Street Speed 717 smart move getting the older version with the v8 saves you 2 grand in front timing chain repairs every year after warranty cough cough turner and for your diesel truck get a electric battery blanket from a auto parts store cause cold batteries are not good at -30F and keep you from replacing batteries yearly or every 2 years

With everyone doing a build of the current gen raptor(it's becoming the R35 of trucks in that regard), i'm actually super stoked about the fact that you got a previous gen raptor! Don't get me wrong, absolutely love the new one too, but it's good to see the previous one still get love.

The ONLY exception is a Cummins
the Ecoboost tho if you owned one compared to a V8 you would understand they just perform amazing not to mention the pulling power we have a f150 yes we had to install air bags or rear but we pull a over 12,000 pound 5th wheel all the time with no problem and pull bobcats and such on regular basis and pulls better than 6.0 250 we had it's crazy.

The 6.2 was just outdated. A 5.0 is quicker than the 6.2, and the high output eco blows both of them away when it comes to performance. I would have loved to see the 6.2 with a 10 speed, I also think they should still have a v8 as an option for the raptor
The Gen 2 raptor is significantly faster than the original one, but the original one holds its own especially with that 6.2!
@Rekkless Wun V8 is always the best, that 6.2 is a pretty strong engine. I see f250 work trucks towing a hell of a load with that engine.

@@aaronraymond5121 I remember when the Raptor came out with these wheels, we all thought they were real beadlocks in the shop. Nope, all fake for looks plastic. Beads break off the wheel normally, no unbolting required.
Kenneth James Incorrect. No plastic on them. I just had my rings off a week and a half ago to paint them. Although they aren’t true beadlocks until you buy the conversion rings and hardware from ford.

I think that a lot of us agree with you the old raptors are so much better like I get why they want a v6 in it but the v8 is just so much better all around like you can do so much more with the v8
Reynolds Wilson let,s see in a few years how the new raptors hold up in value. where i live the "old"raptors are selling for almost what they were selling for brand new. and with the v-6 exhaust sound is just wrong. imo.
The new raptors look way better, but not having a v8 option is outrageous.

I have a 2018 raptor and it’s nice I love it
I pavement pound 120 miles round trip and average 13.5 doing 75mph in my 2011 6.2. You really have to beat on them to get below 12 mixed driving. I’m probably the only guy around in a truck that doesn’t drive like pussy. A wide body truck looks cool going sideways around town.

Had the 6.2, currently own the 2018... The v6 is faster and the gen 2 is also a stronger more well built truck but that v8 with the exhaust note it puts out on the gen 1 is unbeatable.

Do what makes your happy. Like me I have a 1983 Amc spirit with a build 401. Very rare to find Amcs and no one seems to care for them but they are a rare gem that I grew up with have respect for. RST stands for "Rally Sport Truck." It is an appearance package just like RS on the Camaro. You cannot option the 6.2L engine into the RST trim, that is reserved for LTZ and High Country trims only.
