Thanks for sharing. This is one of the challenges with Empi parts- the intention is positive but the quality often can’t keep up. I wish we could buy new parts and just have them work. It’s good that you were able to modify the part and have it work. Definitely some valuable lessons in this video.
@@jeffbannon1345 thank you I appreciate it! That’s actually a Brazilian beam. A lot of the narrow beams, and some of the aftermarkets do that. Now I gotta take it all back off so I can paint the beam lol I hope you had a great holiday.
I’m replacing the suspension of my 71 SB convertible. Where did u get the tire rods and the like. Thanks much. Can’t seem to rember u switch to Fridays 😢
@@RJLM330 yes I did switch to Fridays. It seemed a little bit easier for everybody. Sometimes we stay on light when we were chatting and having fun Since it is super beetle, honestly I would use top line VW. Their parts are very nice.
Looking good Slade... How long do you think it will take until the bug is completely finished? Looking forward to it... See you next video.. Take care and God Bless...
@@garyjones2582 hey my VW brother, it’ll be done in the spring. When filming it takes 10 times longer to complete the car, but I’m sure you figured out. Can’t wait till it’s on red. God bless my friend.
Question I have a 72 Superbeetle that has the wiring Melted from a Big Stereo I had in it back in the 80’s I attempted the Taillights and Flashers and now I have a mess even the Key switch won’t work now it’s the latest thing to Go but I can hot wire it to the coil and to the Starter and it will Run it’s in Great Shape but Worthless because of the Wiring! It Still has a Generator and Voltage Regulator and I don’t understand Wiring! Is there a Video or Someone in or around Springfield Mo that could help Revive my First Car new !
@@johnbucklerfarms I’m not familiar with that area, my friend. If the wiring is in really bad shape. I would highly recommend using Wolfsburg West, with a new wiring harness and a great diagram they give you with it.
@ I don’t remember in the past it being a problem, but I just did that one in my blue chop, after I fought it for two hours , and after it rubbed the tube that the column fits threw , so much fun . Hope you had a great thanksgiving
@@trevorallan1340 as vintage 76 said, it’s too clear the tires from the fenders, especially if you are lowering the front end you would need to narrow it to tuck the tires up inside
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetlea new fad is using thin wheels and tires with the narrowed beams, which defeats the purpose and makes the cars look like tricycles, not to mention the possibility of the tires rubbing against the body, rubber brake hoses and chassis. A friend bought a ‘67 with a narrowed beam and had to put 1” spacers to have the car look and perform properly.
@@vayabroder729 I like the look of the 5.5 wide wheels over the stock wheels. Plus the stock size tires are expensive. 185/65R15 tires are available locally.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle those sizes are nice and fit at least the rears; a friend uses it. So I gather that fitting those at the front is more challenging.

Nice explanation
What is the reason for narrowing the front beam?
The reason is to clear, the tires off the fenders.
