I got 2 (close to) perfect IV anubis parents, and am now trying to figure out how to get the passives necessary through cross breeding to get the offspring to breed an Uber Anubis. It took around 50 anubis breeds to get those parents through consistent monitoring of IV's for each offspring. Kept breeding the highest IV's at lvl 1 (112 attack/59 defense). I already got an offspring with musclehead on it and at lvl 28 that thing is a beast, having the same attack (with no upgrades) as an alpha Suzaku at 45. That's guy's gonna stay on my team until I manage to breed the other offensive traits into another Anubis. And ofc, the less talented offspring aren't wasted as they'll eventually be fed to Uber Anubis.
Thank you so much for this video. I been breed Ragnahawk all day for speed skills, both had 4 skills each and I was getting nothing. After swapping them to 2 skills each, I finally got a Ragnahawk with Nimble, Swift, Lucky, Runner. Still took around a dozen eggs to get there. 😁

I got really bummed down because I got to know about IVs later and after I checked... all 3 of those pals have low IVs... Good to know that it wont be so impactful.
It is very impactful. I don't know why the guy says it doesn't but it certainly does. Palpedia website has an iv calculator and whenever you check atk for a lvl 50 maxed strong Pal, the difference can be massive. Level 50 Anubis for example has 592 attack with 1 iv. With 30 attack ivs it has 733 and that is without any attack increasing passive and also without upgrading it for souls.
I like that the IVs exist but I also appreciate they aren't a huge bonus. I can be ok with mid IVs but great traits, and shoot for IVs later if I really want to squeeze some more hours outta the game.

Ok so a small work around is to breed out the extra traits, simple get your four traits on one parent and find one with either one similar trait OR none at all. Now it takes time but it will help to breed that ultimate worker/fighter/mount. I have an oserk with lord of lightning musclehead ferocious and hooligan, took a few hours but once i learned how to isolate traits it went so much faster same with my rayhound
Given the existence of the condenser I think best practice is going to be pretty straightforward. First get your parents lined up with the requisite skills, then breed the 117 pals for the condenser and just select the one that inherited all 4 passives that has the best stats. You might not get a perfect spread but there is no guarantee that when rolling your 70% mutation IV that you don't end up with something high. Given >100 eggs, and ~20-25 having the passives you are looking for, you should have at least one "Better than average"; the rest get the blender. Edit: the key is going to be not jumping ship and boosting the first one that rolls all the passives you are looking for. you might hit a monster pal at 70 you would have otherwise just blended.
This is the legit way to go 100% your going to make all those pals eventually anyway why not do that first n take the pick of the litter! Definitely the smart strats.
Amazing video. The ending breaking it all down how you did was appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to make something massive and intricate simple for a guy like me. 😂
Thanks for this video. I actually came here wondering how to maximize mutations for my Legendary pals. So basically, get a bunch of traits on both parents and that increases the chances of mutations. After you get the mutations you want, breed them to eventually get the desired combinations. If you get less than 4 traits and the mutation you want, the less traits is preferable at that point because the skill will then be less likely to mutate when it is passed down.
Regarding the 2 attack stats. The "melee" stat is not passed down from breeding and is believed to be a leftover stat from Craftopia. So, there is effectively only one attack stat and you can ignore the other.
That was some important info, thx. I got shadowbeak with legend lucky ferocious and musclehead + 30% atk IV and 28% def IV but life one being only 18%, so I decided to continue breeding until I get better IV on hp but after ur vid I guess I will just settle 😅
To clarify you do not need EACH parent to have two total passive skills each, as long as the total # of passive skills from both parents = 4 you get the same odds of a child with all 4 passive skills. For example: 1 + 3, one passive skill parent + three passive skill parent 2 + 2, two passive skill parent + two passive skill parent 3 + 1, same as first one. 4 + 0, four passive skill parent + 0 passive skill parent You need to remember its TOTAL passive skill from each parent not WANTED therefore try to breed out the unwanted passive skills as early as possible.
This explains why my workforce Verdash kept having some very odd children. Will have to keep this all in mind the next time I put them in the cake mines.
I have 73 hours in and thing that is a ridiculous amount to have. I get you do this stuff for a living, but 400 hours... my god mate, talk about dedication. That is a lot of sweaty gamer nights/days. Cheers!
Hey, I don't know if what just happened to me was a coincidence or not. I've been trying all day to breed a warsect with a particular passive combination. I must have bred at least 150 which were all trash. I was running out of palbox space so I thought i'd try something, I took the breeding pair and infused them both up to two star warsects. The very next egg was the perfect combination I was after. I've not seen anyone mention anything about the star level of the parents increasing the chance of good passives being passed on. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Was it just pure coincidence or is there something to this?
I feel like the chance of perfect IVs is leaving out the fact that a baby can theoretically have it's own perfect IVs that weren't carried down through the parents, it doesn't increase the chance by too much, but it would affect the likelyhood of the outcome somewhat.
For beegarde you can use a foxsparx huggy fire if youve levled it up or alpha'd trick is to get them at night while there asleep light em up then catch em hard not to acidentally kill but this is how i got the lvl 38 mammoforest at level like lvl 18 or 20
really hard to get that good random trait when breeding worst trait just to get a good epic pal like orserk and grizzbolt to shadow beak with just 2 traits and the second one is either artisan and serious and the first will be downtrodden or hooligan
As a Pokemon breeder who spent 90% of my 2 decades of Pokemon play time riding a bike back and forth for thousands of hours, I looked at the Alpha Pals and straight up saw that there's very little point in breeding in Palworld.
I definitely did this with my Ragnahawk a few days ago and learned the hard way 4 passives with 3 passives doesnt help but after like 100 eggs i got my desired 4 passives(swift, legend, musclehead, burlybody) and according to the palpedia calculator40/29/29% out of 50/30/30 which is good enough for me
I’ve been trying to breed a warsect with 3 attack passives and burly body for defense using a relax Lux and a sweepa. The issue I’ve been running into is that I have all the passives on my relax but no passives on my sweepa, which has resulted in hatching many warsects without all four passives. I’m glad that the idea of using parents with two passives each is being spread around cause it’s gonna help me out a ton for my breeding ideas. (TLDR, I wanna make an all dragon team for endgame. I was breeding a warsect to act as a tank for the team I’ve been running 😊)
If you're already IV and Passive breeding, worst case you can save the failed breeds as condensing materials to star up the good breed and get it to 4 stars right away, allowing for an even higher stat increase across the board. You will need 116 extra copies in total to make a 4-star pal, something which, again, can be done easily from breeding and have some use to those failed rolls. TLDR: Breeding is a hassle, but can be beneficial on the long run for getting a maxed out pal in other different aspects if you're willing to hardly invest your time on it.
4:48 that is actually incorrect. The attack shown in the game is not whichever the melee or ranged attack is higher. The attack shown is always the ranged attack.
Yeah, my guess is that the game currently do not use melee attack value. They may do the melee/range split down the road, but the move pool is too shallow to do that now.
All eggs start with level 1 pals, so catching in the wild would be better anyway. The level of the pal would be better over stats, which will always be higher in the wild, as long as they do not have negative ones.
Hi I think only the shot attack matters while the melee is a scrapped stat. For instance, jormuntide has base 120 shot and base 150 melee. It will use the 120 shot base, not the higher of the two.
1:56 actually the best way to increase production for cake is to condense them into a single, i find i need 1 chicken, 2 cows and 1 beeguard to create a sufficiant amount as its all gets automatically moved to your feed box and some will be lost to spoiling or eaten if you dont move it to a fridge fast enough... but if you condense a mozzerina to be a lv 3 or 4 milk maker you then only need 1 mozzerina then you allocate souls to its work speed do the same with the chicken the beeguard lv 1 seems to produce more then enough honey but because honey doesnt spoil it doesnt hurt to upgrade the bee guard, after this between 4 and 6 wheat plots with a lyleen and ithere a suzaku aqua or a broncherry aqua and you will have cake for years all you need then is a jormentide ignis to cook the cakes efficiently, then you should have enough production that you should be able to run 2 breeding farms effectivly, i have 2 breeding ranches myself with this set up ither so i can breed 2 different pals at once or speed up breeding when im looking for specific stats and passive skills as well as increased breeding so condensing itno a more powerful pal can happen faster, when ever im only using the 1 breeding farm i use the other to store the over flow cake
The only reason i dont mention jormentide as a waterer is cause they are so massive they have a hard time moving around properly and still glitch a fair bit not as much as before thats to the devs working on the pathing issues, but i find with jormentide specifially when i want a water job dont fast i only bring him out of the pal box to do the job then put him back seems to help avoid much trouble, idk y jor ignis has less pathing issues but it does
Im very interested in the ranged/physical split on attacks/breeds. Didnt know that was a thing, but it makes sense that my 800atk swift/runner/vanguard shadowbeak does more damage than my 1300 atk orzerk if i have the wrong moves on him.
Just gonna assume this process wasn't focused on a ton by the devs and we'll get breeding changes at some point moving forward to make this more possible without dedicating a month to it. Unless they give a statement on it as to why they made it so hard to get perfect ivs with traits. I was wanting to prep for PvP getting added as a way to have extra reasons to play though I guess I'll just be focusing on the traits
I'm currently breeding Anubis for crafting. Using a 3 passive mother and 1 passive father (Lucky, Artesian, Serious, Workaholic). So far I've hatched 4 of them out of about 20 eggs so far. SO in theory I believe you can do a 3-1 passive split as well. Just can't exceed 4 total.
What would happen if you where to release an aqua pal and recapture it would you get pal fluid again fron re-capturing the pal i am having this thought at work
I thought there might be some type of iv stat. I noticed my pets would have different stats even if they were the same level, and didn’t have any traits to boost that stat
Try catching beegard at night. They fall asleep and i think that makes them easier to catch. Either way, get a ton of spheres and be prepared to die lol
IV's are worth it 100%, when fully maxed out at 5 stars and all souls difference between 15% and 30% is like over 350 attack. That is worth more than a 20% trait on every stats im pretty sure (Atleast for attack its better to have perfect attack iv with just legend + musclehead than having both with ferocious and 15% roll)
I have the shadowbeak tower boss, he can breed with normal shadowbeaks but have not checked if the crazy stats transfer to the new shadowbeak, may try it again on next playthru =)
If you just bread random parents with 2 skill you still get 1/1457 chance to get a perfect pal sound a lot but of its something that's not wild you want to condense you'll need 117 anyways so you could get a full set of perfect passives fully condensed with 1 being purchased perfect and the 4 being close, but if you want it to be top 20% you'll probably end up breeding enough to get one close just from condensing and passives breeding.
I started with looking for IVs and then tried breeding for good mutations with 1 skill pals. Now I have Ferocious Legendary Musclehead Ice Emperor 33%HP Increase 30%ATK 30%DEF Frostalion. Remaining pals were condensed and sold. It took 3 days and hundreds eggs, but it's ridiculously strong and can solo help kill shadowbeak boss with dragon skills.
Considering it takes over 120 pals to get a 4 star pal I think it’s good odds cause once I get that perfect iv pal I’ll have about the perfect amount to max condense it
In my experience it seems like each pareny has a 33% chance to pass down its own ivs per stat and the chance for each statvto mutate is only 33%. I have two perfect iv lfimunk that make a perfect lifmunk iv 2/3 times on an average of over 400eggs.
I’ve got two nicely IV’d Suzuka going right now that I’m trying to hit that .5% on lol, trying to get a Legend, Swift, Musclehead, Ferocious one to have as my main mount. Think I’m about 60 or so breedjects in
The funny thing is, none of the offensive pal passives matter. You're better off using gobfins and gobfin ignis with vanguard and stronghold strategist with 1 beefed up mount that makes you deal elemental damage and has that element's passive buff to act as a body shield. Can your Pals kill Frostallion before I empty 3 clips of my AR into its pretty white skull?
You can get honey from Cinnamoths. I used the 4 honey I got from them on two cakes to cross-breed two Beegardes. I think I used Daedream+Mozzarina for breeding. You need the cows anyway for milk and Daedreams are easy to get.
Ive breeding for 2 weeks now, splitting the 4 passives I want between mom and dad. Bred 120 of each every time. I never once had offspring with all 4 passives. 3 at best.. I started upgrading the 3 passive ones and gave up breeding the perfect pal
You just had bad luck. though I get it. Out of about 100 digtoise I had about 6 of them with all 4 passives I wanted, using two with different pairs of passives
Haha yeah, just gonna stick to worrying about passives.😂 Had a feeling more than 2 passives was screwing me trying to breed down. Glad to be able to confirm that.😅
The child has a very high chance to gain one or more of the passives from the parent but the chance for all 4 is obviously lower the just getting one or two
To my understanding part of this information is inaccurate. Having the same 4 passives on both parents is no worse than having the 4 passives on one parent and nothing on the other or having a the 4 passives split across the 2 parents with no extra passives. This info comes from a dataminer who looked into the breeding code in depth. The "mutation rate" as you call it is fixed and not in any way dependent on the amount of passives the parents have.
@@Willow4526 The video references such data but doesn't like to it. Furthermore an extremely reliable source (the guy that complied the data on the breeding species calculation and on how IVs work) has pointed out that the 30% chance to inherit IVs is a misinterpreation of the data. It's not 30% split between the parents, it's 30% for each parent, leading to a 60-40 split instead of a 30-70. So yeah, I'm gonna take the conclusions of this video with a huge grain of salt until I see the data myself.
IVs make your passive much stronger though. I test like 100 jormuntide ignises all with lucky. The base attack had a low range of like 701 attack and the highest I had was 770 attack. 15% boost to attack on a 701 vs a 770 is huge. Especially when you take into consideration other passive skills like ferocious or muscle head it's even stronger.
I think just breeding for the passive skills and using the statue of power still seems more worth it to me. But I was already doing that before I just heard there are IV's. But I'm still not seeing any video that explains or proves there are IV's.
Right now im just wanting a Ore Pit, Sulfur Pit, Coal pit ect... Let us find schematics or something...unless there pals that drop ore in the ranch? lol?
So basically for a casual player, just breed for the 4 passive skills you want then enhance stats at a statue of power and you'd save way more time and still be happy with more gameplay to accomplish in your time playing the game?
You more or less have a high chance to get the passives of the other parent outright so its good if you wanted it on the child. So its a good idea to save passiviless pals for this reason
so question. if your IV in hp is 100 lets say you get 10% bonus to your HP. does that mean if its 80 ivs in your HP stat does that mean you get an 8% bonus to your HP?
So the point is that on average most pals will have around 50 on each IV, so to go from 50 to 100 on any stat, will only be effectively a 10% increase to that stat. So if you where to have a pal with 0 IVs (which is impossible iiuc) & one with 100 there would be about a 20% difference.
I think every 5 points is 1% and the bosses start with a base 50 points out of 100 which is 10% so increasing it further to the possible maximum of 100 points will only yield a 10% increase and is generally not worth the time. The example that you've stated: every 10 points is 1% so 80 points would be 8% with 100 points being 10% with only a 2% difference between 80 and 100 points. Like I stated above, it's generally not worth the time.
You need ore for everything lol. You can kill alpha bosses and sell drops just as easy and not as wasteful. People keep saying nails, but calculated for the ore isn't worth it
If this is true... Its gonna slow my progress down a whole lot XD But thanks for the tip about only having 2 passives on each parrent. That part would have been nice to know long ago....
Until there's some sort of endgame content that requires really strong pals, I'm not going to worry about IVs. I do think it's cool that the community is getting into it, though.
When i heared about the IV'S IN this game after spending countless hours breeding and giving pal soul to my 5 fav pal's i was done with the IV's and i dont want to go through those breeding process again even if the pvp is good im just gonna stick to my main team and just have fun. its just so time consuming....

I can see my self breedding for a prefect IV at least once, very helpful video!
btw theres a underground modding network working hard to expand breeding to player interaction and to add zoe as a pal
For example:
1 + 3, one passive skill parent + three passive skill parent
2 + 2, two passive skill parent + two passive skill parent
3 + 1, same as first one.
4 + 0, four passive skill parent + 0 passive skill parent
You need to remember its TOTAL passive skill from each parent not WANTED therefore try to breed out the unwanted passive skills as early as possible.
Cheers!
Lol the thumbnail is hilarious
For beegarde you can use a foxsparx huggy fire if youve levled it up or alpha'd trick is to get them at night while there asleep light em up then catch em hard not to acidentally kill but this is how i got the lvl 38 mammoforest at level like lvl 18 or 20
to get the cake in order to breed the beeguard you can safely kill cinnamoths by tossing a pal at them and running away (they drop 1 honey each)
really hard to get that good random trait when breeding worst trait just to get a good epic pal like orserk and grizzbolt to shadow beak with just 2 traits and the second one is either artisan and serious and the first will be downtrodden or hooligan
As a Pokemon breeder who spent 90% of my 2 decades of Pokemon play time riding a bike back and forth for thousands of hours, I looked at the Alpha Pals and straight up saw that there's very little point in breeding in Palworld.
i bred a 28% hp 30% atk 24% def blazehowl noct with all good passives and it took me around 200 eggs, and yes both parents were full 20%+ on ivs
Hp goes to 50 though. So while atk and def are pretty nice, hp isn't that crazy.
@@VenoXj1 hp does not go to 50.

Amazing content !
Just breed two of the warsect offspring together that collectively have all 4.
Yeah the melee stat is leftover/none utilised code, its functionally completely useless.
The melee stat is leftover/unutilised code, it has no effect on pals or the game at all.
I'm sorry, not Lucky, but Work Slave is the passive.
In my experience there is a negligible difference between breeding 2-2 traits and 3-1 traits.
As long as the traits don’t overlap you’re golden.
@@DoctorNerf yeah that’s what I’m seeing as well
I'll die on the hill that Coromon has the best stat & shiny system. If you know, you know, otherwise you should check it out.
In regards to iv. It is possible for a pal to have a 0. I have a lvl 1 bellanoir with a 0 attack IV
Mutations happen if you roll a space on a parent OR if you roll a double passive skill which were on both parents.
I have the shadowbeak tower boss, he can breed with normal shadowbeaks but have not checked if the crazy stats transfer to the new shadowbeak, may try it again on next playthru =)
I feel like you guys talking about Ark Survival Evolved breeding would be just as many numbers as this Palworld breeding guide..
Can your Pals kill Frostallion before I empty 3 clips of my AR into its pretty white skull?
how do you breed beegaurd if you dont have cakes?
Glad to be able to confirm that.😅
but what is if you use one parent with no skills and one parent with 4?
i was wondering the same cuz its pretty easy to buy and stack pals with no passives at all from the black marketeer :P
Ppl have done the actual breeding tests & have data showing there's a far greater chance of passives passing down when parents have 2 passives each.
@@ctom42 look up Austin John gaming, he's literally done the breeding & has data showing the results.
What about 3 passives on 1 parent and 1 on the 2nd...
Or 4 on 1 and none on other?
so just to get this clear, i should level up new pals a little bit before checking there iv's? so that the calculator can get proper data?
Damn, now I need to check all my 4-traits to make sure they're not below average IVs...
Sounds like you'll have a good number of left over pals to do merging once you have your perfect pal. Maybe it's all intentional then.
That's only 10% boost from 700 to 770... Like the video said.
10% is huge@@Willow4526
Say you want a pal with passives A B C D, would breeding pal ABC with pal D be the same chances as pal AB with pal CD?
Austin john gaming did a good amount of the testing.
how you can breed beeguard for honey farming while you need honey first to made cake for breed?
You can kill them and they drop honey. You can then use that to make cake, to make the first few to use in your farm.
@@hitoseijuro5673 lmao but he said if we are low level and not able to fight beeguard xD
it seems trying to get IV is a fools errand and its far easier to plan andcheck for a 30% passive trait
What’s happens to the % chances of passives passing if one parent has no passives?
You more or less have a high chance to get the passives of the other parent outright so its good if you wanted it on the child. So its a good idea to save passiviless pals for this reason
do not use an IV calculator, get vortex or cursedfuorge, install the mod Pal IVs. works everywhere, shows you the IV's right next to the stats, OP
so question. if your IV in hp is 100 lets say you get 10% bonus to your HP.
does that mean if its 80 ivs in your HP stat does that mean you get an 8% bonus to your HP?
So basically ignore IVs and breed for your passives, and if you really want to min max, do 4 passives + hp
You can get milk, berries, eggs, and wheat from the traveling merchants. Ore farm for nails and a honey farm is a lot faster.
You need ore for everything lol. You can kill alpha bosses and sell drops just as easy and not as wasteful. People keep saying nails, but calculated for the ore isn't worth it
If this is true... Its gonna slow my progress down a whole lot XD
But thanks for the tip about only having 2 passives on each parrent. That part would have been nice to know long ago....
If I had to guess the presence of the Condenser is the reason IVs are so negligible
Apparently you can breed vixeys using a fox and a chicken. I'm trying to breed a lucky chicken to get more eggs but hey lucky vixeys for days
What about Lucky? doesn't it guarentee 1 IV maxed?
I have a few lucky pals and well I can firmly say no. I don't have any pals with 100 IV of any stat some are close in the 90s, but thats about it.
Until there's some sort of endgame content that requires really strong pals, I'm not going to worry about IVs. I do think it's cool that the community is getting into it, though.
Im the guy learning this that didn't know how much he loved it😢😢😢
I like the system more than a mon game. Perfect ivs are always hard, but i wish the breeding trees were easier to understand like a mon game game.
Where can i see the sheet with pals stats
What if I have a pal with all of the skills I want on the child but the other parent has 0 skills?
I just hope they add the ability to hatch Alpha's.. just a nice 1-5% chance to become an alpha size.. that excitement and fun would be dope!
I think that would be fine if it just affected size. Otherwise for optimization reasons, I would find it annoying.
When i heared about the IV'S IN this game after spending countless hours breeding and giving pal soul to my 5 fav pal's i was done with the IV's and i dont want to go through those breeding process again even if the pvp is good im just gonna stick to my main team and just have fun. its just so time consuming....
What if I have 1 parent with 4 desired traits and 1 parent with no traits?
