I personally wash my locs about every 7 days, this is what works for me. That's when I'm not planning on retwisting. When I get my hair retwisted I usually wash it when i'm ready for the next retwist. I don't really like washing my hair once a month but it's like i don't want to mess up my retwist either 😅. Lately I haven't been retwisting often, It's been 2 months and honestly I might wait 2 more weeks.
I was looking for this comment because my hair holds products and it looks very dirty and I DONT LIKE THAT lol😂

@@Chynax_M you’re welcome and I don’t retwist all the time . I retwist every now and then when it’s a special holiday or special occasion other than that I leave my hair alone . I just wash it oil and separate it .

@@Chynax_M I try to just leave them alone and I’ve been growing my locs for 6 and 1/2 years almost 7 years .

Thanks for all the tips!! I wash mine about every 2 weeks and when I do I make sure to also implement products that detox my hair and cleanse it rlly well such as ACV.
Ohh you do an ACV rinse every time you wash your hair ? Which is every 2 weeks ?
After a fresh retwist I'll wait two weeks. After that. Once a week. But I alternate with just an essential oil rinse. Then the next week a real wash. No way on earth could I wait a month. A clean healthy scalp promotes growth. Not letting dirty build up.

That's what I've been saying. My hair has been flourishing more now that I wash once or twice a week. I sweat a lot especially because I go on power walks with my dog lol!
It’s different with braidlocs I washed mines after 2 weeks in the beginning the only unravel at the ends especially that my hair is 4c now that I am fully loc’d I wash once a week in the summer & every 2 weeks in the winter

For Itching nothing beats a good hair butter with tea tree and Mint oil.

What do you use for hair butter?
@@hrtsconfsson mostly coconut oil, coco butter and shea. I tend to toss some grape seed oil or black castor oil in it too
Basically when your scalp is starting to itch it's tine to wash your hairand if you washed yourbhair recently and it still itches you either need to change shampoos, your diet/drink more water and use an oil because scalp is probably just dry. Type 4 hair doesn't gets as oily asbthise with looser curls or straight hairbso we don't need to wash it often but at least once every two weeks works for me. Once a month ifbyou just got a retwist

So i'm new to the channel, and I love the stutter, and I love how u say "dandrums" when talking about "dandruff"... It's so cute.... I'm a gay guy - I'm not hitting on u or anything... Just saying, I think it's so cute. I also love how u own ur stutter, and are so calm, worry-free and "proud" of it. (I use the word proud for lack of a better term - I've been thinking the entire video of the word I was trying to use, but I can't think of it... hopefully someone can comment what I was thinking xD)

I wash my locs once a month or every 2 months
They grow faster that way

Does perspiration break the hair
Why do some stylists use gel on starter locs? And do you know good items for itchy & dandruff?
I’m guessing so that the hair don’t unravel but depending on how you start it , like the twist, you don’t really need any products . And there’s shampoos that are good for itching. There’s a Shea moisture one you can look it up on Amazon . And tea tree oil is good for itchiness.

Of course you can… just know a few of them might unravel . Just twist them back again lol…. Washing your locs is part of the locking process too.
