They don't hold on to their value. I had an R-Line 190 DSG with a load of extras. Car was £41k new. I did 28k miles in 18 months and the best offer on trade-in was £22k. My advice is don't buy a new one. There are loads of ex-demonstrators about with 3k miles and 4 to 6 months old. Easily save yourself £10k on new price. As far as reliability is concerned, it was completely faultless. Absolutely brilliant car.

Great video - but I have an allspice and the review of the third row doesn't reflect my experience. You can easily move the 2nd row forward (and nudge the front seats forward a little too) to find a balance of legroom. Often an adult in the third row would be behind a kid or vice versa. So it works well as a 5 plus 2. It's a stretch to call the Kodiaq a "proper" 7 seater by comparison.

It do believe that it is not a cool video to place a Tiguan R-Line besides a Tiguan Allspace (Trendline)...
The Allspace would look the same in front of it would have R-Line too, except some very hard to see little differences...
And that little difference in length produces a huge difference in the inside of you order it as 5 seater. I do have the AS as 5 seater and the Tiguan boot is way smaller than the one from the AS then. THAT is when it comes to the AS 👍
It is not true that the Kodiak is way cheaper. Configure both with the same engine, gearbox and 2/4wd level and nearly same trim/extras level, then the difference is not really big.
For the next it is nonsense to compare it with the X1 in the inside because the BMW is way more expensive then the VW. You can compare the Q3 with the X1 because they are in the same premium segment but not the Tiguan!
PS: sorry that "key hide thing" is ridiculous and I hope that should have been a joke 😉

Got the same as tested here, the R-Line Tech 230 PS. Absolutely love it, bit of power with plenty of toys thrown in. MPG is a bit crap but then I had an S4 Avant before that average 16.4MPG over 2 years so it's much better than that! No mention in the video of the looks of the car which to me is important, I think the R-Line spec with the 20" wheels looks fantastic, even more improved by adding running boards. Space wise for 2 adults, 2 growing children and 2 German Shepherds there's plenty of room, no where near as cramped as my old car.

Oh man! That R-Line is sweet! Here in the US we cannot get the smaller Tiguan nor can we get the diesel. Dual clutch transmissions aren’t on the Tiguans here. I like the steering wheel as well. It looks like it’s from the GTI and GLI over here. Shift paddles for the DSG is nice. Americans seem to hate diesels, dual clutch transmissions, and sporty suspensions. Not me though. I see a difference between the rear seats of these two cars.
Tiguan has a very small storage tray which you showed us at 06:47 near both edges of the seats to put some keys or similar small things. But tiguan allspace doesn’t, am i right ?
If i’m right it means total width of the rear seats of tiguan allspace is more than normal tiguan. It means families can put 2 child seats on rear seats and their mother or a nanny can have a space to sit between two child seats. In normal tiguan it’s impossible because there is just 20-25 cms of space between two child seats.
    Can you correct me ?

There is no such thing as a badly specced Tiguan and even the Match (second trim level up) comes with things like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Reversing Camera and self parking as standard. I have a Tiguan too. You have to have that feature included in your trim or to select it as an option, of course before buying the.car. For instance, I have the first trim but I paid 900euros for comfort seats. Therefore the textile is better than the one for the first trim, both driver and passanger seats have back support, the kids have that table they can use. Be aware only the passanger seat can be closed down and seats adjustments need to be manual but not electrical. But it worths every penny.

Seat Ateca especially the facelift looks very well, it drives excellent and let's not forget that the quality is similar as you have the same engines and even a lot of buttons are identical (cousins in VAG familly), but Tiguan is more practical and the boot is bigger. Of course, there is about 14 cm between them. Tiguan is 4,48m and Ateca 4.34m. Therefore it's easier to park an Ateca in not so big parking lots. I did a drive test with an Ateca when it was released 2017 and I was pleased. However, I've chosen in 2019 the fat German lady as I call my Tiguan sometimes and I have no regret. If you choose Ateca, be aware that FR version has a harder suspension which is good for a sporty driving, but not for comfort.

Before they are even adults they will be driving around in their own cars. What we need is for them to seat a child in the back so we can see the proper use of the car. I have the regular tiguan but will replace it with the allspace once my lease-period is over. And thats for the reason of having 4 kids. But when it comes to all review videos, i found it strange that grown ups arent meant to be in the third row. I mean, its like the Iso fix, a solution made especially for the kids seats, so when thinking of the third row, i mean its made for families with more than 3 kids. And yet we have always grown ups reviewing the third row as semi bad for its small space. Try make a new video having a 12 eyar old sits there and from that point of view judge the situation.

I have a regular Tiguan too. I would compare with a 7 seater Tarraco or Kodiaq as they are cousins and it seems Kodiaq has better space. Others say that Kia Sorento has better space, it is very reliable but I'm not a fan of, even if the new Sorento has a nice design. By the way, Skoda has a tone of accesories simply clever, compatible with VW such as door bin support, removable holders ...and they are cheaper than VW accesories. I had a Skoda and I bought all possible accesories or life style items so I know what they do. By the way, Skoda has rubber covers for the central tunel which are perfect to keep the carpet on the tunel clean. For exampke, Skoda Superb 3 cover is compatible with regular Tiguan. Allspace... I don't know.

The Tiguan competes with the Rav4,CRV,CX5.
The X1 competes with the Q3,GLA,XC40....people who want Luxury crossovers sneer on VW the same way people who want a Tiguan sneer on Qashqai,Ateca,Sportage because they are smaller, more plastic, and weaker engines.

    • @MN-ch7pc
      @MN-ch7pc 4 роки тому

Not fully true, you have to differ between class AND size!
And therefore the X1/Q3 fits to the Tiguan in size and X3/Q5 to the Allspace.
But in prize both Tiguans are a little bit below class means premium.
Regarding the engines: all engines of the Tiguans can be bought in the Q3 either. So that's not correct...

@@jpch8814 sure not luxury, but gimme an Audi Q3 with the same space of an Tiguan Allspace? You won't get one. So you have to compete with the Q5 or X3 in terms of size.
The Passat Combi for example has the size of the A6 Avant, so in terms of size you can to compare them .
      You know what I mean?
I needed an new car early 2019 and compared A4 Avant, Q5 and Tiguan Allspace. But I had 3x A4 Avant now and with same outer sizes it is smaller than the Tiguan Allspace, besides the Q5 too. So I have chosen the Tiguan Allspace 5 seater. Plus with nearly same setup the Q5 was about 18.000 EUR more in prize which is ridiculous...

I have the 2019 Tiguan you speak of and I have no issue ever getting onto the highway or passing anyone. You fail to mention the torque numbers. My Tiguan moves. Not super fast off the line but once you are going that turbo is no slouch. It’s a proven engine and it works for this vehicle. It’s not a racer anyway and isn’t meant to be. It’s competitive with everything in the segment. I drove them all. And it’s comfortable refined and built like a tank!! I love mine.

Monza 991 well for the low $20’s price I feel it’s more than adequate. I never said it was fast and nobody else does of course; I’m not under an illusion. It performs with the class. Obviously the Porsche should be faster for another $50k. Funny thing is, I also have a 2016 Infiniti Q50 with the V6. It is fast. But my point is going to be that Mercedes and Infiniti and many other manufacturers are all going to a 2.0T. So the Tiguan is looking more & more like it’s more expensive competitors. I’ve told everyone it’s not fast off the line but it pours on non-stop torque once you get going. I truly never have a problem merging or passing or with keeping up in any situation. Other cars shoot out fast then I catch up and pass them and they are out of torque. I will also be looking at the Atlas Cross Sport too when it comes out; but it won’t be a rocket either. And it will cost $41-$55k

Michael Simpkins I own a new Tiguan I hope it’s reliable but I did get the 6 year / 72k warranty. If it’s unreliable I’ll trade it in and cut my losses. I came out of a Mazda. Prior to that I owned 3 Volkswagens and they were reliable up to 110k but then I traded them for newer cars. So far I’m very pleased as I have 7200 miles. It’s built like a tank and very smooth quiet refined with comfortable seats. I drove the CR-V & Rav-4 and Mazda CX-5. The Tiguan felt the best in every way hands down and I bought it right after the test drive. I had spent months driving the models I just mentioned multiple times and didn’t feel excited or assured about any of them. Then spontaneously drove to VW dealer and that test drive sold me fast: I felt great as soon as I got in and turned on the engine. I didn’t show my emotion to the salesman but I knew in my head I was going to get numbers and buy it. It felt that good to me. And they didn’t play games on price, they came off $5000 on the first offer: I know VW is struggling due to DieselGate but that didn’t deter me at all. That long warranty gave me additional peace of mind. I do recommend Tiguan and everyone else I know that has one really likes theirs.
