bunch of unreasonable rules all of his life. Instead, he had a very healthy relationship with his father
I mean, to be fair, I'd be terrified if I saw some kid take out their eyeball in front of me. I'd think I was in a Stephen King movie or smth. The reaction afterwards was definitely unwarranted, but the initial fear sorta makes sense.
The fact that the other family embraced each other and we’re so happy showed what a lovely family they are. It made so sad that Mia’s kids hugged her but then it all turned into im upset Im offended I mean how selfish. She hasn’t seen her family in a week why not just enjoy them for the day
mizzramos no I work in a school and I’ve subbed in k-12 for 8 years. I’m very familiar with how kids act. The little girl really wasn’t stuck up (that happens later on like middle school). She was just a product of her moms overbearing negative attitude
@Amber Rose ~ I also work at a school and have for many years with all age groups and I have to disagree that being stuck up doesn't happen until middle school. It's much earlier now. In this day and age they are exposed to so many things that they are too young for. Then society adds to the pressure to grow up faster then they should. It's sad. And just clarify i know they aren't fully emotionally mature until they are almost in their 20's but emotional maturity and developing attitudes are two different things. A lot depends on how much interaction they have with other kids and how much exposure they've had to tv and/or social media. I also think girls develop those attitudes much faster than boys. However I do agree with you that Mia's influence feeds into it.
She said why do I have to be inconvenienced lmao. You signed up for this. You had to know it was going to be completely different than your life. There is a difference from having OCD And just plain RUDE!!!!!
The one mom's house was filthy, and the other mom sucked all joy from the life of her family. You can be really clean and still have a happy family. Both mom's need to find a happy middle ground.
Candy Overby, you were so sweet and funny. Don't worry about what people say nobody is perfect they just zoomed and showed the worst parts of your house. Most people don't have a perfect house.

good friends rock! She has some real psych issues. I'm sure she's OCD and prob a couple other things. That is beyond control freak. It rules her life. I think meds and therapy would make a huge difference but she prob doesn't think anything is wrong.
The girlfriend of my brother in law also doesn't allow shoes in her house, her daughter can be mean to anybody and no one es expected to say anything. I hate going to her home, I try my best to not go at all. I hate it when my kids come home without shoes on. Plus they never open the windows and it smells like everything and everyone. 🧟
My sister in law is either tied with Mia or a tad worse. She doesn't have children either. She says she likes them but I think she'd have a nervous breakdown or make everyone miserable like Mia did. I'll never forget the time she was playing with my girls at her house. They were prob like 2 and 6 or 7. Her dining room has two entrances so they were running in circles in one side and out the other and sister in law was chasing them. My little came around the corner and bumped the plant and dirt spilled. It was like a movie where everyone saw it happen and were like NOOOOOOO and then DEAD SILENCE. My babies were ready to cry. Thankfully she was great about taking it in stride and reassuring them it can just be cleaned up. I appreciated that. But for ALL of us to have that immediate reaction tells you how bad she is. Her home is beautiful but you can't feel comfortable there. Everyone is on edge about dropping or spilling things. So it ends up being stressful rather then fun. Why would you want ppl to have to feel like that in your home?
Y'all I just can't believe she found someone that was willing to have children with this woman !! She has taken all the joy out her kids lives by just being her ! It would take a idiot to look at this woman and say wow she's going to be a great mom ...
As a Chattanooga local, I’d say the majority of the people here aren’t hillbillies, you’d have to go into the country for that, considering this is a growing city. And For Mia to pray for her daughters virginity seems just a little emotionally abusive

The dad is so sweet for still apologizing and she couldn’t even say sorry herself when SHE was the one in the wrong. She says no man has ever disrespected her, with the way she disrespects everyone around I’m surprised. Her version of disrespect is anyone having a different opinion than her and voicing it.
Mia is a hurt soul. Somethin bad happened to her to make her such a control freak. I feel sad for her. She doesnt seem very happy. Her husband needs to take control in a firm but kind sort of way cuz she needs to feel secure somehow so she can calm down n enjoy her family and feel happy n safe.
He can kindly have her committed to a court ordered psychiatric hold in a hospital with court mandated therapy...the narcissism is hurting her children.
it's tough to see such grave level of anxiousness in a nine year old. I hope she grew up well and found joy in her life that her mother couldn't give her.

Are you still married? I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just curious.

YESSS!!!! I really want to know if Mela Biggins and “Nana” Nakamura actually built a friendship after the show?!
That makes a lot of sense. What a comprehensive psychological profile.

I understand wanting a clean house but she was so over the top. My house isn't as clean as hers nor is it like Angie's my house is a messy clean.

I think something bad happened to her in her past.
Shes from up north, a lot of northern people aint very warm or welcome. Not the case with everyone though but definitely seems to be the case often

The son and dad ate probably very close and the son's not even thinking about going out and shooting anybody up bc he wasn't pent up with a bunch of unreasonable rules all of his life. Instead, he had a very healthy relationship with his father
@@andrewcarson6925 I’m with you. It was HILARIOUS! 😂😂😂
And if candy was ok with it then get over it people!
She hasn’t seen her family in a week why not just enjoy them for the day
Mia and her daughter where just straight up stuck up
mizzramos no I work in a school and I’ve subbed in k-12 for 8 years. I’m very familiar with how kids act. The little girl really wasn’t stuck up (that happens later on like middle school). She was just a product of her moms overbearing negative attitude
Mia's mom was great!
Dee Rockman
I agree too, stuck up comes at any age.
Well Bria ain't stuck up these days. Lol
Wow Mia’s kids are so shout dowm emotionally it makes me feel sorry for them.
Well they are divorced now from what I read here so I hope they are more open now.
Mia is the most judgemental woman. She's just pissed she can't manipulate and guilt trip them. Her head would explode if she had to smile.
They kept showing our garage over and over LOL
Mia needs a cleaner
Candy Overby, you were so sweet and funny. Don't worry about what people say nobody is perfect they just zoomed and showed the worst parts of your house. Most people don't have a perfect house.
@@FamousFisher read comment below that I wrote
Yup
The mom from Tennessee is so genuine and sweet ❤️
I’d way rather hang out with the Chattanooga family! Even though their house is filthy 🤣
That was our garage! Lol
@@FamousFisher Good to know other people have a messy garage. We have a attached two car garage, and its basically a junk room. And we live in MD. Where winters are cold...
Me too, I would feel more comfortable and loved visiting the TN family
@@FamousFisher Hey Candy, this is Mike... was friends with Brett years ago. How authentic was this show? Did they ask you all to act a certain way to create drama or anything? lol... hope you and Brandy are doing well...
Did anyone else get the feeling that Mia's husband couldn't wait for her to leave 🤣 I'm only a few minutes in & I can already tell that Mia is a lot of personality 🙄 the fact that she cried because she was going to Tennessee calling them hillbillies like who do you think you are? The dad couldn't even hug her my goodness I can't with this lady 😂😂😭
I hated her. I’m sorry to say that but I did.
🤣MAJOR OCD
miserable narcissist
@@aishabify Hates her !!! What's wrong !!
She kind of acts like a big ball of uptight regret with a stick up her butt. It's got to hard to hold onto all that stress. I guess you have to vacuum it away or die tryin.
Mia didn't even learn about the family whatsoever. She literally spent the entire time cleaning and judging their family.
Wow....Mia is a real piece of work...What DOES she like....anything??? one of the most miserable people I have seen!
really love her mom though!! at least she wants her grandchildren to have fun!!
Right? I don’t think she smiled once
People who are OCD about cleaning tend to have no personality.
@@breakfastattiffanys741 lmao oh snap
Julie in chase lane is wor2st and Mia got better at the end I guess Julie kinda did
good friends rock! She has some real psych issues. I'm sure she's OCD and prob a couple other things. That is beyond control freak. It rules her life. I think meds and therapy would make a huge difference but she prob doesn't think anything is wrong.
I love that the dad used specific language to correct his kids when they were playing with the army men.
Just watched the Howard ladies update. The mom is gorgeous! Rocking the white hair 🤩
My sister is actually worse than Mia, but thankfully she has no kids because she considers them "dirty".
Yami Patata
I agree with no shoes in the home, in my hall then it’s okay but that’s it, too much dirt on shoes
Too bad your parents didn't feel the same about her...
mia is definitely the girl that if u helped her she would say "i have a boyfriend" lmao I can't 😭✋
Kajsa Alexandria very creepy to be holding her daughter’s head and saying that, much much better to just teach abt safe sex when the topic comes up
My husband works in chatanooga and we live in the country/hills and no one around us are hillbillies lol. There may be a few out there but we just moved here from indiana/ohio area and there were a lot more up north 😂😂😂
Mia commenting on the map game of soldiers having guns saying, "These are the people that go into schools and shoot everyone" No, Mia the kids that do that are ones that are held to neurotic expectations, living under a roof of extreme mental health issues and have no autonomy, affection, or healthy relational attachment. Oh, Mia that is your household! I seriously hope she got some counseling after this aired.
Umm school mass shooting 99% of the time are committed by a certain race and gender white males
Angie is so sweet these kids had the best week filled with more fun than they are used to.
Pro tip, commercial breaks run for about 210 seconds 🤘🏼
Bless you
1:11:42 The moment she finally decided to let it all go and act her age. Her face said it all! That poor girl's been holding it ALL in for far too long.
How can Mia's mom seem so nice and easy going, and Mia be so uptight?
😱Mia's husband hugged Angie she's going to get pregnant
🤣🤣🤣😂
Lol
😂🤣💀
Perfect example of Anime Logic 👌🏽
I think Mia's husband was down for a little enjoyment in his life! He looked like he thoroughly got into throwing that toast😂
I think there's more commercials then the actual show
good thing you can fast forward thru them!!
@@N.Sardone that's not the point it's still irritating!!!
on a comp especially but some nostalgia and inspiration some r funny
realized recently still it's condensed and edited as it's 2 hrs of a full week of course
So irritating i tell you...those damn commercial
Girl that's how it was back in the day lol there was no rewind for regular tv and commercials was time to get a drank or get a drag of smoke in
Go grandma you put her in her place 🤟👏🏽
The family is so eager to show her everything, to have a good time, showering Mia with love, happiness and laughter and she tramples on that. Shame on you. Did not you enjoy any education? What will become of mia's children ...?have mias kids ever learned what happiness is?
The grandma has never seen her grandchildren so happy like this.... Say It all!
I love Angie.
She's like "oh my god they hugged me and gave me a nice warm welcome? No thanks."
flower road kiki the bitch went on about cheating and being married 😂 😂 it sent me! Oh my fücking god, how insane do you have to be!?
She's pretty entitled and stuck up
@@tacocatt6808 He might get her pregnant of he hugs her😂
TacOcatT dont cuss
The dad is so sweet for still apologizing and she couldn’t even say sorry herself when SHE was the one in the wrong. She says no man has ever disrespected her, with the way she disrespects everyone around I’m surprised. Her version of disrespect is anyone having a different opinion than her and voicing it.
This brings back so many memories. Lol I miss these commercials.
I think its racial for her she feel superior to him
And whatever that something was that happened,it happened in Chattanooga Tennessee 😂
it's tough to see such grave level of anxiousness in a nine year old. I hope she grew up well and found joy in her life that her mother couldn't give her.
Linnea Browncell Bria’s not anxious at all as an adult, she’s doing great!
Nicole Jessica I promise you I do NOT obsess with how I’m viewed from a TV show 15 years ago, I just find it so intriguing that people would comment years later. I am well very well and I’m not suffering with OCD, I have the spirit of God who lives inside me! I wish you well and will be praying for you! Take Care!!
@@gabbyslife6532 If you're not worried about how people view you from an old show from 15 years ago, why do you feel the need to come and comment repeatedly? That's what's interesting. If you're not concerned, leave people to their opinions and go on with your life. Be blessed...
