@@ChristopherMaybe I understand they were both trying to lawyer their way around the issue in order to both control the narrative of their conversation. However, after he asked her “is discrimination against Asian Americans wrong?”, a very clear-cut question, she should’ve been able to answer with a simple “yes”. And another part of this that should be remembered, is that college acceptance quotas under affirmative action policies do, in fact, 100% discriminate directly and blatantly against Asian Americans, and so his specific criticisms of that were completely justified in that context. In that regard, his question of “is discrimination of Asian Americans” is even more justified to ask, and it’s even more damning that she refused to say that it’s wrong.
She's against the question on grounds of quaintness. Treating people the same is reigh cyst and so fifteen years ago. With that being said, we are okay. It only makes us stronger. We want to be judged not by the color of our skin but by our character and skills.
Only one race matters when discussing racism. Let's be honest here. It's about pandering, and nothing more. Asians don't make up enough of a potential voting demographic to matter. That's why they are excluded. Also, they generally tend to be more educated and rely less on government hand-outs, so it's a waste of time to target or include them in the discussions.
I am from Asian country, Black people appear to be claiming 'don't discriminate us', but the more you listen to them closely and respectfully, the more we find out that they're just demanding to be given privileges and power for no reasons. Instead of taking the idea that they've been discriminated against, historically, so they won't do it to others, the idea of discriminating against those who looked down on them "in history", so they can become dominant than every other race is really sickening and childish. That is not making the world peaceful place, but only making it worse. It's clear that they have learned nothing from history but to gain power over everyone. I have felt like I am discriminated by some people in the US including Black people, and I just thought that they were reacting like that because they are not familiar enough to see us as a same human because of their past living environments and that's alright, it is just not respectful person. However, I will never want to become the one who discriminate others. It's surprising that she is not even ashamed to show her own racism. Well, if she is ashamed, then she wouldn't be responding like this... You don't bully because you were bullied when you were child. Where is the education? Teaching only history and not how to respect or learn how to develop personal growth? Sad world.
Yep. It's similar to justifying systematic discrimination against Jewish people in Europe during its long history. Jews were often stereotyped as 'intelligent', 'wealthy', with certain stereotypical features (big nose, short, etc), and it was mainstream to mock them (eg. Sheakspeare portrayal of Jew). They were also target of political persecution, what I feel is akin to affirmative action (Exile of Jews from Early England, Removal of Jews from academic institutes in Nazi Germany, creation of anti-Jewish laws in many European states historically, limiting their roles in society). Only when the Jews stood up for themselves, both No.1 Superpowers (USA & USSR) post-WW2 denounced antisemitism, and when perpretators were put to justice, did everyone start to think twice. Difference is, Asians haven't been written to experience something like 'the Holocaust', an event so horrifying and sensationalised in western media & society that it becomes easy for normal people like her to denounce anti-Asian hate speech. Will she still have the guts to say the same thing for affirmative action against Jews in today's society? Truly a failure in policy making

Many of my friends in the prime of their youth dedicated everything to achieving their dream school, and to be denied because of their race, I think was one of the most damaging psychological things that happened to them.
My fellow Asians need to know that liberals are hypocrites. Just go to a decent school and build your own company. Asians are great at making businesses. Find other Asians and network. Heck, Asians need to make a school like Howard University.
My friend's niece graduated top of her class in a private school and was denied admission to UC and CalState universities because she is Asian. It worked out for her in the end as she got a full ride to a prestigious engineering university in New York (RPI). Best comment. I saw a S. Korean frustrated with news of black on Asian violence remark as you did.

Then why is Hawley not being held accountable for his?
@@kristianaaberg7882 calling her out?
Yes she is being exposed here but the Democrats will still be able to confirm her to a LIFETIME appointment where she can do lots of damage, on a party line vote thanks to Kamala's tie-breaking vote.
Kenny doesn't like black people or hispanics. Majority of people get in are legacy getting in. He knows why he's afraid of white people. Asian students have cultural advantages & and financial they hire tutors to pass their grades. He playing the line like lowered without contexts. When he knows it's easier for asian students to get in based on what he knows asians will have an advantage. And legacy students are white 33 percent the highest and they pay to get test scores. Let's talk about the FACTS.
Crazy how these black democrats thinks it's okay to discriminate against others. Sad this country has come to a point racism is once again cool thing thanks to democrats. They just can't let go of their racist history.
Who discriminated Asian Americans Republicans like you and thetrumplicans. And Josh the road runner Hawley is irelevant human being.
@@javierrolon9972 and I'm Southeast Asian. My skin color is brown.
@@javierrolon9972 how did republicans discriminate against Asians? You made a false claim with nothing to back it up.
I’ll never forget joy and excitement I felt when when I got accepted in my dream law school years ago. I was so proud, I had worked so hard all these night staying up late studying had finally paid off. Yeah well not really… 1 year after graduating law school I found out I was accepted over 16 Asian American students each one of them with an average of +3 points higher on the LSAT, +1 overall ACT score and a +0.125 accumulative GPA. I was crushed, I didn’t deserve to be in the position I was in, I made it because of my race. Maybe it’s just me but that hurt me so badly. It is so wrong to me I was held to a lower standard because of my race
If more people were like you we would barely have any racists at all… let the best win as long as its fair. Im a white men i couldnt care less if all Harvard was asians as long as they deserve it. Wokeness is a cancer that make USA weaker year after year
Haha just enjoy your black life matters dividends
You Better quit the school or tell the truth, and sorry for all the 16 marginalized Asians out there, bro. Because you didn't deserve it.
Definitely a contender for the best “Non answer” to a question.
She is worse than most politicians. She said more than sixty words with less than zero meaning.
Thank you for the questions senator, I can’t discriminate against Asian-Americans because I’m black.
Who are the REAL racists?
Her answers are literally a circle. She’s found a way to say the same thing diffently, over and over and over.
Asian here. Can’t believe Republicans raised this talking point, this never gets talked about because Asian discrimination isn’t cool, just like me in high school.
Just like democrat, republican covers a wide range of views. Keep in mind, one thematic concept is that all lives matter, but in the sense that everyone is treated equally. That statement itself could be perceived as racist. That is a major problem in miscommunication with today's understanding.
Bruh it's cuz its convenient to use us to criticize dems rn, and the reverse is gonna happen when its convenient for dems. They aint any better
@@thfkmnIII I don’t vote, but at least republicans are consistent. They’ve always been against affirmative action
@@ps2pieman i can argue both parties are consistent on at least a couple of policies. So what?
Making a decision based on just one of them (albeit one that makes only a minor difference since asians are drilled to be on the grindset while black folks grow up in dogshit environments) is kinda dumb
@@thfkmnIII Well if one party is actively discriminating to keep your race out of higher education to make reparations for their decades of terrible policies that discriminated against another race, then you’re picking favorites. I realize we do not live in a meritocracy and that life isn’t fair, but active discrimination is antithetical to the supposed social values of the democratic part
“Thank you for the question. I’m not going to answer it because the obvious answer would make me look stupid. Instead, I’m going say a bunch of words.”
Lol... It's hilarious how she can't directly answer because she has no answer.
Haven't heard of a Biden nominee who was any different
The answer is: She's a racist. Bigot, if you are trying to be somewhat diplomatic.
Oh, she had an answer, she just dared not speak it.
She is clearly racist she believes in the pecking order we waz ere before yaw you in at da botom.
She has an answer, she is just not allowed to say it.
Thank you so much for clearly exposing her opinions on this matter.
the fact she won't answer is laughable, because she knows who is spreading more anti asian hate than anyone else, here's a clue: They share the same skin color as her
as soon as race discrimination against asians come up these people suddenly are not familiar with those issues but if the race was black OMG they are absolute experts
The sad fact is that many voters won't see this kind of incompetence before choosing who to vote for.
Exactly
As long as politicians have an IQ marginally higher than their electorate, they win, and rule. Because smart voters will always be a minority in any democracy.
We have to share these clips to get it out to them. Quickly.
Or just her voters are simply agree to positive discriminate only blacks, but no asian-americans.
They vote based on skin color alone and tell themselves they're against racism
She just will not say the word "Asian"
She seems like someone who would start a fight in Mcdonalds and then turn around and release an accused murder on home detention.
Again it looks like discrimination against Asians isn't frowned upon. The hypocrisy of this diversity movement is sickening
Sounds like diversity is more important than fairness, intelligence and competence.
To them, yes.
Pretty obvious if you look at the nominees coming through these hearings. In totally over their heads and lying through their teeth.
I'm Korean and I am beyond thankful and my utmost respect to Mr. Hawley for addressing this. Seems like no one cares about Asian these days.. Thank you, senator.
Asians need to stop voting Democrat. I'm Asian and I'm done with that racist party forever.
@@catherinelw9365 I wish I could vote.
@@catherinelw9365 What? this dude voted against protecting Asians when people started attacking our elderly FOR NO DAMN REASON. Blaming us for starting the pandemic. Trump started it all. So sorry you feel Dems are racist when in fact it's the Party of Trump.

"I'm not familiar with the case" 😅
I'm old enough to remember when "affirmative action" was called "positive discrimination." I wonder why they changed the name?
Because it was wrong?

She's a racist
She never said that
For once, an actual quantifiable/provable example of systemic discrimination.
So evasive and deceptive - you have to laugh at her discomfort. Why cant she be honest?
"Senator thank you for the question" if I had to hear that one more time I would have puked. Thank goodness for the stop button.
