Great troubleshooting video! I am interested in the Tech Pro app for my 1999 Ford F250 7.3 engine. I clicked on the OBD2 link but when I follow the link, it says "no longer available". Do you have another recommendation for an OBD connect and app for a 7.3 diesel engine?

How did you mount the ficm
The lighter one is from Richmond leather in Texas. They say they make exact matches but there’s are slightly lighter.
Nice, but not the shortcut implied. My "wait" light went on, and without this chart and just random UA-cam info, I went down the whole right side, even replacing the HPOP which is no minor task, just to find it was my injectors not firing, not due to HPO, but no IDM action. And this was due to the PCM not powering the IDM, while still lighting "wait to start". Bought a replacement PCM from RockAuto. They delivered one for earlier models than my '97 F-250 7.3, it didn't work, and they won't refund me for it. Now searching for the best resource to fix my PCM and possibly my IDM if it needs something. The local Ford dealer won't answer my calls. This has been an 11 month effort to my crank-won't-start story. This is anything but a simple problem!

@@JUNIORMICH leaks are fun lol. So many seals and yet even big parts can be issues like j tubes and injectors and pumps themselves. Internally when they fail they can cause leaks as well.
I just bought an 04 it runs sweet 211k when i got home there is oil leaking on top of engine and its on the top front engine cover

I got a 97 7.3 auto I’ve checked everything that you showed and my truck still isn’t cranking. All lights on dash work. The ‘s’ line going into the fender solenoid isn’t getting power when key is cranking. When I jump the fender solenoid the starter is stuck turning and once truck fires up it still spins so I have to pull battery terminals. Only engine cuts off with the key. I have no blown fuses and the red/blue wire for the “s” line on solenoid looks good.

Depends on budget. You can clean it and keep it plugged in or get rid of it.

@@scamchan after a delete it will stay nice and clean in the intake. If you aren’t deleted I would look into it because you can’t keep up with it because the whole intake looks like that egr valve. Gets crazy nasty
@@scamchan I cleaned the egr with brass brush and picks. Then just wipe it with rags. If you want you could do a degreaser cleaner as well. New orings and base washer gasket and she will be good.

A fuse should never allow itself to get that hot, it should’ve blew, especially only being a five amp. On top of that why would you keep it in? If you think it’s getting that hot, if the fuse is glowing red there is obviously an excessive draw somewhere, and if it’s a short ground, you could easily smoke the wires and catch the car on fire
As with any engine, the combination of parts has to be matched, as they all must work in harmony. I'm not surprised by the results at all, but if growing was the goal, they'll work for now, and serve you well down the line. Lotta kids have purchased camshafts for their hotrod over the years by looking at the biggest ones in the catalog first, instead of deferring smaller than they thought they needed, and ended up unhappy with a poor running dog of an engine because they overlooked the combination they actually had. The costs snowball quickly don't they? You have to seriously be diligent on a build and stick to the goal, because it's far too easy to just upgrade one thing here, and then another there, which means this thing has to go too... It'll get outta hand and snowball fast.

I told this customer I wouldn’t be getting to it right away and he was fine with it, but I have it ready to pluck, just haven’t done it yet, was going to drain oil when it’s out and check bottom of pan to see how bad it was.
Nice walk through, looks tedious, but I guess when you get the hang of it, should be an easy fix!

thank you so much this Graf worked great I was about replace apr,icp,and cps just because I didn't know what it could be and I just replaced the fuel pump and it turned out the battery voltage was below 10.5 v just gave it a quick charged and it started right up . thanks again
