Release date is expected by the community to be announced at this year's CitizenCon in October. The intro with the flipping characters was just a visual representation of character creation for the main character. S42 takes place in 2945 and the current year in lore is 2954. It follows our own timeline day by day so just add 930 to our own year. The aliens at the end are the Van'Duul. There are other alien races in lore that are (currently) peaceful with humans like the Xi'an, Banu and Tevaran. Theres a lot of cool lore in this game. Great video man. Keep it up.
the varying characters doing the message to "Mother" is depicting the Player Character for Squadron 42 as the Character Creation aspect of SC is also part of S42.

5:20.... yes... I thought the same and so did many other content creators. Many of us went, "Oh wow they recreated Manchester in SQ42!" but that kind of is a testament to just how good the in-game graphics are.
@@GaijinGamerGirl I only said that because you are regurgitating the same misinformation about Star Citizen as many others who just want to see this game fail. Star citizen is alive and well and quite frankly, it is just now truly getting started. You will see. I believe in the project. Many games take 5-6 years to develop into something that is 1,000,000 times less ambitious than what Star Citizen is becoming. Most of the pieces are in place. One final major piece is on its way, and has already proven to work well. Once it is in, CIG can then focus all their power getting content, locations, and missions into the game. We are on the home stretch for all the foundational tech to be in the game.
19:30 The initial Kickstarter was for the development of BOTH the single player campaign (SQ42) and the persistent universe (SC) they weren't separate games as such at that point. After they became separate games, for many years you could buy a package that included both games. A lot of people will have supported the development of both games while primarily being interested in one of the two. Of course there are a lot of systems and assets that are being shared by both projects. While I initially supported the project for SQ42, I have also become a fan of SC. As a space sim fan, there is a lot to love in both projects. Decades ago, I was a massive fan of the early Wing Commander games of which SQ42 is the spiritual successor.
Thanks for holding the line for everyone after. I've known about SC since the beginning but didn't start backing until a 4 years ago. It sucks seeing so many day 1 backers grow impatient and bitter with CiG overtime. This was never going to be a swift and easy journey in the first place. But somewhere along that line, alot of people gave up and stopped taking SC serious. It's good to see that misconception corrected. SC will be the best game made to date imho. Even trumping GTA.
@@durtyred86 I'm a backer from about a month later the same year as the OP. There are backers that have left permanently, that's true. Those people started to doubt the project’s viability. Those people exist, but they're a small minority. I don't think it's accurate to say, "so many day-1 backers". I strongly believe most of us are here waiting and following the project. I know many backers that are just waiting for the game to solidify and improve performance and reliability. The game is great, and it was fun for a while to jump in and explore. But performance degrades from build to build unless you continue rebuilding and upgrading your rig. That's just too expensive for waiting years. It's also disappointing to put time and effort into getting something done in the game only to have the game take it all away from you. I check in once a build to see how the game is progressing, and I watch ALL the CIG content and read all the official news. I also watch everything else that looks interesting to me. 3.23 is looking much better, but for me it's not quite there yet. Many of the original backers feel this way after playing, streaming and doing videos every day for years. But most of those same backers have spent a lot on the project because they believe in it. That has not changed. We're just waiting for the project we put our time and money into to come to fruition.
That is cool to hear since I started backing back in mid 2014 and I am still supporting them and I have no intentions of stopping. Hope to see you in the verse someday and thank you for your support as well.
It truly is an all star cast. They even got Henry Cavill but they don't show him in this trailer. I can't wait for Squadron 42 to come out. After playing the campaign, you can continue your adventures in the MMO Star Citizen.
All of this is in engine; it is 7 years in the past to the Star Citizen game ( the MMO ) ; Vega is not currently in the PU ( persisten universe of Star Citizen - the MMO ); Yes - Javelin will be player owned, and if you look now, some players are flying it nowdays even ( but as a stolen ship 😜 ) ; it was shown that you can crate your own character, who were sending a message to their mother; We all fell for that Menchester pan of the view 😜; Dont mind the dropping fps ... the polishing phase is exactly for that 😌
SC has only 1 star system in game now, Stanton, but the systems SQ42 takes place in will be added after its out and are near Stanton. The second system Pyro is coming in this year with the new static server mesh tech for alpha 4.0. It's the next patch after 3.23.x branch finishes so right around the corner. The Javelin Class Destroyer is the biggest playable ship in the MMO but is only an NPC version now. It has beds for 80 crew but only needs 24 players to operate all its systems. We get to tour the SQ42 version at events sometimes and in 3.23 some players board & steal it sometimes like the Idris frigate. The letter to Mother scene is the player character which is customizable, and voice acted for all the drama scenes so you will be in the story and in game cinematics. Your SQ42 character will also be able to retire and go over to the MMO side with some reward perks with a war veteran title after beating the game. Our Star Citizen characters are usable in Arena Commander now. The F8 flew by right before Captain McClaren mentions it, but the civilian variant is playable in the MMO already. Come to ILW event starting May 17 and you can rent and test fly one for free on the day its displayed in the show halls or final event day from the kiosks there. SQ42 is a part of the 680M dollar pool the SC project has raised to date. All that money and time took 5 people from nothing to establishing a studio, building Star Engine, making Arena Commander which was a test bed to making the MMO SC, which was the testbed to develop all the tech needed for Squadron 42 and its planned 3 game trilogy. All these endeavors were done in parallel and partly why it has taken so long and cost so much. It wasn't 600M+ for one game as some stories say, its all of it. Democratized development we voted on (too many) features and watched evolved from literally patch 0.1 which was an empty white box room with some sample assets to play around with to the state you see today. SQ42 takes place right before the time the MMO is in to setup its lore and the state of the universe. The trailer on the Javelin and Gary Oldman's speech are all in the intro. The story starts out with aliens played by Andy Sirkis (Golum from LOTR) attacking Vega after they quickly took other border systems and is a Pearl Harbor moment that galvanizes the empire. Your character survives the battle and gets into flight school and the playable game starts as you are assigned to your first ship. Mark Hamil is your wingman with Liam Cuningham and Rhona Mitra are your ship's captain and XO. After dealing with a pirate syndicate to cut your teeth in the seat you will later get involved with the war managed by Gary Oldman (Admiral Bishop) and Jillian Anderson (Captain McClaren). In the OG Wing Commander, they were one of the Pioneers of putting famous actors in games and Mark Hamil and John Rhys Davies were the first in WC so seeing them together again in SC is very nostalgic.
you were asking about the timeline on this trailer, this is in the past , yes its still in the SC universe, and its on Vega system where that fought took place between the UEE vs Vanduul, which is those alien race you see right at the end of the video. Currently in Star Citizen, we only play on Stanton system, but Pyro is the next star system that they will release.
The F8, Javelin, and many other military craft you should be able to see at the upcoming in game event, Invictus which starts on May 17th. I know in previous years they had interior tours of the Javelin which would dock while the Bengal carrier would do a flight around the Low Earth Orbit stations that are above landing zones.
You asked if they ever explained what happened to earth. If you’re interested I recommend a channel called TheAstroHistorian. He goes into depth of every aspect of Star citizen lore, and the lore goes very very deep. It’s all very interesting. :)
Current lore is that Earth is still the capitol of the Empire (United Empire of Earth); but, Terra is a highly populated colony system that is closing in on replacing it as the capitol / becoming a 2nd capitol (think Rome and Constantinople). Years ago, it was mentioned that one inspiration for this universe was actually the fall of the Roman empire. The main alien enemy race (the Vanduul) are named after the Vandals, one of the invading tribes that overthrew the Western Roman Empire.
Henry Cavill has a cameo as a fighter pilot. He asked Chris Roberts R for a cameo ( Cavill is a big gaming nerd and builds his own computers) and did it for free just to be in the game. 😎
Some clarification on some of the comments. You don't get a Javelin in SQ42; but you can get one in Star Citizen. At least part of the SQ42 story takes place on a Javelin; but you are crew; not command. The release date for SQ42 has not been announced; but a release date is expected to be announced at Citizen Con this year (in October if I remember correctly) at the event which will be held in Manchester England. The 'cut scenes' you mentioned shouldn't have any cuts. The 'cut scenes' should be all seamlessly integrated into the game as far as I know (possible I could be wrong; but I think that was their goal).
CIG made the largest motion capture studio in all of Europe. A lot of the tech seen in this trailer was NOT in Star Citizen at the time. Since this video is October, they are starting to put that tech into the game. Patch 3.23 just went LIVE this week and we just got the new targeting, the new EVA and the new ship combat called Master Mode. And those are just a few of the new changes hitting the Persistent Universe (PU). Pretty much, the PU funded SQ42's development and remember they will be 3 RPG games. Like Mass Effect.... And then SQ42 will help pay for the overall continued development of the MMO version.
I cannot wait for this game! I remember seeing an old UA-cam video showing a hangar and has no idea what it was. I shrugged it off and moved on. Then around 2018, UA-cam suggested a Star Citizen video to me showing its potential. It sold itself to me the moment I saw you could walk around an entire planet, hop into a spaceship, walk around said spaceship, takeoff, leave the atmosphere, quantum travel to another planet, enter the atmosphere, land, and walk or drive a car around a different planet, all without a single loading screen. This blew me away! I grew up a console gamer and all I had was a PlayStation 4 Pro. I had always wanted a PC, but never could afford one as a kid. Then that video I watched peaked my interest so much, that I decided to build me a pc 1 piece at a time over the course of a year. 2019 rolls around and I watched the previous year’s Citizencon presentation. It introduced the new planet Microtech (the snowy planet) with a cool string of missions that had the player infiltrate a facility and steal data from it. The mission started going south as they were leaving and hopped into the future Carrack (at the time) and engaged in some low atmo combat until they were finally able to leave. Then we got the first sneak peak of Pyro and the Jumpgate ( honestly miss the design of that jumpgate compared to the new wormhole looking design) I knew I had to finally get that PC built. So that was the final straw that convinced me that I needed to get that thing built. Now 5 years later, I still hop in and play this amazing experience!
Lore wise, at this point no Human fleet has ever gone toe to toe against the Vanduul and lived - the different characters are writing their last letter home, even though they don't actually send it, the expectation is this will be their last battle. Vega is the system, II is the planet number from the star. And Soon (tm) you will be able to fly on a Javelin if you know someone who has one.
For those of you who may not be aware of this but mostly all those actors you see on the screen are friends with Chris Roberts. In addition, there's another actor that will be in squadron 42 that actually told his agent to get him a role in this game and his name is Henry Cavill. I also understand that I believe he is a supporter of the game as well and I believe he will be playing the game too. He's also a big PC gamer like the rest of us.
Another thing about squadron 42 that I forgot to tell many of you who read this comment. SQ 42 is the story before Star Citizen and all the planets that you will visit in that game will be added into SC as well. So if you decide to get SQ 40 to make sure you have a note pad of paper next to you while playing so you can take some notes. Because the information that you gather will be helpful and valuable for you to use in SC if you decide to get the game.
We don't have a release date as they stated they want to be sure thi time before saying anything (Chris said they will tell us shortly before the game goes gold). For Lore, this universe has SOOOO MUCH that not many people know about. They already have the base lore for 100 StarSystems and a general outline for the lore of humanity from 2012 (in our world) til 2954 (which is the current year in the Multiplayer universe). Of course, some parts of this timeline are more fleshed out than others but we know how Humanity got to the point they are now. The lore is actually quite crazy. I have only heard a very small amount but for me it is the perfect mix of more realistic (not StarWars type lore) but also not too realistic so that we can have some fun with it (not Startrek or even Expanse) The script of the game is already very old as they rebooted the game once in 2016 (because the tech had changed so much). With that they also decided to cut the script into 3 games because it would have been way to much for a single game. So, this is part 1 and the script was written for 3 games. Because Mocap is also pretty old now (especially from the big-name actors), it could very well be that they actually recorded Mocap for all 3 games already though they will probably change parts of the next two games (if the first one is successful) so that it feels right as a sequel. When do we get this game? Well, not even CIG knows 100%, which is why they don't say a date yet BUT from all they have been saying to backers they NEED to make a statement this year at CitizenCon (October). Almost every backer is expecting a release-date (or at least window) to be announced at that event and if, for whatever reason, they aren't ready yet they need to have good explanations ready to keep backers at least somewhat calm. So, I would say expect a good amount of news this year in October. Before that I think we will not get much as they probably want to bundle all announcements for that event.
The Javelin is $4000 USD and only available to concierge players (anyone who has spent $1000 USD or above) it appears in-game as an NPC but it will not become available to players until sometime after SQ42 fully releases. Until then it is sold as a concept ship in limited numbers, it goes on sale again on May 21st for Invictus.
I’ve been awaiting SQ42 since I joined the verse in late 2017. I’ve put only and handful of hours into SC but man I’m glad I’ve been so patient. This is really becoming a masterpiece
Earth is still around in SC and is the offical capital of the UEE. According to in-game lore there's a lot of debate around the topic of changing humanity's capital to Terra, a very important planet in another system that has eclipsed Earth in economic and cultural significance, however nothing has come of it so far.
There is no public release date yet, but everyone's assuming we'll get a release date at this year's citizencon. From leaks, we know they're aiming for a holiday 2024 release date and are, so far at least, on track for it.
Star Citizen was initially pitched as Squadron 42, which was planned to be a single player campaign from which you could enter a dynamic sandbox universe to fly around and basically live in. The project “split” in 2014 after CIG polled their backers to work out what they preferred to see and the community almost unanimously chose to separate the two projects. The slow development of Squadron 42 is the biggest reason why development on Star Citizen has been pushed on to the point that people are feeling like it’s a scam. The F8A Lightning is the UEE Navy's cutting edge space-superiority fighter. Alpha Testers are able to fly the civilian variant, the F8C Lightning, but only if they earned access to it either via having pledged a combined total of $10000 to the game (to earn Wing Commander concierge status) or by having earned the ability to purchase the ship on the pledge store by redeeming a golden ticket that they can obtain during limited special events. The intention is to grant access to it to everyone once they'd completed Squadron 42 up to the point that they can fly the F8A. The shift between characters in the beginning is showcasing the game's character creator and, yes, that is the player character sending that message.
I was thinking that a lot of those locations in Squadron 42 were done by a good number of people (70% of the team). These developers and graphic designers have now jumped on Star Citizen. Could it be that right after Pyro comes Nyx, Magnus and Terra?
I wouldn't be surprised if we get the Odin and Vega systems shortly after Squadron 42 is released as well (assuming that the connecting systems in between them and Stanton are ready by then). Of course, there *has* been mention of them wanting to make Jumppoint connections (wormholes) be unstable and moving around from time to to time (at least in some cases). This could let them connect to certain systems before those in between are finished (skipping them).
If I was a starting on UA-cam and liked SC. I would learn SC and play S42 When it finally releases. There will be a need for tutorial videos. as well as gameplay. Be quick and ready with the vids. Keep recording what you learn now, as a reminder for the tutorial vids. I want to make it clear SC and S42 will be so huge it will become a event! After the initial release hype, will it keep it`s player base after a couple months of release? The multi million dollar question.
There are a surprising amount of well known actors in this game. Gary oldman, Mark Strong, Mark Hamil, Henry Cavill, John Rhys-Davies, Liam Cunningham, Gillian Anderson, and more. Even Andy Serkis doing the voice and Mocap for some of the aliens seen at the end of this trailer.
It seems to have some sort of HUD ‘scanner’ for proximity of people around you like Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts. Something I find quite useful, and would like to see in Star Citizen to apply for both sides in bounty hunting when the God marker disappears once you’re within say 2km of a the target player.
Earth is still around in Star Citizen. It's considered the "capital" of the UEE. There are those who want to move the capital to a system called Terra. Feature Complete is a development term ... it basically means that everything that is going into the game is in the game. They are just polishing and optimizing now. I think of it as moving from Alpha to Beta, though I don't know that's completely accurate. Squadron 42 and Star Citizen were a part of the same campaign. Original packages included both games, but they have since split it into a separate purchase. I don't know that there is any "DLC" planned for Squadron 42, but there will be two more installations ... sort of 3 acts ... and I believe those other installations will have to be purchased. No updates on the release date right now ... they've been a bit more gunshy about giving release dates for things since they've often turned out inaccurate. It saves them from the difficult decision of pushing a date and disappointing people or being forced to release something before it's done and disappointing people. Neither is a great option. Pushing that announcement until later means it's more likely to be accurate.
The alien (vanduul) that cuts through the ship hull and enters at the end is also famous - acted by Andy Serkis.. In all there are more than 100 actors in the credits and it has its own IMDB page with a cast list more studded than most hollywood movies.
Javelin is the largest ship a single player can own and spawn. The Bengal and other "actual capital ships" will be unique, constant assets in the universe, which players can potentially claim and use, but will be the end-game content for the biggest and baddest player orgs, not any individual player. Again, you log off, the ship stays where it is. Good luck :D
Actors you couldn't name are: 15:31: Jack Hudson 15:58: Ben Mendelsohn 16:09: Liam Cunningham 16:16: Rhona Mitra (Fun Fact: in the mid to late 90s she was the model that Core Design employed as Lara Croft for Game shows and events) 16:27: Sandi Roberts (Chris Roberts Wife) 16:30: This is the player character and thus can be edited to look how the player wants, voiced by Ian Duncan for male and Alix Wilton Regan for female. Not show in this video: Henry Cavill Craig Fairbrass (He had a unique character rig in game due to his irl size) Harry Treadaway
Vega is a star system which is not currently accessible in the game. You will be able to own a Javelin. The different characters at the beginning are showing off the character customization. Yeah Squadron 42 is a single player story driven campaign.
The plan is to eventually include both the Vega and Odin systems (that Squadron 42 is set in) into Star Citizen's Persistent Universe. In fact, the plan has always been to eventually include 100 solar systems in the game. Squadron 42 is also intended to be a trilogy of single player games.
After SQ42 is released (should be in the next 6 months give or take) most of these features/animations etc will be making their way into Star Citizen.. Some already are, but the ship stuff will probably be a more lengthy process
2:29 yes we can get that, unfortunatly for now it's the biggest ship player can get, but the biggest ship in the game is 10 time larger than this (not 10 times but almost, for reference Javelin is 480 meters, Retribution is 3300 meters ) In the futur players (but especially corpos, would fight for control of Bengals which is 1000 meters and carry a transit system in it
You create your own character and what they are showing early with the different people reading the letter, is showing a few examples of what your character could look like. Ala making your own.
10:35 Earth is still alive and well. Its one of the central hubs of the UEE, along with the Terra system. It will likely be a long while before it's actually in game, because it's one of the largest systems in the SC universe, as well as the only one that's actually real and thus will take a lot more work to make.
Given that Squadron 42 is supposed to be a trilogy of games, I'm sure that they'll migrate the required people back over when it's time to start working on part 2. Until then, they're going to be more useful getting Star Citizen to version 1.0 (official release). Even then, Squadron 42 parts 2 and 3 are unlikely to require quite as much technological development resources as part 1 did; and, as much as Star Citizen will continue to need in the near future.
We haven't date yet, but it's in polish phase so we can estimate when it will be release, IF you want to make things right you have 1 year minimum of polish Especially for game like this personnally i would say 2 years so the release date in my opinion will be around December 2025
SQ42 will have Interactive cut-scenes. You can either watch it like normal, or walk around while it's happening. Star Citizen will also have these story driven cut scenes. Eventually. Like any MMO with Story Progression, same thing here.
This game will redefine gaming for the good or the bad. Good will be every company steps up and innovates, and bad will be companies stay stagnant while CIG continues to innovate.
That was an amazingly well written synopsis of the history of SC and SQ42, the project as a whole and a little sneak peek at the SQ42 story! Well done!!! 💯👍
I think it would be better if Squadron was set in the present or the future. If it's in the past, they are unable to make any permanent, major changes to the universe. We know how it ends up based on the state of the PU.
Keep in mind that nothing will prevent the Persistent Universe of Star Citizen from having dynamic events; like a Vanduul invasion that takes over multiple systems / the players having to wage a back and forth war for control of certain systems. I remember hearing, years ago, the narrative dev team (or possibly Chris Roberts) saying that one of the major inspirations for the theme of Star Citizen was the fall of the Roman Empire. The Vandals were one of the Germanic tribes that invaded and helped conquer the Western Roman Empire. Earth and Terra are being presented as potential rival capitols of the empire; much like Rome and Constantinople were. Maybe, eventually, we'll see the Vanduul invade Earth; causing Terra to become the new capitol, with players being sent in to help liberate Earth?
It's how the British navy refers to female officers. Since CIG is primarily based in the UK, that's the tradition they went with. It's also a trope that we see pretty commonly in sci-fi.
Cutscenes are as interactive as a film. i.e not at all. - Keep them to the minimum between chapters as a respite for the player - Squadron 42 is going to be mission driven, no clue as to how linear or on rails it will be. I doubt it's going to have the scope of X4: Foundations which is a sandbox experience within a star cluster of many many solar systems.
The devs have actually stated that the player retains full control of their character during "cutscenes" where the character is present. They've said that you can even walk away during them if you want.
Star Citizen (meaning squadron 42 as well) is known for being buggy and breaking, Star Citizen devs just don't care, even with the latest and greatest intel+nvidia combo you won't get playability in this game and will constantly get crashes due to bad servers and game engine losing hours of progress. Worst game engine ever created and after 10+ years of open alpha they're too invested in "ship showcasing" for money and getting drunk at conferences and gatherings with the community to care about the actual gameplay.
Well, this is bitter af. Anyway, many if not most bugs can be tracked back to underperforming servers which won't really affect single player campaign. Engine by itself is fine.
Your volume mix is way low. What you are viewing is barely audible when your speaking voice is at a comfortable level. Good reacts though! Welcome to the 'verse, citizen
Release date is expected by the community to be announced at this year's CitizenCon in October.

they dont show him but he is in the trailer. he is one of the F7A pilots in the opening sequence. if you listen carefully you can recognize his voice.
All of this is in engine; it is 7 years in the past to the Star Citizen game ( the MMO ) ; Vega is not currently in the PU ( persisten universe of Star Citizen - the MMO ); Yes - Javelin will be player owned, and if you look now, some players are flying it nowdays even ( but as a stolen ship 😜 ) ; it was shown that you can crate your own character, who were sending a message to their mother; We all fell for that Menchester pan of the view 😜; Dont mind the dropping fps ... the polishing phase is exactly for that 😌
Vega is not in SC just yet, it's planned for a future addition.
Thank you for this. Great explanation of the timeline for SC and SQ42.
you were asking about the timeline on this trailer, this is in the past , yes its still in the SC universe, and its on Vega system where that fought took place between the UEE vs Vanduul, which is those alien race you see right at the end of the video. Currently in Star Citizen, we only play on Stanton system, but Pyro is the next star system that they will release.
So SQ42 is the single player story portion of Star citizen world, we should get more release info during citizen con near the end of the year!
You can get a Javelin I think - or an org can. There will be a few Bengal carriers as controllable / catchable vessels for orgs to fight over etc.
Because the information that you gather will be helpful and valuable for you to use in SC if you decide to get the game.
the character was doing voice to text message... its simple as that...
They have two different composers: Pedro Camacho for Star Citizen and Geoff Zanelli for Sq42.
I have only heard a very small amount but for me it is the perfect mix of more realistic (not StarWars type lore) but also not too realistic so that we can have some fun with it (not Startrek or even Expanse)
The script of the game is already very old as they rebooted the game once in 2016 (because the tech had changed so much).
Release is rumored to shoot for late 25/early 26.
We answered the call and Now we hold the line
The Javelin is $4000 USD and only available to concierge players (anyone who has spent $1000 USD or above) it appears in-game as an NPC but it will not become available to players until sometime after SQ42 fully releases. Until then it is sold as a concept ship in limited numbers, it goes on sale again on May 21st for Invictus.
You actually can own the Javelin Destroyer in SC once it has is interior finished and is released
Very Good Reaction! :D
Gillian Anderson is also a great actress, she is best known for her role as Dana Scully in the 90's series The X-Files.
Vega is a Star System in both SQ42 and SC.
2:24 Yes you can have a Javelin Destroyer ingame.
The Javelin destroyer is the largest ship a player can get in game
Yeah, though you'll need a large crew of players to operate it fully and have it be useful.
Squadron 42 is the single player campaign of Star Citizen, Star Citizen itself is the MMO. They are being built, together, in the same engine, etc.
Actors you couldn't name are:
15:31: Jack Hudson
15:58: Ben Mendelsohn
16:09: Liam Cunningham
16:16: Rhona Mitra (Fun Fact: in the mid to late 90s she was the model that Core Design employed as Lara Croft for Game shows and events)
16:27: Sandi Roberts (Chris Roberts Wife)
16:30: This is the player character and thus can be edited to look how the player wants, voiced by Ian Duncan for male and Alix Wilton Regan for female.
Not show in this video:
Henry Cavill
Craig Fairbrass (He had a unique character rig in game due to his irl size)
Harry Treadaway
2:29 yes we can get that, unfortunatly for now it's the biggest ship player can get, but the biggest ship in the game is 10 time larger than this (not 10 times but almost, for reference Javelin is 480 meters, Retribution is 3300 meters ) In the futur players (but especially corpos, would fight for control of Bengals which is 1000 meters and carry a transit system in it
SQ42 is basically a The Last of Us in the space. Is super story driven and cinematic game
You create your own character and what they are showing early with the different people reading the letter, is showing a few examples of what your character could look like. Ala making your own.
It feels like mainlining the entire citizencon presentstion is in your future
And now watch "Star Citizen BOMBSHELL at Honest Conference" by Unscripted. 😁
10:35 Earth is still alive and well. Its one of the central hubs of the UEE, along with the Terra system. It will likely be a long while before it's actually in game, because it's one of the largest systems in the SC universe, as well as the only one that's actually real and thus will take a lot more work to make.
You can buy a Civilian version of those destroyers, which is slightly less powerful than the mil version.
LOL you missed the best part at the end where they show the new vanduul look.
The squadron 42 developers should stay on squadron 42
Given that Squadron 42 is supposed to be a trilogy of games, I'm sure that they'll migrate the required people back over when it's time to start working on part 2. Until then, they're going to be more useful getting Star Citizen to version 1.0 (official release).
Even then, Squadron 42 parts 2 and 3 are unlikely to require quite as much technological development resources as part 1 did; and, as much as Star Citizen will continue to need in the near future.
We haven't date yet, but it's in polish phase so we can estimate when it will be release,
IF you want to make things right you have 1 year minimum of polish
Especially for game like this personnally i would say 2 years so the release date in my opinion will be around December 2025
4:45 they show case their character creator, you can create what ever character you want
SQ42 will have Interactive cut-scenes. You can either watch it like normal, or walk around while it's happening. Star Citizen will also have these story driven cut scenes. Eventually. Like any MMO with Story Progression, same thing here.
It’s character creator in the beginning. Just showing off how the story starts.
I am saying this now this game when it will release will blow everything away
This game will redefine gaming for the good or the bad. Good will be every company steps up and innovates, and bad will be companies stay stagnant while CIG continues to innovate.
Vega 2 is the the universe but we can't go there yet, and yes you can own the Jav
At the beginning there it was just showing that you can customize your character. The F8s are there two ships shown at the very beginning.
No, those were F7A Mk 2 fighters doing the patrol. The F8 Lightnings actually flew past the window, prompting the captain to mention them.
@@randlebrowne2048 oh my bad
That was the diversity inclusion showing various character customizations
They will say the release date in the citizencon of this year in october, they already said so
Aremis Vega 2 is in the Vega system. Yes it is in the game. Well, will be in the game when they release the system that is.
That was an amazingly well written synopsis of the history of SC and SQ42, the project as a whole and a little sneak peek at the SQ42 story! Well done!!! 💯👍
"Imagine you can get that in game" you can
I'm sure this system works a lot better than the ptu. Single player should be without all the crazy bugs.
Weird scifi shinanigans like player characters.
You've got it backwards. Star Citizen is part of the Wing Commander universe. Star Citizen is based off the old Wing Commander games.
Welcome to SC lol. Also you should get a green screen 😂
Whaaaaaat, you mean you dont like the off center checkered backround?😝😝
I think Henry Cavill is in this as well.
yup. in fact he is one of the F7A pilots in the beginning.
Starfield...omg..Amateur.
Hahaha that bit was funny.
its a trailer but not really a cinematic trailer, thats how it you will see in game , thats the in game engine in real time
Its not yet, it will be (Vega2)
Why is he calling her “sir” in the beginning?
@@Jakub816 it's not bitter it's factual. Only bitterly toxic fanboys of mismanagement and neglect would diehard support.
Old trailer!
Your volume mix is way low. What you are viewing is barely audible when your speaking voice is at a comfortable level. Good reacts though! Welcome to the 'verse, citizen

This title is kept alive by UA-camrs looking to built a following and new backer churn...

Squadron 42 is the Prequel to Star Citizen.
Aliens are the Vanduul.
lol everyone thought the pan of earth was game play! lol
