Tuning has some to do with the failures. More fuel directly equates to more heat. Facts. MOST of it has to do with idiots not knowing what they are doing, pulling heavy, with no egt gauge and no care. And now it's the engine's fault or the tune. Nope. 99% of the time its user error and abuse, plain and simple. I have hauled super heavy1(near 16k gooseneck) for almost 300k miles now on one of my trucks. Big tunes only, 114 degree weather, ac full tilt with 8 tons hanging off the back. The engine has zero blow by, no cracked pistons, never been apart. Tons of upgrades externally to make it much closer to modern power, but factory bone stock inside. User error right here buddy, facts. Pulling too hard for too long with no monitoring. That's was the cause of death was. Excessive extended heat over time was the failure mode. Not the tune.
Title was more for views, I said this on Instagram but I didn’t know what the guy did with this engine and how he maintained it… or lack thereof😂 but I would have to agree with temps and abuse. But I will say blaming it on tunes makes for a nice video title for the old clicks. I have seen bad tune files make temps rise and premature fails but way less common then the prior mentioned reasons
Bubba’s pissin hot tunes
And my buddy sold this to me 😂 I guess I bought it 😅
