Thanks for sharing these videos Gail, very informative and fun to watch. I hope you have a wonderful new year and that 2025 is a great year for you and your family. All the best 🎉
Another great video, thanks Gail. I absolutely love Sam Cousans' root over rock Scots pine and was intreagued by his explanation of the September pruning techinique, but the conversation moved on before he was able to finish talking. Can you or Sam elaborate on this techinique please?
Hi. It’s actually on a previous Caz workshop video with that particular scotty. I’ll try to create another video with all it stages over the last year. What you do is prune back the centre bud during the end of the growing session, before the bud gets too big. This should then allow the energy to encourage back budding instead of using its energy to develop that bud. It’s usually around end of July to September but you need to look at the tree as the weather can determine when this happens. I hope that helps.
@@ggevergreenbonsai1259 Thanks for the reply, I've just watched that video and now understand what's being discussed. I'll give that a go with a few of my scotties this year as well as the usual candle pinching I do in May.
Gail I am loving all these Caz workshop videos! Thanks so much and Happy New Year to you!
I’m glad you like them Jay & James. The workshop was a great end to the year. I hope the New Year brings you health, wealth and happiness 😀
