Being a girly lesbian can be really hard sometimes. I would say I am not as girly as her, but I do wear dresses and skirts pretty often so I also don't fit into the stereotype of what many people think a lesbian should look like. It kind of sucks, because women usually don't hit on me, because they think I'm straight and I am very shy. So dating is honestly very hard. But I totally agree, I would never change my style to fit in.
Not fitting into a label at all makes it hard too. I dress and act very plain, mostly jeans and shirts, and I have long hair instead of short. A lot of lesbians love the traditional fem+butch pairing, but I am not butch, so the fem girls I like tend to ignore me ):

Not trying to invalidate anyone and their experience, but this label specifically is the one I can’t wrap my head around, even though multiple people have explained to me that I’m probably demisexual myself. I have trouble understanding why it is categorised as a sexuality, as opposed to a psychological sexual preference, since those who identify as demi obviously still have a primary sexual orientation, be it homo- or heterosexual, bi, pan or anything else. You can extend it to everyone one the spectrum except to those who are aromantic, and I’m pretty sure that this is one of the major things people struggle with when trying to comprehend asexuality in general.
