An emotional song about the despair of addiction written by a 13 year old who’s powers of observation completely captured a subject that thankfully she hasn’t personally experienced.
Me too, I can't listen to this song with out tearing up and from what I gather, I'm not alone. They say that until you've been there, you can't fully grasp what an addict goes through....let alone a normal, well adjusted 13 year old girl from a good loving family! Amazing!
Yes sir. I've been down this rabbit hole for a little over a year now. And I have shed many tears. More than all other bands of the past...Combined! The Warning will easily be in the top 10 of all time at the end of the day. Their throne amongst the legends awaits.
This was at the Dakota Bar in 2018. At the time Pau was 16. She wrote the song when she was 13. This song and the other ballad, *Show Me the Light*, sung by Pau are from their first full album XXI century Blood. These two song sold me on the warning. *Black Holes* is about addiction and the mindset of someone unable to recover from it.
Great reaction. You understood Pau's intentions perfectly. She has said this song is about addiction. Pau wrote this at age 13, but this performance was when Pau was 15. This song is on their album XXI Century Blood. At the beginning Pau was smiling because people were singing along (in English at a Mexican bar). The line that always gets me is "even black holes let me be." Amazing song writing.

Hey Rosalie, very cool reaction, and I'm sorry for not putting in the description that this song was performed when Pau was 15 years old. She actually wrote this when she was 13. None the less you pretty much nailed the meaning of the song. About addiction and for a 13-year-old to come up with such lyrics is amazing. These young women are way ahead of their time. Thank you for your time. Peace.
And I'm constantly blown away by this concept that Paulina has written all these songs from her imagination, and not from empirical experiences. No heartbroken love relationships, no drug addiction troubles, etc. To be able illicit such emotions from us their fans...just an incredible song writer! Oh yeah, then there's the drumming thing...😜
Paulina is a phenom. The girls as a whole are so tight and versatile. I watched a vlog on Ale. In a live performance half way thru a song, Dani lost her voice. Ale stepped right to the Mic and took over lead. Never missed a beat. Just incredible.
Absolutely. Brilliant composition using those very well placed harmonics to add to the atmosphere and Dany’s solo in accompaniment is so hauntingly beautiful.

They recentlly played this in a very acoustinc setting at a radio station in Montreal while touring with Three Days Grace. When you have the time you should check it up, they played around 8 songs. Ale wasn't there cause the cold really hit them hard during the tour. I was such a fun intimate gig very enjoyable. Nice reaction, you really nailed the meaning of the song.

In my opinion, one of the best lyrics written by Pau, even considering the lyrics on the Error album. The subject of addictions is obviously a very difficult subject to deal with for a song, and Pau with her lyrics was able to give us a moving insight into this difficult problem. Trust me, many people are moved to tears by this song.
If you are loving Pau's voice, take a look at her version of Creep. She did that as an Instagram challenge; learned it in 4 hours. ua-cam.com/video/A6Y4XpBxjU0/v-deo.html
Pau sang this for the 1st time in about 5 years, about a month ago. (Link below) They were on tour in Canada at the end of last year and because they are not used to the brutal cold there, they all had gotten the Flu. At one point Dani and Pau were singing and playing on stage w/ the Flu and eventually it got to Ale, whom I assume got it worse because she had to miss a show. When Ale returned for the following shows she had to sit on a stool the whole show because she couldn't stand. Their ability to 'power through' and 'carry on' despite having the Flu is a testament to their drive and professionalism. All these Canada shows are on UA-cam in their entirety. Anyhow, the show that Ale had to miss was about a month ago in Montreal. Dani and Pau arranged an acoustic set w/ Q&A for the fans. Dani's voice was still in rough shape and Pau being the most recovered did most the singing. They did a lot of older songs that they haven't sung in years and it was cute to see Pau forgetting lyrics, at one point Dani had to pull lyrics up on her phone and hold them up for Pau. This is the link for the full show... Black Holes is the first song, starts at about 2 and a half minutes. Pau plays keys and sings the song for first time in years and it's beautiful. Dani just stands off to the side smiling at her sister. At one point Pau looks over and sees her and starts laughing, then Dani laughs, it's adorable. ua-cam.com/video/o-dFwhZd7w4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TheWarningArmy This is the setlist, Pau sings 9 of the 11 songs. TWARMY Award winning Patreon contributor here, fun fact when you see Pau smile at the beginning was her reaction to hearing the audience sing along with her. She was almost overwhelmed with emotion but composed herself like the pro she is... All three of the sisters are proficient pianists as they are singers too. Pau wrote this after reading a story about addiction in the newspaper when she was 13. She was 16 at the time of this performance... She also wrote the very powerful song about abuse and murder/suicide, Copper Bullets. In fact it's to difficult to pick just one great song from The Warning, of the 50+ original songs that they have written and recorded none are bad.

@@MaddogJones Gotta watch out for instantpudinhead, he corrected me for saying Pau was 12 when they did ac/dc back in black. She was actually 12 days from being 12 and I think she was 16 days from being 16 when they did black holes. He is watching us. lol. 👀
All three of them play piano and sing, they also attended seminar classes at Berkeley College. These women are trained and have taken musical lessons. Listen to thier cord progression and changes. Off the hook. Timing is good on on time most cases. They are well on thier way being an ironic Rick band as well as one of the best female rock bands out there to-date.
I love watching people discover and fall in love with this band, as I did, years ago. Your falling into a black hole called The Warning, from which you will not return. Enjoy the journey!! Great review. 👍
Pau also sang and played keyboards on the song "Escape the Mind", the title track from their EP "Escape the Mind", their first release. This is a link to that performance in front of their classmates: THE WARNING - ESCAPE THE MIND / ORIGINAL SONG @LICEO ua-cam.com/video/wtRLmnQ9-Cc/v-deo.html This is about 3 months following the release of the EP "Escape the Mind" and a couple of months before they attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. At this time Pau is 13; Dany 15; Ale 10. Pau also sings lead on "23", "Revenant", and "Breathe" on the "Error" album
This song gets me every time! (especially THIS performance at The Dakota Bar). Pau smiling near the beginning when she realizes the crowd is singing along!💖 This is, and probably will remain, my favorite rock ballad of all time. Pau's ability to pull you in with her crazy good lyrics and emotional delivery is amazing! For a 15 y.o., at the time of this performance, to have that kind of power, is almost scary.😮 🤘😍🤘
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on Black Holes from The Warning it's my favorite song from Them. and it's still mind blowing that Pau wrote this very amazing and emotionally song at the age of 15 singing About this subject matter that she wrote about at the age of 13.
I had a classmate who was depressive, when I was in high school. I didn't realise it, back then. It was a long time before I got my own fair share of depression. I don't know, if she took her life. Her demon was: "I bring evil to everyone, trying to get (even mentally) close to me." I don't know, what caused this. Myself, I'm doing fairly well, today. But one will never get rid of it, completely. Ever. Something positive to share: I've recieved an email from a friend, just before the turn of this year. She is depressive, too. I had almost given up, to ever hear from her again.Sent her a mail, every once in a while, though. 'Cause I know, how us depressive folks can be. 1st mail from her, 2years, after we wrote back-and-forth: "Sorry, for answering so late. Every mail from you always made me smile: someone is thinking of me!" Deptession is a beast! Rosalie: schau' mal nach "Don't give up!" von Kate Bush und Peter Gabriel. Vorsicht! Taschentücher bereithalten! Ist aber ein geniales Lied.
As always a great reaction and I like the lyrics as well they did a great job on this one and for Pau being so young singing this with such emotion and conviction that is very awesome I liked this one alot . as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo
Great reaction! Glad others have addressed the inaccurate age for this. By the way, Pau is not the only one who plays piano. All three are classically trained on piano and by their own admission Ale' is the better player on the piano. Going through their catalog of performances you will see all 3 play piano in concert performances.
Pau wrote this when she was 13. After she read an article about an addict. It hits so close to home for people with that past or present. She's 16 here, I believe
"WOW!" Is the only proper response to this song. It is an amazing song and you nailed the interpretation 🎯 So Wow yourself. Great reaction 💞💓❤️ Please find time to react to more of The Warning. 🔥🔥🔥 There is so much more to see. ✌️💖🎼
Just to end the discussion of how old they where: "Live show at Dakota Bar in Monterrey, Mexico January 19th 2018 Dany 17 (Lead Voice, Guitar), Pau 15 (Drummer, Voice), Ale 13 (Bass, Voice)" (from the description of the video on their YT-page). But nevertheless a great song and a great performance and though I very seldom appreciate slower and mellow songs, it's different with The Warning, also those kind of songs (Show me the light, 23, Revenant,...) hit me deep.
Love your reactions. This song and Pau's performance amaze on so many levels. For all the bangers on Error, the surprising Revenant pierces my soul in much the same way.
The Warning and Angelina Jordan have become my favorite artists. Those 4 young women possess talent beyond comprehension. I have seen The Warning live twice and can't wait to see Angelina. My dream is to have them song a song together.
This is my all time favorite by TheWarning, even had Paulina send me the lyrics written out as a Patreon reward.Paulina nailed this great ballad. She brings grown men to cry.Love your reaction earning you a sub, cant wait to see your next reactions and especially reactions of this great power trio from Monterrey.Keep Rockin Dany,Pau,Ale!And TWA!!
Recently Pau performed this for a very small group of fans. She hadn't performed the song live in a few years, and a fan brought up the lyrics for her on his phone; (it was either this one or Show Me the Light). Either or, it's funny how artist move on from their early works.
Hello Rosalie, magnificent reaction and the song.. my goodness one of my favorite songs.. thank you very much, you are missing many songs from this great band.. the truth is that any song you listen to will take you to the maximum.. greetings
Great reaction, Rosalie! I always appreciate your reactions cuz you are always honest while being respectful and not vulgar. You got the meaning of the song cuz it is about addiction but more specifically a family member of theirs that was struggling with an addiction. This is a beautiful piano ballad from Pau and the other piano ballad on XXI Century Blood, Show Me The Light is just as beautiful with a little more guitar and also sung by Pau, however Dany did a surprise solo acoustic version of that song on her livestream Thursday night as well. God bless and rock on🤘!
Pau is the Drumeo 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year! She started piano at a VERY young age, and by 10, she was hitting drums hard enough to break sticks. She wrote this at 13 and she's 15 in this performance. Her voice is very different from Dany's - not better, just different. She starts writing and composing most of their songs, and the sisters finish them as a group. But if a song is emotional like this one, or *Show Me the Light* from the same Dakota Studio Bar 2018 performance, or *23, Revenant, Dust to Dust,* or the pre-recorded version of *Breathe* from the intermission at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, 08/29/2022, grab a box of tissues before you hit play! Pau sings those with total mastery. Her cover of RadioHead's *Creep,* shot on an iPhone in black-and-white at the out-of-tune piano in their living room, is the best version of that song I've ever heard. It left me on the floor, staring at the ceiling, marveling at what an emotive empath she is. There is a fan video of *Breathe,* performed live at the Pepsi Center last year, that is supposedly devastating. She broke down during the song. I'm waiting for an official release of that concert video to see it. (I don't like bad audio.)
Thank you very much for sharing your excellent feedback and review. Pau's interpretation was surprising, how she has accustomed us today, it is incredible that at 15 years old she had the inspiration to achieve those lyrics and, in this performance, she, along with her sisters, gave us a sample of their interpretative capacity and their talents. But this song moves me a lot because, focusing on the lyrics and their meaning, I realize the high level of empathy that Pau has... and at her very young age... Wow!! Thank you very much and congratulations. Greetings ⚡🎸🥁🎸⚡
Pau can sing for sure, even singing lead while playing the drums. To see that check out "Narcisista" or "Dust to Dust" for harder rockers, or "The End" or "23" for slower ones/power ballads. "Survive" is great too.
yes, paulina(pau) did lead on this one, and also wrote it, all three play piano(key board), danelia (danny) was 15, alexandra( ale) bass was 10... all, to me, were born talanted!!
Black Holes is Pau's masterpiece imo. Her voice is extraordinary on this beautiful, powerful, emotional song. I read that she was smiling because the crowd was singing along with her. Great reaction!
This group is so darn talented 👏 and they just keep getting better. The harmonies in choke marterio ans the enter sandman with Alessia Cara was so beautiful 😍 your reaction to this masterpiece was awesome 💖 😍 ❤️ 🔥
What a great reaction! Yes, there's a lot of talent out there, but Pau is truly special. I've listened to other talent...Liliac, Hammerhedd, and so on...but Pau is the only one who consistently brings me to tears, even in a song like Evolve. Don't get me wrong, the whole band is special. If Pau is 13 here, Ale is only 10 or 11, Dany 15. They blow me away, but yes, it's Pau that touches my soul. Revenant (my fave being the vid at Teatro Metropólitan on Aug 26) is another very special tune, with Pau on just vocals. Thanks for this vid!
Pau was not 13 here; she just wrote the song at that age. Incredible, eh? ALL three sisters were trained for classical piano very, very young; even before they began playing their current main respective instruments. The videos of them playing classical piano are available through their official UA-cam page.
The Warning - Dust to Dust Live Whiskey Go Go ua-cam.com/video/sNxrcJr4lrw/v-deo.html Pau also sings here while she is on the drums. She is phenomenal. Would be cool if you also look at this with us. I would also like to recommend Eivør. You will never forget her voice. She has a beautiful voice. She is also a singer songwriter and plays umpteen instruments. Partly extraordinary instruments. Eivør - Falling Free (live) ua-cam.com/video/KNPIdGBn7M4/v-deo.html
Check out another crude lyrics from them in the song: "Copper Bullets", a song about domestic violence and abuse. Their mom actually almost convinced them not to record it in their first album because of the dark theme
PAU, what an excellent interpretation of BLACK HOLES, PAU is a complete musician, Pau's great ability to compose is incredible, excellent lyrics and intelligent messages, Pau the new genius of Rock, there is no one who interprets and composes like Pau and his volume of composition is enormous
To me the often overlooked part of this performance, is Dany with her beautiful, subtle guitar playing and wonderful backup vocals.
But the star in this song is PAULINA, and that smile when she heard the audience singing her song, worth millions if not billions!
As well is Ale's solid accents on Bass. It's Pau's baby though and let's face it, it's a masterpiece.
✌️💖🎼
Yeah but that guitar shines even brighter in Show Me the Light.
@@DaveRod76 I am not going to disagree with that statement. 😀

@@MaddogJones Gotta watch out for instantpudinhead, he corrected me for saying Pau was 12 when they did ac/dc back in black. She was actually 12 days from being 12 and I think she was 16 days from being 16 when they did black holes. He is watching us. lol. 👀
You would also like one of there live songs called Survive, The Ted X performance ..Epic!
Ted-X performance!
@@a.j.pinckney88 yes your correct! That's the best one!
A really well composed song topped off with Pau bringing all the emotion needed to justify the lyrics and subject matter , perfection .
Not much i can add to the comments . . Im 63 and love them . . . Been following them for about 10yrs . . . Big future
Pau sings this song at the Pepsi Center, Mexico City. Performed the song on Grand Piano with Orchestra be hind her.
Pau also sang and played keyboards on the song "Escape the Mind", the title track from their EP "Escape the Mind", their first release. This is a link to that performance in front of their classmates:
THE WARNING - ESCAPE THE MIND / ORIGINAL SONG @LICEO
ua-cam.com/video/wtRLmnQ9-Cc/v-deo.html
This is about 3 months following the release of the EP "Escape the Mind" and a couple of months before they attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
At this time Pau is 13; Dany 15; Ale 10.
Pau also sings lead on "23", "Revenant", and "Breathe" on the "Error" album
Absolutely love that performance of Escape the Mind! Everything about it
This song gets me every time! For a 15 y.o., at the time of this performance, to have that kind of power, is almost scary.😮 🤘😍🤘
your interpretation is correct is about adcition, amazin lyrics for three little girls, pau wrote this song inspired in a family friend i think...
Every mail from you always made me smile: someone is thinking of me!"
Deptession is a beast!
Rosalie: schau' mal nach "Don't give up!" von Kate Bush und Peter Gabriel. Vorsicht! Taschentücher bereithalten!
Ist aber ein geniales Lied.
Very deep. She has an old soul. This band has grabbed my attention. I am amazed how they invest their emotions into their music. Great choice.
Pau also did Show Me the Light at this show. It has an excellent though very under appreciated guitar solo as well.
Pau wrote this when she was 13. After she read an article about an addict. It hits so close to home for people with that past or present. She's 16 here, I believe
"WOW!" Is the only proper response to this song.
It is an amazing song and you nailed the interpretation 🎯 So Wow yourself. Great reaction 💞💓❤️
Please find time to react to more of The Warning. 🔥🔥🔥
There is so much more to see.
Indeed. Breathe does the same to me. Even 23, especially her live performance at Teatro Metropólitan. Pau is a very special person, indeed.
You gotta love Paulina, Every time She sings This song with such heart, The tears automatically come.
What a beautiful reaction thank you⚡️⚡️⚡️🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
This is my favorite song by them with When I'm alone 2nd, both emotionally strong songs.
Holy Hell....where did this come from ????? 15 ? wait , what ??? why have i not heard of this band till now ???????
Yes these young sisters are extremely talented and amazing artists. And to think this was 5 years ago 😉⚡🤘🏽
Pau's cover of Creep at the piano is pretty good, you should give it a go.
Pau es el poder de the warning, gran diosa del rock. Gracias por la reacción. Saludos feliz año
El poder,el alma la mente creativa.
Wonderfully smart reaction. Thank you.
When all is said and done, Paulina will be recognized as one of the best lyricists of her generation.
TW ❤️🇧🇻
Hello Rosalie, magnificent reaction and the song.. my goodness one of my favorite songs.. thank you very much, you are missing many songs from this great band.. the truth is that any song you listen to will take you to the maximum.. greetings
More coming soon :)
And thank you :)
God, I love Pau's voice. I also love her drumming, but her voice! Man! 🖤🤘🏻
Here is the full concert of The Dakota Bar 2918 at MONTERREY ua-cam.com/video/1PgpShsmWgk/v-deo.html
Excellent reaction, what an amazing song. Thank you for sharing, 🤘rock on, my friend 🤘
These young ladies are amazing! Thanks for another great reaction and analysis Rosalie!
Greetings
⚡🎸🥁🎸⚡
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. Agreed. Lots of insight and talent at such a young age
Look up creep, Pau piano and vocal all by herself, awesome
REACCIÓNA AMOUR THE WARNING 😎
Powerful and emotional performance. Great message.
Pau’s Passion is something else 🔥🤘❤️ Thank you for reacting The Warning 🙏🏻🇫🇮
Paulina and Dani did an acoustic set in Canada they started off with this song And her voice is Waaay better. You should check that one out
Amo esta canción en mi top 5 de the warning lo cual es bastante reñido.
Their new album Error has two cool songs on it by Pau.
Pau can sing for sure, even singing lead while playing the drums. To see that check out "Narcisista" or "Dust to Dust" for harder rockers, or "The End" or "23" for slower ones/power ballads. "Survive" is great too.
Paulina's masterpiece.
yes, paulina(pau) did lead on this one, and also wrote it, all three play piano(key board), danelia (danny) was 15, alexandra( ale) bass was 10... all, to me, were born talanted!!
Black Holes is Pau's masterpiece imo. Her voice is extraordinary on this beautiful, powerful, emotional song. I read that she was smiling because the crowd was singing along with her. Great reaction!
The Warning is part of my curtular studies of American continent, and positive one!
This group is so darn talented 👏 and they just keep getting better. The harmonies in choke marterio ans the enter sandman with Alessia Cara was so beautiful 😍 your reaction to this masterpiece was awesome 💖 😍 ❤️ 🔥
Thank you for your 2cents. When I say 2cents I'm talking value. So thank you for your explanation on the song. This 2cents has great value.

Pau also sings here while she is on the drums.
She is phenomenal. Would be cool if you also look at this with us.
I would also like to recommend Eivør. You will never forget her voice. She has a beautiful voice.
She is also a singer songwriter and plays umpteen instruments. Partly extraordinary instruments.

Check out another crude lyrics from them in the song: "Copper Bullets", a song about domestic violence and abuse. Their mom actually almost convinced them not to record it in their first album because of the dark theme
Pau was 13 when she wrote it and they played it at their school.
Love the warning 🤘this song so deep. Show me the light song the warning please
I feel like Dany’s ringing chords are love and life leaking away.
Damn. Paulina is a heckuva song writer. Great singer too!
Pau + piano = 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
That guitar solo by Danny is amazing!! I need about 12 more bars of it tho!
Oh my GOD how can a young girls as she is perform this way???? It's insane!! ASTONISHED!
Channel west coast of ridiculousness wore a shirt with the warning and Metallica logos on it on an episode in 2019. Fun fact.
Beautiful sad song
