It was a lot more hard work than I thought it would be.

I was hoping this would help me take tricks to a curb. Need to this a few more time first I thing though.

Enjoyed watching your stick sesh. I completely agree that tricking over something changes it up and I’m better doing stuff off of something rather than over something but like you, taking a piece of wood is quick and easy and makes for a fun sesh 🤘🏻

Yeah I guess doing it off stuff you can just fall with style, as buzz lightyear would say, rather than actually jumping.

Good exercise for beginners, try popping the tail a bit harder to get the board up off the ground. Just give it some welly as they say, you got it 👊

Always got to try and pop higher no matter how high your getting.

Sessions like this are important. I have been doing a lot more basics lately. Trying to fix the foundation so I can maybe progress a bit.
I work 2 hours for a Shuvit and fakie bigspin over a parking block once. Flat ground crushes me.
I have said the same thing about tutorials not mentioning where they are looking.

Yeah its incredible how know one ever says anything about eye positioning. That is one if the main reasons people find doing tricks over or off things harder. I think eye position is more important than foot position. You can get away with a change in foot position but they eyes are a different thing.

This takes me back to when I first started. I was doing Ollies over water hoses. I can see what you mean when it came to the way you look and then doing your tricks. For me it's also muscle memory too.

Muscle memory always plays its part but I feel before you get that they eyes are key.

Cool video, love a stick session. I thought the original shuv was good but fair play for going back and getting one you were happy with! Gutted I had to cancel our session, need to get something in soon!

The first shuv was ok but because it took me that long to get I wanted to try and get another.
As for the balderstone session we'll sort it out soon.

big fan of taking something to flat and doing tricks over it . Here is another challenge I like to set myself . Do all the basic ollies, ollie, nollie, fakie ollie, switch ollie and then all the 180s do like nollie fs 180 nollie bs 180 fakie, switch,. See if you can get all of that over a stick . Also I will be playing a gig in Manchester end of July if you about . Great shredding and the best trick was making the time to shred

Thats sounds like a good challenge only issue is my nollie 180s aint great and never done one switch but now could be a good time to learn.
As for the gig let us know the date and I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I wont be in work the next morning as I start at 6am so going out the night before is a no go.

@amskateboards I am a fake person so my nollies are weak but still like to bring them into the warm up maybe finally unlock the code. My only rule is to pop it ,the height doesn't matter . The gig is on the 27th July probably on around 8/9

What I'm doing tricks up something or I'm doing tricks down something. I never look at my board I'm always looking at obstacle I'm getting close to. It's a matter of trusting yourself to do the trick without looking. That and also muscle memory. I tried doing fakie tricks off of a little ledge and I wasn't looking at where I was popping as a result I popped late and I almost got a popsicle. Just one of many examples.

Yeah I think if you can get more comfortable with tricks you can get away with a change in looking direction. I feel you have to really have the trick dialled for this though.
