    6000XP had no issue absorbing Surge/Dump Loads
    Did I just stumble on to a true combined 24,000 watt setup?
    Cliff notes:
    2 6000xp’s provide a grid connection to the 18Kpv.
    I got lost for a minute when the 18Kpv wasn't responding as expected (I forgot about a recent setting change).
    After that I get back on track, showing how the 18Kpv can pull for the grid (if enabled) when a heavy load turns on.
    I continue on to show how the 6000xp responds when a large dump load is dropped on the 6000XP’S. the XPs simply convert the AC dump load into DC charging the batteries.

      Trying to come up with a larger load, so I can actually test how the 18Kpv responds when load exceeds 12K.

    Can you run a test of one 6000XP showing total loss (all input power minus load power) with just PV, just grid, just battery and with a combination of two or three sources at the same time? The spec sheet just mentions idle consumption in the various scenarios... but that doesn't really tell the whole story. I'm just wondering what the total input is (battery, PV and grid) vs. load output in a typical config over the course of a typical day where various combinations come into play depending on sun, load and battery SOC.

    I ordered a 6000xp and am setting everything in preparation for it to arrive. Just quick question, the heat exhausts from the left side on these units right?

    Am i comprehending this correctly? The 18kpv is sometimes backfeeding to the grid (your 6000xps) and they are taking that energy and charging the battery .... From AC punping backward into the 6000xps ac output legs?

    • @theadventuresofarenaissancman
      @theadventuresofarenaissancman  7 місяців тому

      Yes, that's normal behavior for a grid interactive inverter. The 18Kpv has a grid disconnect relay (off grid mode) setting if you need absolutely zero backfeed.

    Why would you not just use the two or more 6000 XP’s instead of having the 18k too? Seems like a lot of idle consumption, complicated set up, inadequate battery and cabling.

      1st world problems...the inverters are for another location. Just testing them out. The other location won't be ready for solar until next year.

    Where can I find the air deflectors for the Eg4 6000xp’s?

      Local Big box store or Amazon. Register Vent Deflector. Something like this should work. (You can buy cheaper locally) a.co/d/2Xm4mMe

      Just a heat/AC vent deflector. You can buy on Amazon or BigBox store.

    How does the battery communication work with 2 systems so to speak running together?
    I just asked SS about running this very set up last week and they told me I couldn't.
    I need more than 12k, and I have 27k in PV. If I get the credits for my 4-6500s this work cost just about the same as a full price 18k

      In this video the 6000xp are running in lead battery. The 18Kpv is using battery comms. The battery is shared with all three inverters.

      That's alot of PV. Unless you have a large base load the 6000xp will be limited to 6000 watts of solar each. So just expect clipping of excess PV. Also you wouldn't be able to sell too grid with this setup.

    • @theadventuresofarenaissancman
      @theadventuresofarenaissancman  7 місяців тому +1

      If my math is correct, PV would top out around 12K+6K+6K = 24K max battery charging. So, any excess solar above 24K could power your base load or it would be clipped. That would only be a problem during peak solar months.

      @@theadventuresofarenaissancman I was going to get a eg4 charge controller for the other panels for the winter months. Summer time id use pv as needed and keep the pv off on the inverters ( 6000) when full. I turn the pv off now on 2 of my inverters as well In the summer time. I picture it working similar to what I have but one less inverter. Think it would work? I just need to make sure communication with the batteries won't be a problem.
      Yea, here 10k pv is max for the power company. I'm off grid.
      This time of year i only get sun from 10 to 2..that's why my pv array is so big. It's nice with the 6500s having 500voc I didn't think it would be that much of a difference, but did look at the charge controller if need be. I have 20- eg4 batteries and the AC 's help use excess pv in the summer.. But im usually full by noon on nice days.

      @@motomike1197 20 batteries can easily handle a combined 32,000 watts charging. So you can safely run PV through all inverters.

    I'll bet you any amount of money that one of these 6kW high frequency inverters cannot start and run a 6kW inductive, motor load.
