A song about addiction written by a 13 yo who had never taken any illegal drugs and still hasn't. She read a story and decided to turn it into a song and a great song. She's a musical genius.
@@RealLifeCoupleReactIf you want to see another version of this same song check out their Dakota bar performance when Pau was 15, Dani 17 and Ale 12 Even then Pau put her heart and soul to the performance. They are truly talented. Great reaction 👍
This is an old song, from their first album, XXI Century Blood, released in 2017. They were 17 15 and 12 when it came out. Most of the songs from the first 3 albums Pau would start on piano, get some kind of base, and then take to her sisters for all to work on. Yes Pau has a great voice, also consider this is in Mexico City, at an elevation of 2240 meters. She practices singing while running to build stamina. She also sings while playing drums on other songs too. Check out "Dust TO Dust" from this concert, or Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022, to see that. Another Pau on piano song at this show is the very emotional song "Breathe".
Yeah, WOW! All three of them started with classical piano. She wrote this song at age 13. They added the strings for this concert. It was breathtaking to be there live with my 8000 new friends singing along with her. I was a beautiful mess of tears by the end of this.
@@salvadorrodriguez459 Yep. Strings were special for each of those two shows. I was at both and got to experience ES with strings twice. Amazing renditions of this classic song.
As an American with that North American accent that we share with most of Canada... I would never know Pau wasn't a native English speaker if I met her on the street somewhere.
They do have noticeable accents, though, if not as pronounced as they used to be. I point this out with love for and pride in the beauty of the Spanish language and the Spanish-inflected English so prevalent in this part of the U.S.
@@g.garcia7151 Well, I detect no accent in Pau. Ale is very close but I can hear an occasional accent. Although her vocabulary seems bigger than the other two. Dany speaks perfect English although she has an accent unless she's thinking about it and it's something she's practiced. I speak Spanish every day. There are a lot of native Spanish speakers where I live. There are a lot of Spanglish speakers. But if Pau talked to me it wouldn't even occur to me that she wasn't the girl next door.
@@astrogatorjones I speak Spanish too. So do most of the people where I grew up, and a huge percentage of the population where I live. I don’t know what to tell you. I hear it, especially the “fresa” accent maybe most pronounced with Pau.
A beautiful performance she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. Pau is amazing writing such a profound meaningful song so young is stunning. Great reaction thank you look forward to more TW in the future.
Really nice Reaction you need to react to Breathe and then Dust To Dust &Dull knives. The combination of those 2 songs (DD&DK) are epic as well as Breathe. 😂 ❤❤❤
Nice reaction, it you think this was emotional wait until you do Breathe at this concert! But really, every performance from this concert is next level, even for them!!!😊⚡️
Okay, "BREATHE" is next from this same concert. Pau was ill and was powering through. You can hear it in her voice. **NOTE: Tissues will be required for "Breathe". 🤟⚡TWA
Also, if you want to hear what she says in the intro, you can do autotranslated subtitles, but I recommend turning them off for the actual song because they can be distracting. I just wept my way through it again...
Dany has a narwhal costume she likes wearing. She did karaoke with Pau one night wearing it. It's a wonderfully happy moment. I'm just covering for crying right now. ❤️⚡😭
Next I recommend D2D (Dust to Dust - Pau lead singer) and DK (Dull Knives (cut better)) - Dany lead singer - DK starts right when D2D stops, both songs from the same Pepsi Center show.
IN any other band Pau would be the lead singer. Next comes Breathe from the same show, make sure the captions are on. Get tissues out for that. This is a great concert, if you thought the Teatro was good wait until you get into this show, it's the next level for them. Great review btw good to see you back with this band.
@@RealLifeCoupleReact So let me try to get out in front of the rumor before you see it. Breathe is NOT about the loss of a friend, contrary to popular lore. Pau said its a panic attack set to music. If you listen to the song, it perfectly embodies the feeling of helplessness, loneliness, and depression that oftentimes accompanies someone with severe anxiety. But there is ZERO truth to this "its about a friend who died, who drowned, who committed suicide, who was killed in a car crash, who got struck by lightening"....you get the point. BTW - I adore your channel!
Now, you have to react to the song, Breathe, from the same concert. You think THIS was emotional, just wait. But, be sure to turn on the closed caotions so you understand her introduction. It's important. Nice reaction.
Definitely do Breathe as well, there’s a great contrast between them. As someone already pointed out BH was written after she read an article about addiction, but without any personal experience of the subject, however it resonates very strongly with people who have been touched by the subject. Pau has performed BH countless times and while she sings it beautifully she has no problem performing it. Contrast it with Breathe, she wrote this after an event that affected her personally. She said she would never perform it live, but was so touched by the crowd that she decided to do it straight after BH. You’ll see why it’s probably going to be the only time she does it and why everyone says make sure you have tissues ready (and definitely a squishy to hand!!!). I’m really sorry to say this, but the Leeds show was fantastic. Explains why I didn’t see you though.
We were upset that we couldn't make it but we've just got London tickets❤ thanks for your kind comment and words. We have such a big list of songs to do ❤
@@RealLifeCoupleReact So much music, so little time!!! I’m sure there’ll be plenty of people looking out for you next year, though it’s a bigger venue. Hopefully they’ll get to do some more shows, just one in the whole UK doesn’t seem fair!!!
Pau deserves all the comments but Dany has a similar song called " When I'm Alone" she wrote it when the girls attended Berkley summer program she was homesick and missing her friends and had a assignment to write a song due the next day and that song came out, it along with with "Black Holes" are big fan favorites' !!!!!
Sick as a dog that night to boot. Oh and yeah fams south of the Rio Grande to the tip of South America KNOW THE WORDS! Heck if you dig you can find fans in a stadium singing the guitar solo back at Oasis!
As they say, you aint seen nothing yet. She sang this song next. Turn on english subtitles for the intro. ua-cam.com/video/2idDr72FYA8/v-deo.htmlsi=3J6Hp2iiaB9zjYwl
Pau sings another song with piano, it's called "Breathe". Same concert. You should automatically set subtitles to English, because Pau says something important in Spanish beforehand. This performance is probably one of the most emotional performances ever.
I don't know if you noticed but she was accompanied live by the string section of a local orchestra. Also check out "Z" and "Disciple" from Pepsi Center.
Rock fans are discovering a new emotive empath who can write absolutely relevant songs. Pau is a child prodigy, as are both her sisters. Her gifts of song writing, composing, singing, drumming, piano playing, and music video directing are impressive. If you haven't seen her sing *Breathe* and *23,* from this same concert, don't miss them! *Breathe* is a tear-jerker about depression that is stunning. *23* is about crushing on someone who doesn't know... This girl can convey feeling as well as anyone writing new material today. If you haven't reacted to her cover of Radiohead's *Creep,* check it out! It's the only version of that song I find worth hearing. Trigger warning: bring tissues. Great to see you reacting to The Warning again.
She doesn't speak "Mexican", she speaks Spanish . It's all good. If you do watch "Breathe", which she plays after this song, it is not about her. "Breathe" is a response to a childhood friend who took her own life and the song is written from her perspective, as though she is telling us her story. Paulina was never going to perform "Breathe" live, but she did it as a thank you to the sold out audience of 8k at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City. She explains that in a little speech prior to the song, so turn on the CC in English for the translation as she speaks to the crowd in "Spanish", haha 😊 FYI: the studio version does not include a string orchestra. This is a special event they incorporated the orchestra into some of their songs, including their rearrangement of Metallica's "Enter Sandman." Also, Mexico City is at nearly 7300 ft elevation and they live in Monterrey that nearer sea level. To see more of them watch their latest releases from the Pepsi Center concert. Cheers! 🍺😎👍

She was learning English at the same time as Spanish in a bi-lingual school from an early age, so she did speak English regularly growing up.
