loving yr vids of the CWT! planning to do this next april/may, never occured to me to go to strathcarron and go this route, think i might go this way, absolutely stunning..binge watching the rest..ATB WJ
Hi, thanks for watching. I wanted to try to stick to the Cicerone guide’s main route as much as possible. The stretch from Bendronaig Lodge to Ling Hut is brilliant, especially when the views open up and the Torridon range comes into view! Perhaps next time I’ll take more of the alternative routes? Good luck for you CWT next year! Atb, Andrew
Most CWT Vid,s take the Coulin Pass route, well done for taking the more arduous path. The view,s of the Torridon hill,s are superb. Looking forward to your next vid, around Beinn Eighe, done that many year,s ago, it,s hard going.
Thanks Steve! Scotland is so far away for me that I wanted to make the most of the trip, try to follow the Cicerone guide’s main route and take in all the best views. Day 7 would actually end up being my second longest hiking day, but I was treated to a fantastic sunset as I passed Lochan Fada on my way to Loch an Nid. The only bit I ‘missed’ on the rest of the trail was the dog leg section to Shenavall Bothy part way through Day 8. Beyond that, the descent into Glen Douchary from Inverlael, Inchnadamph to Glendhu Bothy, the ascent of Ben Dreavie (wonderful views) and the tough sections from Badcall to the Cape via the stunning Sandwood Bay on Day 13 are all coming up 😅. Great video nice to see that route. The Coulin pass route I rook was much less scenic.
Thanks Dennis! I was lucky with the weather (again), it cleared up just at the right time to get those views of the Torridon mountains. Atb, Andrew
