    Have used this on and off for the past 2/3 years. Makes a huge difference to my day and is great for beginners. I'm unsteady on my feet and this is gentle and slow enough to accommodate it X

    I've probably done this video about a thousand times by now. I constantly come back to it, it's just such a wonderful morning routine when you only have a little time but need a little something to start your day. Defnitely my most watched yoga video! Thank you!!

    Brett, my wife Virginia and I have been doing this routine every morning since COVID began. We both feel so much better. She used to have shoulder pain all the time. Now it’s gone. Coincidence? I am thinking not. Thanks for the great video.

    I like this because it's straightforward and accessible, and doesn't have all that spiritual chatter that a lot of instructors engage in.

      Hello friend. I sense frustration in your words. I believe ultimately, everything is pointless. Making that comment did not make me feel better, I already felt great, thanks to this video. It is true what you say, that some folks merely practice yoga for the positive physiological and mental effects it produces. I was only pointing out that the spiritual component of yoga is a true pillar of yoga itself, at least historically... I do see how my wording may have conveyed a sense of superiority, that was not intended... God bless to you as well.

    UPDATE: Good afternoon, Brett. This is the "old inflexible yoga beginner" who wrote to you a few weeks ago. I'll try to make my story short. I have "pulmonary hypertension" and have a hard time with oxygenation and breathing, sometimes needing to be on oxygen. Being on meds have brought my pressures down some, BUT.....after a month of doing yoga I had an echocardiogram and my pressures have dropped! I am almost at a normal range! Thank you for what you do, I absolutely love watching your videos. As I've said before....you are my favorite! To anyone who isn't very healthy, please try yoga. Even if you can't do a position well, try it, it has changed my life. I think it can help you, too. Try it, you'll love it. And my doctor approved whole heartedly.

    Short enough to keep me yet still make a significant difference in my day. I've had a 90% decrease in hip pain by doing this 3-4x a week. I noticed improvement in a week and now it's been almost 2 months with no more limping. No more cortisone shots for me! Sent my friends this link. Thanks, Brett!

      She has so much non-instructive language. She really should just nos SAY anything at all! Why does she say, "good!" What is good? Her instructions are trite, not useful, and the way she has the annoying "yoga voice" that says D O W N ward facing dog in a sing songy way makes me cringe. Why is this type of teaching so popular??

      Hi Rebecca. I hope you've continued with your practice and your hips are still doing well! I suffer from one loose hip joint, soft tissue problem so I do relate. I've been rescued from the ongoing pain/discomfort/unease in that joint... which transfers to my spine, my shoulder, down to my knee, my ankle... through my daily yoga practice and this one session happens to work beautifully for me as well.     I decided to do a morning yoga every day, and this 15 minutes video is just perfect for the time I have. I feel so refreshing and energetic. This is a wonderful start for my year 2017.

    I suffer from debilitating depression and anxiety. There are many days I feel like I can't even leave my house. I'm trying to get some form of movement in and this seems like it could be really helpful! It sure makes me feel out of shape though haha.

      Have you continued this series? I bet if you have, you already feel its so much easier after a month! If not, try again and do it consistently for 2 weeks and you will stop feeling out of shape and in stead will feel empowered

      Keep going! Just love your body where it's at. That's what yoga is about. If you get tired or can't do the pose, just go to child's pose and rejon when you can.

    I wake up late and sit on my ass all day, yet today I tried yoga and this video has helped me, I am 21 and normally feel like I'm 80 but I feel amazing. Thank you!! I mean I can't stretch anywhere near as much as you but it still works

      You will stretch more readily over time as you allow your body to move in ways that counteract all that sitting. I promise!

    Thanks for putting together some very practical, real life yoga. (i.e.. Yoga for lower back pain). I've been trying to get my husband into yoga for years. He occasionally injures himself during vigorous exercise and wasn't willing to give yoga a chance. Pulling out the laptop and following along with you I have turned him into a yoga fan! Now it's him that will wake up and say "want to do a yoga this morning?"

    As an aspiring massage therapist, I do this every clinic shift I have for my school (where I usually give three back to back hour massages), along with as many mornings as I can during the week. I have seen huge improvement in my posture throughout the day and energy level. After the massages I feel amazing! My joints don't hurt, my body was already pre-warmed and prepared for the troubles of the day!

    For the last few years, I was using the DDP Yoga Wake Up video to start my day. But I found I wasn't getting that same rejuvenated feeling from it anymore.     I always wanted to start a morning yoga routine but could never find one that worked for me. I am a true beginner and most of the stuff out there that says it's beginner is definitely not, and way too long. I thank you for actually putting together a short routine that truly works for beginners. I do this first thing every morning and am loving it and feeling great.

    I was diagnose with cancer and beat it but then found out that i have Ankylosing Spondylitis. Doing this now for the first real time, doing Yoga under you, felt amazing. I haven't felt this good in a long time. It was very tough to deal with the pain but now its less then when i started. I am ready to watch everything you have to help me.

    I really enjoyed this video! Many other beginner yoga videos have too loud music so you can't really hear the intructions, therefore an unnecessary big amout of concentration goes to just trying to keep up with the intructor. I did not have the problem now, and I could fully concentrate on my body and breathing. Thank you so much!

      I have never understood the "need" for music with yoga. I like to hear my breath and the instructor's breathing and instructions. It's my time to be present with my body, and the music is distracting and puts me off my own rhythm.

    At last a great yoga video for beginners! So many videos claim to be for beginners but then start doing some crazy moves lol this didn't make me want to quit and was fast enough that my daughter left me alone to finish it lol

    I've been doing this video every morning for the past week as a new addition to my morning ritual Brett, and I love it. I'm going to keep my eyes out for other 15 minute segments you have I can do in the morning. I haven't done yoga regularly in years so this has been perfect for me to pay attention to my alignment & breathing and get back into the swing of it.
    [For those interested in getting a morning ritual going this is mine. Adding this to my life has helped me love waking up earlier to get to do this]
    The morning ritual goes like this:
    - Wake up & read non-fiction in bed for 10 mins
    - Glass of water w fresh lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, & pink himalayan salt
    - 15 Minutes of Yoga (currently with this video!)
    - 2 minute sprint run to get heart rate up
    - Cold Shower (as cold as it gets - at first this is not fun, but it becomes amazing in due time)
    - 20 Minute Meditation (sometimes guided, sometimes silent)
    - Make tea and get day going!

    Been doing this all week now and several people have said I look 20 years younger - no joke! It's really woken me up for the day and its the perfect length for me.

    oh man I needed that. woke up so stiff in my back and shoulders really helped work some of it out. 21 and I feel tight as wire sometimes. I'll for sure be subscribing thank you!

      +BrettLarkinYoga I have been doing this sequence for 5 days. Today my 2 (almost 3) year old got my Yoga mat out and told me she would fix it up for me and get my (your) video ready, I did the Yoga and after finishing found her at the table where I'd been doing craft 15 mins earlier lol

    For 2 yrs now I've been saying I want to get into a regular yoga practice. I've tried a few times at my gyms and could never fully get into it or relax or maintain the schedule. Last week at my running club we had a "stretching for runners" clinic with a certified Pilates/yoga instructor and she was awesome. She made us promise to get in 15 mins a day for 10 days to see a difference. I went searching for 15 minute yoga on UA-cam and this is the first video I came upon. I watched it yesterday and noticed just about every stretch (one missing) that we did in the clinic. I set my alarm for 6:10am this morning... I am finished. I feel refreshed and I believe this is truly the start of something great and I can do it at home on my own time. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I look forward to trying other videos once I get some consistency.

    6 weeks of physical therapy did not resolve the pain in my left hip but one day of this morning stretch left me feeling great all day, so i am back again for the forseable future. Thank you.

    I really look forward to this particular workout for my morning workout. Yesterday I started my boxing routine and in the morning, I fiended for this video. It really stretches the top half of my body along with the bottom half, but i needed that top half of the body stretch. After rope dips and punching combinations, this is a good and comfortable way to get some relief. The working of the core helps also.

    This video has helped me improve flexibility and reduced hip pain. I sit at a desk long days and commute. This is a short routine to start the day and focus on feeling healthy and prepared for whatever comes my way. Although I’ve practiced yoga for a long time, I still like the reminders on form and function which Brett does in a conversational way that isn’t preachy and doesn’t distract from the flow of the routine.

    I am so glad I found this video! I completely shut down emotionally, spiritually, and physically last week due to depression, anxiety, and stress I've accumulated over my first semester and a half of college. I got this idea to try yoga and meditation in the morning to start my day off in a balanced manner, your video popped up and i have now made it a part of my daily life, I've been doing this routine for 6 days and I have been so much happier! My roommate noticed the difference in my mood and decided to try it with me, she has been so much happier too!! Thank you so much!!

      Break a leg, Allison! Or if your production is finished, hope it went well! I've been a professional performer for 10 years, and full understand the stress of that "hell week." It's when many of us let our routines go, and as the days get very busy we rest too little, make poor eating choices, etc just to get by. When I committed to a regular routine of self-care (stretching/yoga, meditation, rest, good food/drink for fuel) and made sure to maintain that routine throughout a rehearsal process and through performance runs up to 10 weeks, it made all the difference. I felt better, performed better, and recovered faster to do it again the next day or week. Glad you're here in this community and glad you're sharing your talents with your own on stage!! : )

    I have had this saved on my yoga category since 2016. I’m an advanced yogi , this is the best way to start the day for any level.
