Walrus Audio Slö Multi Texture Reverb Tech Demo

- The Slö Multi Texture Reverb allows players to create lush, modulated, sleepy and ambient soundscapes. Stocked with three different algorithms specifically designed to invoke textures for bringing dreams from your subconscious to reality.
The Slö has three different algorithms.
DARK - Add a lower octave to your reverb trail. Here you'll create deep and wide atmospheric sounds and channel nightmarish soundscapes. X knob sets the level of a -1 octave signal that feeds the reverb.
RISE - This is an auto-swell reverb for beautiful cinematic swells. Don't rush it. Let it breathe and gently wake up. X knob sets the amount of time it takes the reverb to swell in after a note is played. Set lower for shorter rise times and higher for longer rise times.
DREAM - Here is a lush reverb with a latching pad function. Press the sustain switch to latch signal. Experiment with the X knob to add vibrato over the pad. Press sustain again and pad will decrescendo according to where decay knob is set. X knob sets the depth of vibrato applied to the reverb trail.
The Slö also features 3 different wave shapes accessible by holding down bypass while switching the algorithm toggle.
SINE - Smooth and even pitch up and down modulation.
WARP - Asymmetric pitch up modulation similar to a warped record.
SINK - Asymmetric pitch down modulation for sinking detune similar to a Bigsby.

this guy definitely has a favourite craft beer
That's funny...but cool
At least he likes good beer.
He definitely plays at church and has no less than four delays on his board.
Ha! I guess I do too. But if you're saying this guy seems like a hipster, I really don't get it. Seems pretty mainstream, average normal to me.
@@jburdsinfuse haters gonna hate.
Yes this is the looking out the car window being sad sound I needed
i believe you've played life is strange
@@AndreasSaag haha perfect
especially from 1:44 to 2:22. Absolute vibes with that
I love the beginning till 1:00
Did no one catch that dark side segment, those 2 seconds of Brain Damage sold me immediately
Same “ the lunatic is in my head “
Or even Radiohead’s house of cards
I’m f**kin done guys. Why do these people have to keep making perfect pedals.
Would only be perfect if it was in stereo
@MIKEY777 you’re so wrong! It be be amazing. They came with with a stereo Julia last year, so I’m hoping for a stereo Slo at some point. These type of effects are completely lost in mono.

Reverb junkies become emotionally compromised.
Can confirm as a reverb junkie
can confirm
Casey J Moreno I can confirm that the earth is not a cold dead place.

Perfect way to calm down after a stressful day. Play the slö to slow down. Falling asleep while playing guitar, after playing for hours, it's addicting.
Kings of Leon at the end

You know, it was kind of random how i stumbled on your company. I've never been much of a gear snob, i just buy impulsively. But over the past couple years, i found myself continuously coming back to you guys. I now have 4 of your pedals, without ever intending to. You guys are my favorite guitar pedal company. Btw thanks for those sweet walrus guitar picks that come in the box.
Wow, thank you so much!
What other pedals do you have?
Walrus Audio, Jackson Audio and Strymon are my favorite pedal companies... The only walrus pedal I have right now is the deep 6 but I plan on buying the slo and the ages in the near future
Is that house of cards by Radiohead I’ve just heard?
indeed
hell yeah
Sure
I mean it was played wrong but who cares sounded great
@@angelosanti9761 it was played right but without the capo on the 3d string, i think he also didnt drop to D
Bought me a Slö 3 month ago. What should I say.....a guitar, an amp, the Slö, an analog delay, a looper like the ditto, perhaps an overdrive and you' re perfect equipped for really any kind of ambient music straight up to psychedelia...all the way up from early 70ties Pink Floydish music to more modern material like, for example, Radiohead Songs.
The Slö is made of high quality, the box itself and also the sound of the reverb. It' s functionally reliable.
The only small criticisms i' ve to make are:
1. that you can't turn the modulation completely off, if you like, and that's impossible to store a modulation setting.
When you turn the Slö off, your setting is erased.
2. ...and In my eyes it' s even more annoying, that the really fantastic Slö-sounds are only in mono. -
Imagine, the astounding ambient textures of the Slö could be producted in a full and bright range stereo image setting!! Perhaps the designers will give the Slö Stereo Outputs in a future following Slö Mark-2?? That would be really awesome!
In this one it's also a bit fumbly to fix a certain modulation by turning the effects depth knob simultanously with holding the bypass switch pressed.
But that's not a geat thing!
Really helpful and great sounding is the "hold" function (by pressing the "sustain" foot knob) When holding pressed, you can let your "symphonical sound dream" big ambient reverbing on forever 'til judgement day!!🌠 (if you' d like to have it this way!),😉
All in all it' s a very great device if - and that's really important! - you' re NOT looking for standard reverb sounds!! -
There are no presets like "spring", "room", "hall" or anything like that and the Slö isn't designed to create such sounds!
I've got another stompbox for these reverbs.
But if you're out for experimental, ambient, strange and "cosmic" sounding sound textures THIS IS THE DEFINITELY ULTIMATE REVERB FOR YOU!
- Look out for outer space tranquility with this astonishing sounding device - it's really unique!-
Keep rocking thru your dream times with a Slö!

Reading this comment while the video played and right as I read the words “Pink Floyd” he started playing a Pink Floyd Riff.
I would reccomend getting a Red Panda Particle Delay if you want to unlock a bunch of new sounds that are great for ambient music.
So we’re understandably excited about Explosions, but let’s not ignore the Radiohead bit
Explosions, like Explosions in the Sky kinda Explosions? Or what
@@yesiamadorito he played Your Hand In Mine, so....yep!
@@yesiamadorito If you look closely, at one part the words “Clear minds. Full hearts” appear... this is the line from Friday Night Lights, which put EITS on the map (that movie made EITS, and EITS made that movie)
Such an underrated track. Nice to see someone else dig it.
I appreciate you playing House of Cards. In Rainbows is my favorite album. Sold Me.
definitely my next pedal i'll buy. incredible sounds!
Whew I've had my eye on this one for a while. I think it'll be my next gear purchase.
Thanks intended for furnishing many of these superb information.
This pedal rocks! I am intrigued. 👍
Every time I feel like I am FINALLY finished collecting reverb pedals....
such a beautiful & deep reverb technology in a simple thing...it's soothing
Wow... Gonna go buy this asap. It has all the reverb styles I want in one pedal
I'm definitely adding this to my list of pedals I want. Such such a different take on a reverb pedal without it being too gimmicky.
I've been using this pedal for about two years now and there's a ton to this pedal that I am still learning. My favorite mode (or algorithm) of this pedal is the dream/sink mode with the use of the sustain. This pedal has so much, heck I'm here just to figure out how it still to this day. I have a few pedals that stay on my board when i cycle my board, but this pedal is one that stays on for me, I can't think of anything i would use to replace it at the moment.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing that!!
What genre of music do you play?
@@lindokuhlemsibi3914 I've been genre-jumping, I enjoy bands like The Mars Volta (prog/Latin/rock), The Contortionist (metal), Loathe (metal), Radiohead, and experimental stuff like Tim Hecker or Sigur Rós. I have this pedal currently with my Life Pedal V3 by Earthquake devices and a Boss DD8 pedal.
Watching this in excited anticipation of the Slötva I just got for Christmas
This is such a gorgeous invention. The first riff is heartbreakingly beautiful with the effect
I live that lower octave washing in behind. So huge sounding
Just shared this on my community it has uplifting quality that will enlighten my soul when I get it!!
It's been a while since I was so blown away by a guitar fx pedal. Wish I could click the like button multiple times for this one.
Used this on my acoustic - it sounds amazing
The reverb is fantastic, and that guitar looks terrific!
Sonic inspiration in a box! Excellent demo & playing.
Haha "You knew this one was coming." Man I love yalls pedals, almost considering swapping this with my Descent verb.
After eyeing this up for about a year... I've finally given in. Just ordered one and now I'm beyond excited
yesss!
I’ve been also haunting around this pedal for almost a year and about 2 weeks ago I bought a fathom instead, became obsessed with it, today I bought an arp-87, and NOW I’m wanting the SLO! Lol FMW. (Fuk My Wallet)
Great demo of a great pedal !
Really really good production value

Jeez... that was a top notch ad. That pedal is sublime.
I heard the plums in the beginning! Cool effects

Would always love such Videos for Acoustic guitar aswell.
Beautiful playing with nice sensitivity.....great demo!

Oh god my wallet
Modular synth builders say... Hold my beer!
Gonna buy it tomorrow, who needs food if you can have this XD
@@Poejor97 should I buy
@@nif3046 if you like psychedelic, hypnotizing sounds definitely. Best combine it with a modular- customizable delay (like boss dd7) , i did not once regret the purchase of the slö.
With the right settings you will hypnotize yourself (and listeners). Yesterday I played 4 hours without even realizing it, because I was transcended into a
Higher state of guitarism by the psychedelicness. Play around with the settings (and also your other pedals/amp) and you will get trippy with this :P
Floyd and EITS... WONDERFUL !!! 🤩
I’m falling asleep listening to this, which isn’t a bad thing necessarily. It’s soothing and relaxing.
Such a beautiful pedal!
I’m gonna run my soprano saxophone thru this pedal soon I’m so excited
I was hoping for some Slowdive riffs...but you guys literally just sold me on this pedal simply by playing “Your Hand In Mine” take my money!!!!
We knew that was coming... and yet, our hearts skipped a beat when it did.
This is the rainy day pedal I've always dreamed of. Now I just need some coffee and a bay window.
This damn video and the explosions in the sky snippet made me buy this pedal. Waiting for it to arrive....
Hands down best pedal I’ve ever heard. Nothing I’ve heard even comes close
This blessed my reverb junkie soul
The quality of this video is outstanding!
Thank you!
The best demo i've ever seen, bought one immediately.
Zuxul thank you!
Great tool -great playing too, so!!!
that gave me ASMR and almost put me to sleep.
This pedal would sound so good with my Julia Chorus, Canyon Delay and Red Panda Particle Delay! Definitely going to be the next pedal I buy.
Sounds great! I would like to hear a demo of it with a bass guitar!!
And then you hit me with Explosions, you sir have toyed with my emotions haha. Can’t wait to dial that in and try when I get home today!

Gorgeous pedal and playing. Love the Radiohead.
Damn, thought I was the only one😂
Why am I just now seeing this, sounds like a great pedal!
Walrusaudioeffects has SO MANY great pedals. They're one of the top companies out there without question. One of my favorites is the walrusaudioeffects Deep Six Compressor which is the first pedal on my board and always on. It would match perfectly with this Slo pedal.
I really buy a lot of your pedals for the awesome graphics. I love this moon design. The fact that the pedal sounds great too is a bonus.
Thanks!!
perfect marketing as well lol
it was an instant buy for me as soon as you started playing Explosions In The Sky
Oh yes this is what I’m looking for ,within the first second goose bumps
Picked this pedal up a couple of days ago. One of the best pedals ive ever used by far.

I never was one much for ambient reverbs or chorus pedals. You guys sold me. I just picked up this and a Julia V2. So great.
Thank you!!
Love that KoL at the end.
Excellence you can really feel
amazing sounding modulated reverb. its easily one of my favorite ones to pair with a cheap synth for nice wonky-down-the-rabbit-hole jams. straight up ambient generator in a box.
Thanks!
simply put, the coolest pedal of the decade. No kidding. Thanks for the musical landscapes you are making me exoplore.
herbertbeiderbecke thank you for the kind words!
my all time favorite
Music from the Hearts of Space.... just got it today.....lovely and NOT disappointed!
I also heard pink floyd- Brain damage @3:00 Very nice
This is an amazing pedal and it does sound amazing for landscape sounds and deep slow quakes, I usually play with tele, but used my 335 DOT, it did sound the best. I would buy again in a minute.
Thank you!
I heard the fathom was a better all rounder and this is more "out-there" so I got this. Now im glad I did because it seems to do both well. Cant wait til it comes in
I think this reverb pedal is the one that I've been looking for.
After 2 weeks of using, i've sold it and replaced it for an Oceans 11. For me, it's too much for church use. Especially when your church piano/organ has pads and sustain to it.
@@taborlin8595 for me, the reverb options are more suited for a church setting
Im in love with the Dark Mode from the moment you started playing the guitar til 1:00
