  • This time around, we pull the dates back and forth (chronologically speaking) to set the band's opening set for Ratt before the premiere of their Fahrenheit headliner show which will come tomorrow ;)
This came from a set of shows that were filmed from the mixing desk as the band was opening for Ratt on their tour. Rumours had it the band was making such an impact as the tour went on that their opening time slot was cut shorter by the headliner though that's never been verified.
It's classic 80's footage especially with regards to the quality, but I restored as much as possible in VirtualDub and remastered the audio for a better sound balance.
    Setlist:
    01. Tokyo Road [0:00]
    02. Breakout [6:33]
    03. Jon greeting audience [12:39]
    04. Only Lonely [13:22]
    05. Guitar Solo [19:51]
    06. Drum Solo [22:41]
    07. In And Out Of Love [23:22]
    08. Runaway [32:40]
    Encore:
    09. I Don't Wanna Go Home [39:13]
    10. Get Ready [41:45]
This channel is now also on Instagram!

Feel free to follow for updates and discussions :)
Also make sure to check out the new website dedicated to Bon Jovi Tours that a friend and I are working on:
    bjtours.jimdo....
It's steadily growing and includes a lot of background info and trivia on the albums as well as a lot of setlists (older tours are still under construction, but constantly added).

I never saw them in the 80's unfortunately, but I can see why RATT (and other acts) hated them and would cut their monitors, or give them less and less stage space, they were such a great live band, even for being so green, they would blow everyone away!! And who's still around now?? Huh?? Yeah!!

Saw them in Rochester NY on this tour. I was a Ratt fan and my girlfriend loved Bon Jovi. They had a longer set that included "She dont know me" and "Silent Night". A great night for 2 16 yr olds. She had the "cool" parents that let me sleep over. Fond memories of that night.

Totally remember this. I was 17 years old and saw them in Madison, Wisconsin on this tour. My friends that went with said Bon Jovi blew Ratt off the stage. We saw greatness that night. Richie was tearing it up on guitar and his harmonies with Jon running all over and bringing so much energy. It was the beginning of greatness.

Saw the same tour, and yes Bon Jovi blew them away. I went to see DiMartini, because he was the new hotshot guitarist at the time, but he was nothing to write home about. However Sambora was very impressive, I was blown away by his playing. I knew about Bon Jovi, but didn't go to see them, but I went away VERY impressed with them.

Saw same tour, Dayton, OH, Hara Arena. Bon Jovi put on a hell of a show. Ratt were flat and Pearcy was off key and unintelligible. I remember Bon Jovi the most. They were hungry and it showed.

This is why their opening acts always hated them lol, They always blew away the main act!! Bon Jovi has always been a great live band.

haha I saw this tour when I was 18. I remember being front row. Thinking who are these guys in pink and purple. I also remember, they are pretty cool, and the chicks are loving this. I really remember Richie Sambora doing the harmonics section in his guitar solo and thinking WOW, that sounds cool.
All I can remember from the Ratt set was the played alot of lame songs, sounded just OK and I walked out kind of disappointed in them. Bon Jovi is sound much tighter and better.

why on earth would a support act put a drum and guitar solo in their 7 song set - shouldve played Hardest Part of the Night instead.

I think that has to do to take care of Jon voice one less song to sing and keep on going the next night with another show.

I did hear that on this tour that Ratt stood out in the seats during rehersals and smirked and laughed at Bon Jovi. I liked Ratt back in the day early but Bon Jovi blew them away. Wonder who is laughing now. Great video btw.

Long live the Austin Drum! I saw them at NOLA Jazzfest @ 2015 and they still had it! Long live, church camp friends, Austin, and NOLA Jazzfest! - LEG

AFter the next two records was when Bon Jovi became flamboyantly gay. Seen this in San Diego on New Years Eve and Ratt destroyed Bon Jovi. Richie cant hold a note compared to Warren DeMartini.
