Great video! I love the vertical golf swing; been doing it for years with great success. I'm 74 years old and I find it humorous when my golfing partners complain that the can't master all of the intricate requirements of the rotational swing that they see in magazines and videos. Would love to see more videos on swinging vertically. I'm going to try closing my stance slightly - I have always set up square.
Really gathered some great info, especially in regards to balance. Due to a motorcycle wreck in '16, I have no toes on my left foot. I have limited lateral stability in that foot and as such I have a tendency to hit flat footed. This video on how to get better balance in with limited foot action is what I needed to see. These tips will be part of my backyard practice.
Willie Tyndall thanks for posting. Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are getting to play some golf and these ideas help your game! Appreciate you watching 👊
@@USGOLFTVshow I do get to play about twice a month. The loss of the toes ended the motorcycle game and took me to golf as a good outlet. I love the game and your ideas are spot on.
Great recommendations. The balance recommendation is key. I notice that when I don't pay attention to balance and try to swing hard, then I end up with miss-hit. When I slow down and stay in balance, my shots are spot on. Thanks!
@@USGOLFTVshow Booming, Todd ironically COVID has increased membership nos. Genuinely, your lessons are some of the best around. I'm playing decent but struggling with a shank particularly around the greens. Any help appreciated. I'm actually having a knee replacement done nxt Wed 3rd Nov but will be bk playing in da spring. Warm regards Tom
@@tomsharkey251 you are correct, the game is growing like crazy...nice to see! Here is a good video to help with your chipping concerns ua-cam.com/video/GcOUunxpz-g/v-deo.html
@@USGOLFTVshow Take another bow Todd. Took your recent chipping tip to the course today & while not all chips were perfect, first time this year no s----s.. Also tried to play the vertical plane swing for the 1st time & noticeable improvement in ball striking. I play tmoro but then knee replacement op on Wed, tee time 😁 8.45 in hospital. Again many thanks Todd & will have to try & get u over next spring from a golf clinic in Dublin. Can't keep u to myself..👏👏
What can you do if you have nerve and scar tissue in the chest . I had open heart have a lot problems didn’t heal back right. Do you have any suggestions.
We certainly are not providing medical advice. What we can say is the Vertical Line Swing has helped thousands of “experienced” golfers around the globe. Have you read our book www.badliegolfbook.com/
My dad is 75, do you think he can hit some ladies flex shafts? Would this help? He’s lost quite a bit of distance and flexibility and everything that comes with age.
I totally agree. I've been swinging vertically for years and I love it. I works great for golfers with less flexibility and its much simpler and easier to perform than rotational swings. It is very clear from your video above that you are clearing your hips while also using a vertical swing. The transition to the downswing starts immediately after beginning to clear the hips.

Todd, u are a class teacher..keep up the great work. Tom in Dublin, 🇮🇪
Tom, appreciate those kind words. Would like to do a golf school in your neck of the woods one day...hows the golf scene there?

Great video so true get the right equipment, thanks for the advice
You got it!! Yes, dialing in your equipment is often overlooked for older golfers...appreciate you taking time to comment
@UsGolfTV....Todd, when you bump your hip on the driver, do you leave the weight on the front side throughout the swing ? Thanks
Peter Fowler won the Australian Open by hitting balls with his feet to-gether for two weeks (months?) prior to the event.

I’m 66 yo at 11 handicap. My drivers yardage is at 220 to 230. But I’m using 10.5* and ball is too high. Thinking of 9.5*. What you guys think?
I would also check the shaft flexibility as it can play a major role in the overall distance.

Yes, it would certainly be worth a "test run". The key is to find the right flex so the club "kicks'" at the correct time...let us know how it goes
👏👏👏👍
Swing with your arms is probably the worst advice I have ever heard. You have to clear your hips!
We like clearing the hips and swinging the arms....it is a combination of both that is key....thanks for taking time to comment.

Easy for you to say if you're not 100 yrs old and don't have hip problems lol
