How much range do you need for remote start?
3 miles it could also be affected by mountain hills and stuff like that. Only for this particular alarm system..
I don't think I need 3 mi of range but it's quite impressive that some malls can even go that high

I have had the hardest time with this compustart remote start. It should be very simple but for some reason it does not start as it should

Reading on the instructions is still been pretty hard for me to get access to the keys to disable and enable it's any way you can have a video that I show me step-by-step how to use the remote you talk about the remote but you don't show a step-by-step remote how to deactivate activate and I need to see that is anyway possible that you can make a video on that It would be great if you could do that I'll be great thanks

Half mode means that you only get confirmation from the system when you lock/unlock your car. Full mode means that if your alarm is triggered, you'll receive an alarm notification.
Why don’t Compustar have plug and play remote starter?
I’m 62 and I can say it’s the worst one that I ever had. It doesn’t give me that 3 miles (5 km). In strait line. I get 450 metres max or 1500 feet which is less than 10% of what promised, and that, everywhere I go. The dealer said he’ll change the module but not sure that he really did because I got about the same range. Then, I got many kind of problems with it. After going over ten times for all kinds of behaviours, the dealer doesn’t answer to me anymore.
I have a 2022 dodge charger my Compustar car alarm t-13 detected a glass break error how can I fix that. My alarm go off everyday 3 times a day.

I'll most likely be doing this at Best Buy can I request they use the specific harness without having to splice into any wires?

Can you please make the pro T13 available for the 2024 Nissan versa S?? I bought one from a certified pro dealer and they convinced me that it would work. Took my car in the next day for them to install it only for them to say that they couldn't get it installed because of the firmware not being updated yet. They won't refund me and I don't have any key fob or security system in my car...

@@herbertruiz5090 its not bad. It will occasionally leave "reservation mode" so i cant remote start if i open the doors between me leaving it parked, and attempting to use it. Other than that its a great winter convenience

What’s the difference between T11 & T12 ?
The T11/T12 are the same remote. The T11 remote start kit used to come with a second 1-way backup remote whereas the T12 kit now includes a second 2-way backup remote, giving you command confirmation on two remotes!

If installing the T12 system, do you lose the functions/convenience features of the OEM key fob?
Nope! In almost all cases, all factory features are retained on the OEM key fob. The one exception is that while the vehicle is remote started, some OEM keyless entry features may be paused. That said, while the engine is off, all OEM keyless entry features should function as normal.
We should leave one remote inside the vehicle right? So my question is what if robber somehow breaks into car? Could he start engine if one of the remotes is inside the vehicle
No you shouldn't leave a key or remote inside of the vehicle

What about kill switch
What would it take to add a keypad like the RPS Touch or the newer KP2 to a vehicle with Ford intelligent access? Mine does not have a factory keypad, and the Ford one that can be purchased is not compatible with intelligent access equipped vehicles. I recently locked my key fob in the car accidentally, and had to retrieve my spare fob from home. I dont want remote start, phone app or anything like that, just the ability to unlock the vehicle from the outside should I inadvertently lock my fob in the car again.

Try setting the turn dial on the DC3 to 10 before starting programming. Then adjust the programming on the DAS-II from there.
You have to charge the Remote via USB, so how long does it last on a charge, Dont want to have to plug and charge it every night

Car battery died after I left the lights on my Honda S2000 over night with a Compustar security system. Tried boosting it but have no life at all. Has to be something with the compustar. Does it need to be reset or something. Is it a security thing after the battery is disconnected or dies?
No, but it is possible that when your battery died, your system went into valet mode. Please lookup on our website or youtube, "How to exit valet mode".

Yes. You will still need your factory key fob to drive your vehicle.
Is the new T13 able to command Aux 1-7 ( if configured on a CMX with the OP-500) like the previous T12 was able to?

You'll still need your factory key to drive the car. Many of our kits come with two remotes, with one working as a backup.

I've worked at Ford 4 yrs, Jaguar 2yrs , Cadillac 3 yrs. Never have i ever once heard of a dealer doing these installs . My 2010 ford focus has one that was offered by ford BUT they no longer can get parts so i'm SOL.. Unless you mean "dealer" as in a local car audio shop... then sure

Is there a option to use proximity entry with my factory key fob and remote start with my factory key fob?
Proximity will only work from the T13/R5 remote. But you can remote start with your factory key fob with Compustar systems.
I have Compustar on my vehicle and now it is more than 2 years and it still fine, however, my 2 way remote was accidentally fell and stepped on and the screen has been black out but still working. Do i have to buy a new once? Is there anyway to fix this?

Yes, you will need the control module to be installed inside yoru vehicle.
Does the prox sensor work on every vehicle with the pro line? I have a 2020 ram 2500 tradesmen. So that’s a cool add on if that will work on my truck. And would make it worth spending the extra money for the pro.
Proximity unlock is only available with the PRO T13 and PRO R5 remotes. Yes, it will be a great add-on for your rig. Nice truck, btw! :)

did compustart dropped the PRO name with the 2021 remote lineup? i know the 2020 T12 used to be labelled T12 PRO.
The T12 is now a core Compustar remote, meaning that it is no longer a "PRO" product. This means that the T12 can be purchased and installed at ANY Compustar retailer!

Car wiring and wiring colors may differ. Other than that, not much difference, especially if you're just up north in Canada.

Do you need the factory remote to install one? My dog ate my remote and I’m looking for an alternative (dealership quoted me $280+ towing fee) plus it would be nice to start it with my phone.
Can this be used with kill switches? I'm talking to security specialists who are convinced kill switches cannot be used alongside systems like compustar and IGLA, because it would generate error codes.
If kill switches are activated on the fuel pump and starter, does that have any impact on this system? Have you guys come across vehicles that already had kill switches installed and then had to work around them due to error codes?

Any of our 2-way remotes will notify you with audible and visual cues when the engine is running. Our security systems also have a Starter-Kill feature that safely disables your vehicle's starter when your system is armed. Even if a thief manages to get inside your vehicle, the engine will not start until your Compustar security system has been disarmed.
What are the key differences of the T13 vs the T12?
The most notable difference between the two is that the PRO T13 has a full-color LCD and includes our Proximity Unlock feature that automatically unlocks your vehicle when the remote is within 3-6 feet of your vehicle. Hi Dennis, sorry about that. We're hoping to expand our vehicle coverage - but are trying to take into account which vehicles our installers are willing to work on. You can technically add a remote start to a Lambo Aventador, but if only .1% of our installers are willing to take on a job like that, we have to list it as incompatible.
Can we start and off car engine from mobile phone apps while we are on overseas ?
Yes. As long as your phone and car have cell reception, you can remote start your car from the DroneMobile app.

I have a 96 Ford. When I looked up wiring setups for the 15,000 foot range. It only had options for 99 and newer. Are there certain inputs that I need to have that kit? Is it possible to jumper? Is there a way to make this work? Never done remote starts but I do electrical work for a living
