BowTiesRCool ***** Well, it's undeniable they at least tried to put some reference to previous titles, but they're very vague references. It's like they only ever watched each title sequence once, without really caring to memorise anything from them. Also, why would they reference the titles in such an unusual order?
BTW, it's nice that they put some references to the old titles (however inexplicit they are), and to me this is the best title sequence of the new series in concept and style, but admit - PAS could've bothered to work on it a day or more than they did.
And the BBC could've also hired another company to make it, one that is more experienced with extensive 3D CGI, and VFX in general (I looked in PAS's showreel on their site and besides this there was pretty much nothing that had complex camera movement, or a very vast and/or detailed scene, or, indeed, any volume or third dimension whatsoever. This isn't the right company to do that kind of stuff. Their other works are great, even brilliant, but their Doctor Who titles are terrible mainly because the content needed to be in them is beyond their area of expertise).
