You are such a good teacher. You go slow and you are easy to follow. I wish others were slow because I am old and need to think about it for a minute. LOL
I LOVE this pattern. The neckline lays perfectly (unlike others). Currently, I have made this poncho 4 times. I am using it as a stash buster. Thanks for the clear instructions and clear camera angles!
Found this so late but right on time. Had you not explained this, from other patterns given I would've never be able to do this, thanks so much for your time and an awesome video, your teaching is better than I have seen online. Again thanks❤️
Why would someone give a thumbs down....this Poncho is beautiful. I am.going to try and make this. I love this...I am watching this as I send this text.
1st poncho i’ve attempted … used Loops & Threads facettes yarn in the colourway “autumn” … went through almost 3 skeins @800 yards using a 6.5 mm hook, ended after 7 repeats & finished the neckline with a few rows of SC, reducing my hook size with each round … poncho turned out stunningly 😍 & the drape on the neckline is perfect thanks for this free pattern, Jonna!!! 🧶❤😊
I love your virus work. I've done one virus shawl from your tutorial and everyone wanted it. I ended up giving it away and I am so ready to do the poncho now. Thank you so much . Your instructions are great. Keep up the good work.
I was looking for special Poncho pattern for my daughter , And found your beautiful poncho I am still working on it following your instruction .. Cant say anything more than God Bless you you are wonderful .. Thanks a million
Jonna, I love your tutorials. I have used this one (2 Point Poncho) which goes extremely fast. I have been up all night working on this. The first 3 hrs were a mix of miss-counting, undoing, redoing until I got it right, by then I was well on my way to make my first poncho. I used your 2C2 and Virus Blanket tutorials as well. They are well explained and repetition is the name of the game for me. You go slow enough and the camera work is so clear, I can see the stitches very well. I agree with Judith Chemotti, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you for taking the time to pass on your knowledge to us fellow "Hookers". Have a great day!!! P.S. I made sure I subscribed to your channel and always drop your name on the F/B crochet group when they ask about tutorial and how to's. Great job!!
+Renee Neldon I am so happy that you enjoy this pattern and video! Thank you for watching commenting and sharing with your friends I truly appreciate it!
I finished my poncho today, It is the first time l have made an actual item of clothing & l am so happy with it. Thanks for sharing your amazing skills to teach others.
The pattern is amazingly pretty. I am hoping I can do this. I love Ponchos, I want to do this so hoping to be able to follow along. Also want to wear something I made with my own hands.
Joanna I started this tonight and can't put it down.I'm making it for my granddaughter she is nursing her baby and this will be a perfect cover for her and still keep her warm and looking good. I am using Caron cake in Bumbleberry. Thank you for t be easy to follow video.your and excellent teacher.
I bought your pattern but I struggle with reading them. I very much appreciate you making this video. It’s also helping to learn to read patterns. I’m enjoying making this poncho.
Jonna....I just finished Virus Poncho....your tutorial and instructions are very clear to understand...I like the way you show your work as you're crocheting a long...I enjoyed it very much...I hope you'll do more tutorial...thank you so much...!!
I know she took her time to show what she was doing. I am going to take my time, and write down the rows that are repeated so I dont lose track. Great work to all who have completed their Poncho.
I’m making this one now for my granddaughter for Christmas! Your instructions are so clear and you show us exactly how to do each row. I’m using Lion Brand TruBoo…100% rayon from bamboo and it is so slippery!! lol The pattern is easy-it’s the yarn I’m having trouble with! But it is so beautiful, I have to keep going!! Thank you for teaching us so well and for all your beautiful patterns!! ❤️❤️
I am on my last row of this poncho and I love it!!!! I used hobbi cotton king twirls and it looks amazing with your pattern. Thank you so much for posting this tutorial, it's fantastic ❤️👏👏👏
I made two ponchos for myself using this pattern and it is my most favourite poncho pattern! Now I am making one for my niece who is turning 4. I bought your pattern off of Etsy so I can now make this poncho in any size! For my niece I am using 3 colours - lilac, a pretty spring green, and a peachy-pink colour, and I'm using a 3 weight yarn. It's going to be so pretty! I have loads of time to crochet now that I am off work due to COVID-19.
this looks beautiful. And with you doing it not too fast but nice and smooth makes it look doable and so far sounds understandable as you are speaking and doing it before us and 'With Us' so , thanks
I love all of your tutorials. Your voice is sweet, even and clear. I love how you lay out the project, and show us where we are going. That is very helpful for me. I have made a few of your previous projects and can’t wait to buy yarn like this so I can start this poncho. You are an excellent teacher!
It's so Beautiful Jonna! I couldn't understand or retain the Virus Shawl written pattern that well, but watching your video has made me see how to do it so very clear! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us! I Appreciate it!
Thank you! Finally grasped the concept and was able to complete the poncho! I've had a complete mental block to grasping the virus shawls up to this point, it was so frustrating!!

I liked this pattern, although it's a bit more complex than my usual, but after you get in the rhythm it's not too bad. My poncho is coming along beautifully :)
Thank you Jonna for this wonderful video. Very well shown, your voice is very good to understand and the speed at which you work is very easy to follow. Thanks again.
+Sally Allen yes! I love this yarn too. I want to try this in other colors but need to find more crochet time! 😊💕 thank you for watching and commenting 🌸🌸🌸🌸
Excellent tutorial, Jonna. I love your name! How can you tell I am sincere? Because we named one of our 5 daughters JONNA MARIE! She is the youngest at 28. We also have 2 sons. Blessings on you and yours and all your viewers! (I was just reading through the comments and I so appreciate how interactive you are to help people. Thank you!)
+BanDana Gramma that spelling is so uncommon. Thank you so much for the complement 💕I'm very happy you enjoyed my video. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Say hello you Jonna Marie for me.
Fantastic video, step by step I followed and paused and have managed to make my first poncho. So easy to understand, thanks so much. Looking forward to making something else.
excellent tutorial and well shown. so many other sites just rush through . I will be making this at the moment I am making 5 dolls. thanks again for your well deserved tutorial. xx
That was a very well done tutorial! I also love the fingernails and maybe it's just me, but they are real attention-getters and I found them distracting at times. Other than that, excellent!
This is an excellent tutorial. You have simplified it into a way I can understand. The other videos I have watched appeared to be much more evolved for a beginner like myself. Well done. Maren.
Can you tell me how do do this for plus sized women? I really just need the chain ratio for this to work out right for when the virus start is. I am looking for up to 5x, which is not included in the pattern on ralvary
+Bevela Phipps the sizes are mostly just names. I do believe the Large with a larger hook than recommend and a worsted weight like a red heart with love will work well. The regular size for example fits dress size 5-16 in my experience. It's mostly how it fits over the shoulders after row 8 of the virus pattern. Try the large, if it does not fit send me pics and info on hook and yarn you are using. I'm sure I can come up with something, thank you for watching and commenting.
Thanks for posting! Regardless of what the packaging indicates, the Boutique Unforgettable yarn is a lighter weight yarn than the Caron you are using. What size hook did you use for each? Wonderful tutorial!
Love this pattern. I have been looking for a nice poncho pattern and this one is very classy. I made one adjustment, adding in a popcorn stitch in the gap between the shells in round 4 just to challenge myself to do something interesting, and really like the results .
That’s wonderful Evette! Thank you so much. Sorry if I did not recognize your name from other comments in the past. ❤️ I’m very happy you got to make a baby blanket too.
+Daphna Maman I’m so happy to hear this! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! If you would like to share a photo of your work to my Facebook page I would love to see! Siena’s Maine Design.
As my English is not good enough, in German: Herzlichen Dank für dieses Video und die tolle Anleitung.
Wonderful tutorial. Mellow patient voice with clear instructions. Thrilled to discover you, and have started my own, following you as I go. Thank you from Ireland 🇮🇪
+Mille Holst I'm so happy to hear you were able to use my video and make a poncho even with the language barrier. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
It's beautiful Joanna. The tutorial is clear and concise. I am going to start working on this poncho this week. Always wanted to have a piece like this one.. Loads of love to you..
Jonna, I saved the poncho in my pintrest, hubby isn't working and no employment insurance left so just surviving on his naval pension and hoping he either is able to find another job, my disability pension starts or both. Love the tutorial, can wait to be able to buy the pattern. No money totally sucks.
Whenever anyone on a crochet group sees a copy of my poncho, they not only leave the most nice comment, but they ask me if I have a pattern. I always copy and paste your tutorial to introduce them to your channel. I hope they can learn as much as I have from you.
I finished this last weekend and love it, I put a photo on Ravelry. It was so easy I surprised myself as I'm just a beginner. The only thing Ill say to other beginners trying it is you really need to keep count of the stitches, I made a couple of small mistakes but managed to hide them but a big mistake would mean lots of frogging. I'm in Australia and it's almost Summer so I won't get to wear it for quite while but can't wait. Thanks again for this great tutorial. 😀
I did one of these last year. Instead of using one kind of yard, I alternated after each main band of the poncho with four different colors of yarn. It turned out really well!
I love this pattern and how you are very clear and you make it look so easy!!! I started to make this as soon as my hobbii universe fingering yarn arrived..i had to adjust the starting chain of 148 with a 3.50 hook ..measured just slightly bigger which is what I wanted..thank you so much!
Absolutely lovely. This will be a Christmas present for my sister. I start all my projects for Christmas this time of year so its all done well ahead of time. This is the best pattern and tutorial I have seen yet. Thank you.
I love that you have turned the virus pattern into a poncho! So beautiful. I'm making this in Caron Big Cakes, in the colour cherry compote, but I might have to get some of that Red Heart Unforgettable yarn because it's so pretty too! I might make one in black, too.
Just found your channel .. I’m a beginner and have been wanting to make a poncho so bad but those other tutorials look too hard .. the way you explain I am so sure I can make this poncho .. thank you so much ! Finally lol
This is great to hear!! Welcome to my channel! Being that this is my own pattern if you have any extra questions as you go please feel free to message me at my Facebook page or Etsy shop (both Siena’s Maine Design) Or pm me on Instagram. Thank you for watching and commenting! Have fun!

Whenever anyone on a crochet group sees a copy of my poncho, they not only leave the most nice comment, but they ask me if I have a pattern. I always copy and paste your tutorial to introduce them to your channel. I hope they can learn as much as I have from you.
THANK YOU JOANNA IT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL I WILL DO THIS FOR MY MOM, IT IS VERY EASY TO STUDY FROM YOU
+Moon Sunlight these make great gifts! Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm very happy you liked the video!
+Mintybird Johnson that's wonderful! I'm sure it is beautiful!!! Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸 🌸

Wonderful! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I did one of these last year. Instead of using one kind of yard, I alternated after each main band of the poncho with four different colors of yarn. It turned out really well!
This sounds so lovely!! Thank you for watching and commenting.

I love that you have turned the virus pattern into a poncho! So beautiful. I'm making this in Caron Big Cakes, in the colour cherry compote, but I might have to get some of that Red Heart Unforgettable yarn because it's so pretty too! I might make one in black, too.
Thank you. I love it. I can't wait to start. I would like to repeat to watch this again till I have my complete stuff.
