Does it roll windows down?
All Compustar alarms can be programmed to roll windows up/down. You can use the aux outputs or some another appropriate output. You will need a window module like the DEI 529t though, because it detects when the window is all the way open and closed and stops the window motor.
I’m thinking of getting this. The R5 looks better because the color LCD screen is probably very fragile to get scratched/messed up in a pocket with other keys. I wish they would use a USB-C port for charging instead of the soon to be obsolete micro USB port.

So if you walk past your car, it unlocks. That's ONLY good if it locks again when you walk away. Did you remember to lock your car? Oh but did you _walk past it_ since you locked it? I can see this leading to many accidental un-lockings.
Simple to resolve. You can add a feature called Auto Relock. Your local Authorized Compustar Pro Dealer will be able to help you out. You can also turn off/on the proximity unlock from either remote.
Can you use this remote as a substitute for your keyless fob? If I'm gonna be carrying around a mini cell phone, I don't wanna have to keychain link it up to my factory fob.
For the proximity feature. Do I need to still carry my key fob with me? Or do I need to carry both of them. My car already has keyless entry.

You can leave the OEM Key Fob hidden in the vehicle. With any version of the Compustar security system you can lock and unlock the vehicle while they key fob is still in.

The proximity feature is nice, but does this system still require the factory key fob in order to use push to start if you're not using remote start? I would have thought by 2020 there would be a total factory key fob replacement available.
The new Compustar KL1 "KeyLocker", which will be coming soon, will allow you to carry only the Compustar Pro T13 or Computer Pro R5 remote and not have to carry around the factory PTS fob. More details will be coming soon for this optional upgrade.

@@62dobie A competent installation technician will be able to add that option for you by either making use of a Homelink button already built into the car or hardwiring a remote control. You will need to supply a preprogrammed controller for the door if going the second route. Enjoy!
Question for anyone that might have experience. Just went to get one installed and was excited about until he told me I’d still have to carry my Dodge fob with the alarm/Autostart fob. That was a deal killer. He told me that most people just hide one of the oem fobs in the car so that you can just carry the one. Sound right?
No. I'd suggest finding a dealer familiar with the KL1 Keylocker and see if that fits your needs.

Tough to find knowledgeable shops, seems like you are one of them. Bummer I am in Arizona! I have python 5706p’s in both my vehicles. Heat frayed a cable in vehicle 1 and shorted out the unit, dealer wouldn’t cover under warranty (could have gone either way). Had another 5706p put in. Wife’s vehicle is having some difficulty now (master unit in car isn’t transmitting acknowledgements back to two way remote). I may abandon the 5706p all together. Haven’t used a Compustar unit yet but enjoyed your review here. Also looks like replacement remotes if needed are exceptionally more affordable than viper/python which is another huge plus (last I checked a retail replacement 2 way remote for me was 249.99). The smartphone/gps plan seems more affordable also. They and Directed doesn’t seem to have done many updates to their product line lately. Will be pinging local auth dealer in my area. Good video!

I like these systems and want to buy one to install in my car however I'm not going to drop my car off at some audio shop and let some kid go digging around for 3 hours splicing and cutting wires all over. It's a shame they won't let people just buy them.
It's all mostly plug and play nowadays. The days of hardwiring systems into your vehicle is well on its way out the door. These days you might have 3 wires if you're lucky to hardwire into the vehicle. You buy a T harness for your vehicle and most of your wires are covered by the T harness.

It sounds like you may have had a bad experience previously. That's unfortunate. I can only speak for us, but I've been in this industry nearly 30 years and my lead tech around 20. I can assure you "kid go digging around for 3 hours splicing and cutting wires all over" is 100% incorrect here. We invest considerable time and money in training for all of our people and we have access to three high level wiring databases including Mitchell's ProDemand, a standard in the overall automotive industry. We also have access to Compustar Authorized Dealer only wiring databases and info from our interface module suppliers. I can assure you there is no better information available. We've also been honored to be a Compustar Regional Dealer of the Year award winner for the past 16 years running, an award given to the dealer with the highest customer satisfaction and lowest defect rates. I hope you are able to find a dealer who will treat your car like one of their own. There are other dealers out there that care like we do.
Hi, I have a push start button on these vehicle Sportage EX 2016 . Local installer told me that I have to have the factory key fob with you all the time for this to work.... is this correct, can you confirm that I have to carry around the factory fob with this remote control all the time?

I currently have a dronemobile LTE with the "Pro T12" remote and would like to have the "proximity Unlock" of the Pro T13 remote. Can I just buy the new remote for that or additional parts needed?

You will need the proper (new) antenna and a compatible controller in the car along with the T13 or R5 remote to get proximity unlock. Your T12 will work with the new antenna but will not have proximity unlock of course. Currently the T13 & R5 systems are compatible with 7200/7000 series controllers with current update. If you happen to have a DC3 controller, they are working on adding that via an update. Chat with your local Compustar PRO series dealer for details and availability.

Its not available for online sales. Its kinda like a restriction for authorized retailers. If they sale it online, they get the boot. You'll notice that the T12 is now available online everywhere but not the T13 since it replaces the T12.

Car should be lock when remote started as a safety issue, this system shows as being unlocked " hopefully it isn't.
Also alarms should have a proximity protection around the car, old alarms in the 80s had it.

These are NOT "Systems". They are add-ons. Firstech/Compustar has changed their offerings, and everything is now modular. For alarm/remote start, you have to buy the 1. CMX remote start brain, 2. Alarm Kit, 3. Blade if security bypass is needed, 4. T13 or R5 remote kit with Drone
There is no reason to make it difficult. Simply contact a competent authorized dealer, choose which remote RF kit / Drone you would like to use and let us/them take care of the rest. Behind the scenes there are plenty more choices involved but the end result is a long lasting system that delivers results for the customer. Compustar systems have been modular for the last 20 years.
Yes, and I have been installing them that long. I suggested explaining the offering better so people could understand. Unless I missed it, you did not say those are JUST the remotes, antenna and drone. The CM7000 max-it kits came with everything needed for remote start/alarm and now they have split off the alarm component into its own thing. Yes, the remote/antenna kits have always been modular on purpose because of the fact their are so many designs for different needs.
Are they using 2G networks??? Those are getting fazed out you are using Mikro USB which is already outdated. OnStar doesn't even work on vehikles 2014 or less anymore bekause they use 2G.
The Drone devices are LTE. 2G units are long gone.

Most likely up an update to the control module and settings changed afterwards. Suggest visiting your local Compustar PRO dealer.

Can the R5 (alone) be added to an existing T12 system to gain the proximity unlock feature?
It's (late) 2020 my T12 is currently the only device I have with micro USB. T13 without USB Type-C is very nearly a deal breaker, for me. Can custom images be uploaded if you don't have 1 of the 3 vehicle types they've optioned?
The R5 will communicate with your current system but no, the R5 needs the matching antenna included with the R5 "RFX" kit to have the ability to do proximity unlock. Your antenna is not capable.
Unfortunately, custom images are not an option at this time.

@@ThomMurphy Sorry for the confusion. The proper model number for the entire "T13" kit is the "RFX-P2wT13-SF" kit. The proper model number for the "R5" kit is the "RFX-P2wR5-SF". Inside either of those kits is an included antenna, model # "ANT-2WSF". The "ANT-2WSF" is required for proximity unlock to function. The "ANT-2WSF" is fully backwards compatible with the T12 remote you currently have just without proximity like you stated. Currently the T13 & R5 systems are compatible with 7200/7000 series controllers. If you happen to have a DC3 controller, they are working on adding that via an update. There are a few other controllers that will not be compatible and as such, figuring out which controller you have will be important before purchasing.

Will proximity unlock work just for the driver door or will unlock all the doors?
It will unlock the same as if pressing the unlock button on the remote or Drone app. Usually that is set up to unlock all doors by default but can be set to unlock only the driver's door. This often involves additional cost though.

Answered elsewhere also but if you want all the features to work you need to buy the entire RF kit and have the controller updated also (assuming it's a compatible controller).

Car battery died after I left the lights on my Honda S2000 over night with a Compustar security system. Tried boosting it but have no life at all. Has to be something with the compustar. Does it need to be reset or something. Is it a security thing after the battery is disconnected or dies?
One thing I learned that my installer did not tell me is that the compustar pro r5 remote one button key fob does not open my rear trunk system unless I use the Drone app that lags in areas I would recommend all trunk release users to use T13 remote because it has trunk release something interesting I've learned is you don't need the lagging app the key fob has the trunk release option, temp., etc.,once I purchase the T13 key fob I've invested over $1000 for my system 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can a Compustar on a 2001 Compustar drone with the full max it kit can it mess up you cars communication from the gem module abs cause it’s connected to foot brake to and clutch plug is unplugged. And my battery died and now I’m having issues big time gem module issues p1000 codes data issues scp data issues

It will partially work but not all the features, such as proximity unlock, will function. Full functionality requires the matching antenna and likely an update to your controller.

Regardless on how thin it is, you still need to carry around the OEM fob to operate the car. It would be awesome if the t13 could replace the OEM fob. One less thing in your pocket..

So there is an ability to not have to carry the fob that comes with the vehicle ok that's cool but will the LCD remote be able to open my windows and my truck as the factory fob does?

@Tyson Marsh what I meant was you can open the windows on a BMW with the factory remote, my question was if this remote will allow all the same functions as the BMW fob and it's there a bypass they allows you to only need one fob and not this one plus the factory.
My car's T13 2 way remote control don't charge anymore and I can't find battery for it.
Take it back to the Authorized Dealer where you bought it from. It may be covered by the three year manufacturer's warranty but only your dealer will be able to help with that.
Too bad you can't trust the walk away arm. A lot of times (no matter where I have it installed, or which brand) the alarm will arm, but doors do not lock. So anyone can walk up and open it (yes alarm will go off) but they can quickly grab what they need. I am here in MN and have had things installed at great dealers and every alarm I have had on every car does this. Now with my drone, half of the time the gps location does not update so it is essentially useless as well, because if the vehicle is stolen it may not update.
Which model do you have? I don't know if I can even try the passive arm with the R5, doesn't seem to be an option on the R5

So all I would have to do is buy a Starter Kit "Brain", Horn Kit with Sensor, Wiring Kit and X1 Drone? Is that all I would need? Also Will the second X1 Drone that I put on the car on the island Require a new subscription?
The remotes can be programed to multiple vehicles though I would suggest using the 2nd car mode on the T13 if there is any chance the vehicles are within range of each other at any time ever. Yes, each Drone module needs a subscription to function. Enjoy!

No. Proximity Unlock only. No plans to add lock at this time. It was available on an earlier generation add-on module and it caused as many problems as it solved.
It does both lock and unlock now with the most recent update and hardware.

@@LiuzziMike If purchased some time ago, the firmware on the hardware will need an update and programming options changed. If purchased a long time ago, new hardware may be needed. Visit your local authorized dealer for help.
CONFUSED: How is the remote such high resistant to water (even dunking into a bucket of water) when the USB port is COMPUTER OPEN to not only dust but of course water. ???
It's an IPX-7 rated device. Sorry I'm not privy to the engineering design specs but that's an international standard used for Ingress Protection. My phone is also water resistant rated and I've snorkeled in the ocean with it taking photos and video without an external case. Of course I thoroughly rinsed it off after use to get the salt off of it and continued to use the phone for years after that. @@Sir_Emo I’d recommend just the drone mobile install. It’s worth the $11-$12 a month for a subscription. I have the compustar 2 way remote starter with the drone mobile app and I use the drone mobile app way more than the remote start that came with it. Wished I would’ve just gotten the drone mobile. The drone mobile is far more reliable than the previous version of it. The app will tell you your battery voltage, location, and whenever the car is started, when it gets turned off and obviously the start/stop your car lol

If you have a regular key fob “non push to start” and use remote start is it possible to just begin driving? And is it possible to remove the remote start timer completely?
The key is required to drive the vehicle. The timer can be varied and there are setting to 'restart' after shutdown but the timer can't be removed completely.
