i have one exactly the same colour, iv'e had many bikes since i started riding in 1966, well since i got my licience, and i think it's one of the best bikes iv'e had, in fact iv'e had 3 in the past and i keep coming back to them it just does everything so well, look after them and they will last you a lifetime and get you where you need to go,
love that centre-stand!
Yeah it's really convenient to have!
This bike is a real good one. Of course it lack a little engine power. But globally it is an easy, nice model. Give it oil when it needs, check the valves play as frequently as the manual states and you will enjoy it...until you are ready for a full size.
Smart choice
My first motorcycle needed quite a bit of work and was a bit scammed out, but still it was riding amazing when it was riding and amazing to learn on
Piękny 💚
thanks for sharing
I got the gs500f 2007 has under 20k mikes is that a lot for these bikes ? It runs pretty good with little issues it does Rick kinda a lot but that’s about it
Was my first road bike, they are excellent bikes. Especially for learners
I agree. This was my first bike as well and it was great for me to learn on and have some fun wrenching.
Definitely agree
I can see the smoke coming out right before the exhaust (on the first stroke(?) there was some liquid even). It isn't much, but is something that can be fixed. Anyway it's the best first bike IMO, looking forward to buying one of these.
Just so you know, it's supposed to do that.
Hey, bought the same 2002 model. What kind of grip pad or cover do you have on your tank? I'm looking for something similar.
I'm actually not sure. It came with the bike when I bought it. It is a leather tank bra tho. When I get a chance this weekend I will take it off and see if I can find out who the manufacturer is.
@Baz Bazdad Hey thanks for the advice! I've actually already taken mine off. I had to take it off for a project I was doing for a new video. I can see the silver stripe now on my tank and I like that better.
Where did you get that backrack at? Or know where i can find one? Just got my gs500 and would love that bar
Unfortunately I was never able to find out. There was no manufacturer label on the rack. I can find similar on google by searching GS500 Luggage rack but none like what is on the bike.
👍👍👍👍🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Does it have a low gas indicator? If not how do you control for gas consumption
No unfortunately it does not have anything like that. I usually just gas up every 100 miles to be safe. The bike does have a reserve switch on the gas tank though. A couple of times I have ran out of gas and just had to switch to reserve, that gives me an extra 15 miles to get to a gas station.
@@WidgeTheWiz Great, thanks! Looks like an awesome bike especially for a beginner like me. Kinda looking forward to buy one of these.
@@LoxBeats Awesome man, glad to hear it. You should take a look at the GS500F as well. Basically the same bike just with all the fairings.
Have you ever had problems withe the crank sensor?
Hey Regan, no I haven't had any issues with mine yet. The bike has really low miles though. Have you had issues with yours? What mileage?
@@WidgeTheWiz Also low Mileage, however the guy I got it off layed it over. There are a lot of words for this part (Crank sensor, signal generator ect) I wish I knew where to find one. It's a known issues with the GS 500's. The worst thing is, they are just a little lead with a magnet on the end. anyway good luck!
Ahh I see, my is an 09 naked. I think I'll have to locate a position sensor for it. Thank you for doing the research!
Dude i have the suzuki gs 500e 1996 and i have the same keyring
Nice! I've got another one that says "You can't out shift an auto... but damnit i'll try"
I’m about to buy the 06 model. Why does everyone take the fairings off?
There were multiple versions of this bike. The GS500F came with fairings as denoted by the F in the name. the standard GS500 was a naked bike from the factory.
WidgeTheWiz ok that makes sense. I want to take the fairings off of the one I’m gonna get. I just don’t like how they look on it. Does that impact performance?
@@R3dbeard7.62 Yeah I would say taking the fairings off would impact performance negatively. Fairings help with aerodynamics and rider fatigue because they help deflect the wind.
Good job letting the oil flow before the rev
Yeah the engine was already warm
Hey buddy. What do you say now about this bike? Would you bay it again?
Sorry for my english, I know it is bad🙈 I hope you undertand what I mean.

Hey man thanks for the support! Honestly, I would buy this bike again. It was the right price and in really good condition. The riding position is nice for learning and the bike is easy to work on. I think if I had the option I would get the GS500F though just because I like the benefits of the fully fared version.
How tall are you in this video?
About 170cm
what is the year number and price of it ?
2002, I got it for $2000
Don't know if you still have the bike but there is a hole in the exhaust thought it just say
Yup I still have the bike and yes the hole is still there lol
@@WidgeTheWiz haha hopefully gonna be getting one Tuesday
Just picked up a 2001 for $600
Nice! I'm always an advocate of affordable bikes 👍
Great choice. Keep it. :) Got my like. Drop by when have time. You may like it. :)
