I have had this many times in Philippines at the Chinese restaurant. They also serve quail eggs with it. I was looking for this recipe for a long time and I am glad that I found it. Going to make this very soon. Can I use baby spinach instead of Chinese spinach? Also what kind of mushroom is used in this? Thanks. I am very happy to try this out.
Hi Biji, glad you found my recipe. :) I used champignon mushrooms for this recipe. I have not tried using baby spinach so I am not sure how that will turn out. :)
@@FoxyFolksy Thank you so much. There is a large Chinese grocery store here. Normally they have almost all types of Chinese vegetables. I will go there next weekend and see if I can get. Otherwise will make it with baby spinach. Since I have had this soup many times, should be able to see the difference with baby spinach. Shall post after I make it. Thanks again.
@@BijiTGeorge Hi! Just wondering if you used baby spinach? I don’t think there’s a Chinese grocery story near us so I’m looking for that baby spinach option. Thank you! 🙂
@@argene3715 Hello, I was able to find the Chinese spinach in one of the Chinese Grocery stores we have here. But they call it something different. So, the lady there had to recognize it from the picture I was showing her on the phone and then she was able to identify.

actually no need to add cornstarch. After adding eggs, the soup will be less watery
The cornstarch is to make it silky and thicker.. but it is up to you..:)
Why mine became dark green?
what soupbase did you use?
@@FoxyFolksy same as above but without shrimp. Maybe i boiled it for too long? Does it affect the color when you overcooked?
Maybe it was too much green lo doesn't matter😊
