This is amazing!!!! I never thought i would ever see live footage of The Invasion Tour!! My second concert ever at the tender age of 12. December 1985 El Paso County Coliseum. Best time of my life!!!!! 🤘🏽
I'll never understand why Ratt doesn't have any bootleg footage of this period. Here we finally get a glimpse after years of searching. But then all we get is one song, and to add insult to injury. The video is a camera filming of a tv screen....

I got to see this Tour in Houston just a few weeks later close to Christmas . Bon Jovi came out to sing Santa Claus is coming to Town as the 21,000 strong crowd Booed them Off Stage chanting RATT , RATT , RATT its was a great show by Ratt !! I was 18 yrs old we had floor seats about row 16 so great view . Ratt & Roll has never died for me ...
DeadShred999 Didn’t RATT eventually bring out a Santa Claus because in the tour program for the Invasion Tour in Japan had a picture of Stephen standing next to a Santa Claus on stage.
I was 18 so I dont remb. anything like that its possible . Others who caught the tour have never mentioned it and my buddy who was with me said he didnt remb. that happening either so I would guess no . Such a long time ago I'm about to turn 55 in June so those times are reall fuzzy plus I liked to drink and smoke weed back then so ya know lol
DeadShred999 I definitely understand lol it must have happened a lot later I believed it could have happened on December 31st as I believe they were play at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on December 31st and they were more than likely to do something like the Santa Claus thing just not when you saw them
Wow, floor seats? When I attended my first couple of concerts in the early 80's, they had floor seats. That didn't last long. People were stacking chairs to get a better view of the stage while others were getting hurt with the chairs when the crowd would rush to the front of the stage area. Floor chairs became a thing of the past there after. The 80's Metal era was the best time in my life.
I saw them in Amarillo just before Christmas too. I remember JBJ singing Santa Clause Is Coming To Town as well. Invasion of Your Privacy had to be their best tour!
Saw this tour in Great Falls MT 1985 while in the Air Force sweet!!! Accidentally got hammered before the show and never even saw Bon Jovi saying even though my buddy is held me up by the stage LOL
This is gold! I remember in Dallas at Reunion Arena, refusing to go in until Bon Jovi was off stage because they were not heavy metal, LOL! Good time and one of my all time favorite tours by Ratt.
Ratt is my fave band of the 80's but dude they also were not heavy metal, back in that day the Heavy Metal bands were Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Accept, Anthrax just to name a few. It always cracks me up when people said these bands like Ratt, Motley, Poison were heavy Metal.
Steve Kirby that’s speed metal mega death and Saxon Ect , Ratt was glam metal which was taken too far later by poison. The first 2 Crue records metal , 1st one speed metal 2 one part glam metal but real metal , 3rd was kinda gay pop metal
Kirby Little No kidding you have no idea what you’re talking about you don’t even know the differences in the metal genre.?So stop posting about things you know nothing of. How do you not know the term speed metal? You’re an idiot
I rode 2 hours in the back of a truck to see this show, guzzling beers the whole way. This was when the tour landed in Little Rock. Barton Colosseum was open admission then so if you wanted upfront, it was yours but you had to work for it! Great show though.
My first Rock concert! Wichita, Ks at the coliseum. I was hooked to live music after that show. Barricade busted during Bon Jovi. Seen them again a few years later with Poison and Joan Jett opening.
In one of his last interviews, Robbin said he was hanging out with the guys from Bon Jovi backstage because they had more enthusiasm and got along better while Stephen and the other guys just laid around not wanting to practice or do anything.
Invasion of Your Privacy tour. Which is funny because a couple of years prior Rattle opened for Bon Jovi. But on this tour Bon Jovi were supporting their 7800° Fahrenheit album
Ratt was bigger than Bon Jovi until 1986 when they did "living on a prayer" which just rocketed BJ over Ratt. Ratt continued to be successful but outside of "round and round" they weren't able to write another hit single.
Robbin said in his last interview that he hung out with Bon Jovi's band backstage because they were happier and more acted more like a band. Also the other guys didn't want to practice etc, they just wanted to laze around.
@@markrosenquist8259 Mark, that was actually about Poison. They were replaced by a band (which I can't remember) and then poison was put back on with Ratt because sales were killer with those two bands..... Hence the Ratt Poison tour
Robbin got along well with the Bon Jovi guys, and would often ride on their bus. But Stephen was jealous of Jon because he was better looking and had a better voice. At least that’s how Robbin told the story in an interview with Mitch Lafon.

RATT has always been one of my favorites and still today. Funny how these comments dissing Bon Jovi as they still sell out arenas and in the hall of fame. Ratt sadly is left to play smaller venues like house of blues. Wow how things change.
It's because a lot of people prefer the darker/sleazier pop metal style of Ratt over Bon Jovi's bubblegum pop. Ratt is looked as being more genuine, and not really trying to sell out through the use of anthems and power ballads. Which are the type of songs that make up most of Bon Jovi's hit catalog. Sure, Bon Jovi had a lot of mega hits, and they certainly deserve their success. But it's just something that eats away at Ratt fans, knowing that they didn't reach the same level of success. Nowadays, Bon Jovi does play bigger venues, but Ratt still packs their venues even if smaller. The fanbase is still there and supportive. At the end of the day, certain fanbases will hate on others just because they can. The thrash metal scene hates of the glam scene all the time, for childish reasons. Just the way things are.
