Total non-sequitur to the video or your comment, but I noticed your thumbnail: The Passion of Joan of Arc is my favorite film ever, and I thought you should know that.
3:28 - This is when Joels acid kicks in, just look at that expression! Pedal sounds awesome dudes, this looks like exactly what I want in a muff style pedal!
I’ve been watching hours of the JHS channel, every day, for about a month now. Love it. And this pedal, I am now convinced, is badly needed. I’ll have to remove my Metal Zone from my board to make room. That will be sad, but I’ll keep it in the box, which I still have….
Probably takes the cake as my favorite fuzz pedal ever. The versatility is insane. It's everything good you want in a muff-style fuzz, and none of the bad. What isn't to like? JHS finally has converted me from EQD with this guy. In my opinion, nothing on the market can compete.
I am sure I would not have much of a pedal board if it were not for Josh(JHS) and Keeley. Amazing pedals I have got this year. Keeley Comp +, Keeley Bubble Tron, Keeley D&M drive, JHS Muffuletta, JHS Sweet Tea V3. All bloody amazing.
First off, this video is excellent on multiple levels. Foremost of which being the pedal which is seriously fantastic. In a market rife with brittle, noisy, un-musical, colorless fuzz and OD pedals with corny paint jobs this is just head and shoulders above that heap. I'm not even going to begin to list why because it's obvious. Secondly was using the different guitars, I just dug that, good call. Lastly, playing some material germane to the particular circuit used. Kudos guys.
I've been using jhs pedals for years and they are about as good as it gets!! To me josh is the only one that managed to produce great pedals in all types, modular, overdrive, distortion, and time based. They are all great. And cant say that about any other company. . . So what's all this crap I'm seeing about cloning, and bad production work ect?
Might want to watch either of the two Rig Rundowns for the Black Keys. They use a Green Russian (same as the Black v7d) and not a smaller Black Box as stated here.
I HAVE NEVER OWNED A FUZZ PEDAL BUT OWN MANY OVERDRIVES. INTERESTING TEXTURERS ARE CREATED BY DRIVING PEDAL INTO PEDAL. HAVING HEARD FUZZ NOW I UNDERSTAND THE COMENT I READ FROM A OLD PEDAL RESELLER. THE WORSE IT SOUNDS THE MORE ITS WORTH. TAM
Damn, looking to get a Muffuleta so wanted to check them out. See every new JHS video the day it's released now but obviously not the back catalog. Holy hell is JHS awkward here. Proof reps matter as he's comfortable as shit now. Oh and he hides what a huge man he is very well too now. Hahaha
+tolga şişko True, but the Black Russian Muff is the one the setting was modeled after. Doesn't mean I'm not going to play some Black Keys with it. Sounded pretty dope.
You are right. My bad. I am a little bit obsessed with the big muff and the garage rock sound. I wish I play my Rory Gallagher strat with this pedal and marshall jtm45 and roland space echo. Thanks..
Helps to have a good guitar player demo it! As we all know for some of us...getting a pedal home and then plugging it in if you're not very good doesn't sound as good as you thought it would
@@Notjay95 exactly. It’s so strange when people criticize a video for doing exactly what it intended to but not what they wanted. It’s like me going to a channel to watch a trailer for a superhero movie and being upset that it wasn’t a review for the superhero movie were thinking that it was dumb because it wasn’t a review.
I can die with far fewer concerns and curiosities in life because of such a pedal, you'll never have all these boxes in one room at one time, eh thanks
Really nice for: David Gilmour, Carlos Santana & Tony Iommi ( type-of-tone's ) - among many others. It seems to be really versatile and someone told me it has Sustain for Days ? Now I am confused between: This, Thorpy Muffroom Cloud or Skreedy P-19 ( all great pedals ). ???
+Wendell Laffin That is so weird that you say that it should have been called Fuzzilla because that was the first work that came to mind after watching the video!
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

I was so busy waiting to see Joe's next facial tell that I lost track of the muffs...
+BuzzCrumhunger hahaha same here!
+BuzzCrumhunger ... I meant Joel!
Wow! That Smashing Pumkins tone! This pedal sounds great.
+elitemathlete
There isn't one :(
+elitemathlete Yeah, got a link to this? I'd love to check it out, if indeed it exists
+elitemathlete if there was one, what would that have to do with the pumpkins and heavy fuzz? lol
Im 5 years late to the game...I love this pedal!

He has the box.

This is like a Swiss army muff!
*That's what they say about mine*
Honestly what it should've been named...
This is one of the best pedal ideas ever.
A baby Josh. I’ve been debating on what muff to get after diving head first into pumpkins hard lately, but this scratches all itches
I think this pedal has just changed the game. JHS would be silly not to take this idea for Tonebenders and Fuzz Faces
LeiAherne7 standby, with this and The Bonsai, I think JHSs direction is clearing ...
@@johncougar526 Yeah, the Bonsai is apparently Tube Screamer based, and is cool like this.
Wow!! Your a profit!! He did exactly that!!
@@grahamkelly8299 no way did they
@@leiscwf ... Yes!
Love J. Mascis / Dinosaur Jr. and all that NYC No Wave stuff. Nice to hear some on CME!
I’m not a big fuzz guy but this pedal is changing that. Love it!
Who knew that Ben Affleck could rock like that?
+genxtargetmarket How do you think he got Warner Bros. to give him the Batman gig?
I see him more of a mix between liev Schrieber and Jason sudiekis
+genxtargetmarket It's just acting. Really Sam Harris laid down those grooves.
Should play together with Paul Rudd from Pro Guitar Shop.
+genxtargetmarket There's definitely some Jason Sudeikis and Ben Affleck in there.
Josh, I don't think you have a clue how great this pedal is! :)
Good job playing dinosaur Jr on the JM
I was just about to say that.
wow once again a very musical pedal from JHS. cool demo!
I never knew Josh was a chub scout. Well done!
Holy candlesticks… That is literally Pumpkins in a box on so many of the different settings too…amazing.
Everything about this is epic.
This is some of the best muff tones ive heard, this little box looks awesome!
Might fill that muff hole in my pedalboard. Wait...
I love this pedal. My favourite from JHS so far.
Best settings for me are the Civil War and the Triangle.
Not a big fan of fuzz pedals but that is a great demo video of a great fuzz pedal... well done once again boys.

Beautiful pedal! Thanks, Josh!! Thank you for the demo.
Best Big Muff ever! Amazing tones, nice vídeo too, lots of muff history :)
I was looking for a fuzz pedal. And I'm glad I did not buy any. This is awesome!!
That has a good range of tones. pretty awesome.
For anyone planning to ask: The riff in the beginning is from The Black Keys - I Got Mine
And it's nice and small for a pedalboard too.. Nice job. Sounds very good.
Having a Badger 18 right and loving me some Muff, this one hits the spot real good, cheers!
Awesome! Exactly what I was wanting!
I bought this week, it is very good.
Pedal sounds crazy good!
that's amazing guys
nice playing, awesome pedal, cool vid
keep it up!
That sounds so good already
Want this pedal sooo bad! I have watched this like 10 times

God damn, this is everything I've ever wanted!
Epic! Getting this for sure
Aww. They made a little heart when playing with the knob.
soooooo why does nobody like this pedal? I think it rocks
Joel's face at 3:28 confirms that he's my hero. MBVMBVMBVMBV
Lemmy throw a challenge at CMJ- toneclone video for any track from *Loveless*.
So glad I bought this

sooooo goooood!!!! I need to start saving!!!!
damn you JHS! My wallet is breaking up with me, again!
Impressive demo. Covers any bases i might want covered.
I NEED one of these Muffulettas, ASAP !!!

👏🏻 Great pedal. 😍
I have found my fuzz pedal....great demo...want that harmony
This is insane!
Wished he played in the style of the famous users listed, namely Gilmour ;) but this was still awesome, great player and amazing sounding pedal!
Hahaha
Nice trick there, switching guitars. I'm sure the differences in tone are just the pedal though.
I GOT MINE! WOO!
Really really nice. But Dan uses the green muff not black one
+tolga şişko True, but the Black Russian Muff is the one the setting was modeled after. Doesn't mean I'm not going to play some Black Keys with it. Sounded pretty dope.

I'm obsessed with fuzz pedals. What is the craziest fuzziest fuzz out there?
Can we get a bass demo?
Yes! Love it!
Six modes played through different guitars doesn't really show how the modes react.
Giovanni de Reus totally agree. Dumb. He should’ve used the same guitar with same settings and switched modes so we could
Compare.
This isn’t a review, it’s a promo. They are showcasing sounds it’s capable of making
I can tell you after 2 years it reacts fantastically
@@Notjay95 exactly. It’s so strange when people criticize a video for doing exactly what it intended to but not what they wanted. It’s a demo lol Not a comparison video. If you want a comparison video you can probably go find one. I’m sure JHS even has a comparison video.
Kudos for the Rocket!!
It's nice to see him give the credit where it belongs
I seriously need this in my life.
3:23 I think he just crapped his pants. Not sure what happend 🙉
😂

If you were running through 3 Marshall full stacks you would of have totally nailed that J Mascis tone.

This is like... All my dreams coming true.
Hasn't left my pedal board in a little over 4 years now.
Fab pedal... whats the name of the song/riff at 5.38? Great little lick
Damnit CME. Another paycheck bites the dust...
This thing is a monster fuzz pedal... should have been called "Fuzzilla" lol.
it was a joke bud
lol
its early here... haven't had a coffee yet
+Wendell Laffin agreed xD
+Wendell Laffin That is so weird that you say that it should have been called Fuzzilla because that was the first work that came to mind after watching the video!
Sounds really nice.
WOW! That's the same Strat i had '91
Sounds great!!
Sounds like the Swiss Army Knife of fuzz tones, pretty cool. A bit pricey, but probably not in comparison to owning six individual Muffs.
Ye you can get a big muff for $40 online quite easily second hand, I don’t really think it’s worth it but this pedal is still pretty interesting.
My god, I want one so bad!!!
Any particular reason the JHS mode was paired with a 90s strat and a Siamese Dream-esque riff?
It was “Rocket” by the Pumpkins. A Strat seems fitting for that song. I thought it sounded great.
A++ review!
Wow! I can dig it baby.
so funny how the guitar player is always posing like a model for a magazine when he's not playing guitar lol
I think Wayne Kramer also used a Triangle during the Kick out the James years.
Wow, that sounds fantastic!! I am not a huge fuzz fan but I think I need to buy this one. What is the cost?
need this!!!!!!!!!!!!
This pedal is phenomenal. But we need more finger pointing! :)
can we have a demo for bass???
I’m about to buy one Josh!
Jason Sudekis and Ben Affleck’s kid named Joel 😄Nice Pumpkins 🎃
Great pedal.
wish they didnt change guitars each time so you could be sure of the difference. Still, sounds pretty rad....
That thing had me at Rocket
3:19 Is that Andrew's hands?
+sesshomaru322 Andrew has comedic hands too! There's no end to that guy.
Aaaaaand now I need one.
awesome video! those creepy hands, going out to buy one now!
How does this pedal compare to the newer EHX reissues? Anyone use the Muffuletta?
Hey Josh, what is your favorite transistor to use in a muff?
