Spending an early summer day at the lake, smoking herbs among the blooming flowers and trees. Riding your bike home, sun-kissed skin, glowing eyes. Arriving home, orchestrating a sandwich, the best you ever had, puring a glass of ice cold mango juice. Dimming the lights, biting into the sandwich, hearing raindrops in the dusk outside. Putting on your headphones, finding out Danit posted a Terence talk about new Dimensions. Life couldn't be better

Amazing talk! Makes me nostalgic for the internet, the potential it had (and might still have) that now is covered by all the social media values which trigger our need to create and produce. In the end there wasn’t a master mind puppeteer behind the internet strings or agenda, it is always a reflection of our own limitations and the need to connect with others which have been marketed to no apparent end. Right now it’s even more counterculture to be anti-internet and return to the “natural” world. However I believe in Terrance’s forecast prediction in which there will effectively be a leap of consciousness which will render anything we’ve ever known until now completely obsolete. Hopefully something good (for who?) will come out of it.

Hi Danit, here are some of my quick thoughts.
1. We are undergoing transformation.
He mentions the dissolution of culture, gender, politics. Although psychedelics and meditation ultimately point towards this, I think it's important to note that as humans, we CLING to ideas that we think are right for everyone. I know in my life, I was "addicted" to the emptiness and bliss I sometimes feel during meditation. However, I cannot just stay in that dimension, because I have a body to take care of, I have roles to fulfil, and there is the wonderful adventure of exploring the planet and enjoying my hobbies. To me, culture is a wonderful part of life, enjoying different foods, expressions, and mannerisms, no matter how flawed. The substance of each culture is the same.
2. Novelty as a proxy of time.
Terence mentions that we live in a time where everything is novel and exponentially increasing. This might lead to the singularity between technology and biology, but possibly at the expense of the environment. I do agree we won't be able to fathom how our species evolve and we might as well get sucked into a black hole. I notice in our times, people are becoming more and more independent. That independence definitely influences "time" as we experience it. Since we no longer have variables to hunt for food or time to rest our minds. Everything is available at our fingertips. In addition, we've gotten addicted to entertainment and forget our very own species are capitalizing on our attention. So although community exists, I don't get the impression that it's as strong as it once was. I feel word of mouth cuts through all the BS.
3. The duality of technology.
Although technology does have positive benefits, I can't but help notice how detrimental it can be. Since the Internet exists, the world moves faster than we can internalize. Every niche is already explored to the depths of the ocean, and is continually expanding. But there is also a repetition of what's already been done. How many original songs have you heard lately? I personally get a sense of dissolution because there's so many things I'm interested in. I do think it's interesting how technology changed the mass media from the viewpoint of the citizen and public, since people now are tailored to their interests through these algorithms. That means the Internet really just exposes the intention of those in power and the self control of those who consume.

Terence ended this talk by saying the next twenty-five years will tell the future of the human race and an interesting juxtaposition would be, what would we might respond to Terence if he were here might say today.
I would tell Terence biggest drug since has been the smartphone-screen in may peoples pocket and seemingly always close by.
Psychedelics themselves on the other hand are beginning to be used in medicine and psychology from anything including addiction, hospice care, PTSD therapy, migraine care via ketamine.
What is being closed down here in the USA are freedoms such as abortion rights and school libraries. Add to that an economy whose income distribution today rivals oligarchies high mark of the early twentieth-century before organized labor changed it, but since the 1970’s organized labor has been in a decline.
The mass media Terence talked about in this talk are not the today with its many gates of control which are hardly discussed or recognized.
‘Information is power’ as Terence said, its control is well under way by those who can and will want to control it. I miss Terence McKenna. ☘

thanks for the comment. At some point we need to make a collaboration, when I've translated the whole book. I'm imagining something like an intro by Terence; his most beautiful countdown from the Big Bang to the Eschaton I consider to be the answer to an incredibly smart question in a talk called "Dreaming awake at the end of time" uploaded 11 years ago by MckennaCountrCulture and nndmtube. The question starts at 1:17:20 - check it out. Transitioning then to my reading of chapter 5 "the Concrescence" when the moment actually came to pass (five dried grams at Dec. 21. 2012, creating a painting). I hope in suggesting something like that I can detach from my own ego-needs "wanting to be heard"; instead I simply think it's time - but I haven't generated much of any of my own viewership in ten years, so my views stay mostly 1 or 2-digit, and I'd need a collaboration like this to reach anybody who even knows Terence. This is a long-term plan if at all, but I wanted to put it out there.

The 1962 topographic map of Ireland is a King holding the Holy Grail, which is a gold skull inscribed OMRY, it's like Mount Rushmore but Biblical and tells the strange story as a "Big Picture" so everyone can understand, there's a red ribbon flowing into the grail inscribed JAWCHOAM, anyone can look, choose the coloured map, not the green one

Obviously some limited concepts based on his time's perspective, but his intuition is astounding. Around 18 minutes "predicting the weather or bond prices" not so much these days... 🤣🤣 plus the fallacy of the myth of physical human progress obscured by the lies of our current narradigm (not for much longer)

On the contrary He always spoke against leadership, gurus, cults, and religious screwballs trying to control people how they think and what to believe . You must be new to mr mckenna he is just a witness like the rest of us. He never said he was Jesus 2.0 or some bullshit like that. He always advocated doing the quest on your own. Don’t watch, dont consume, dont believe, and don’t follow.
