    HUMAN ENERGY PLUS ELECTRICAL ENERGY PROVIDES MOBILITY AND STATIONARY
    POWER
    1.1 POWER LEVEL: Up to 2,500 Watts of human powered electrical generation
    and up to 10 Kw-Hrs of stored electrical energy are combined to provide
    both vehicle power (up to 50 Kw) and standby power up to 3 Kw supplied as
    120 Volt AC. Prototypes have powered freezers and lights for days when
    Utility power was unavailable.
    1.2 SPEED OF OPERATION: The vehicle is designed for speeds in excess of 200
    Kilometers per hour (125 MPH), although in most jurisdictions the maximum
    speed allowed may be 50 K/Hr or less.
    1.3 RANGE: The battery complement and the speed of operation along with
    the amount of added human electrical generation will cause the range
    to vary from 50 Km (30 miles) with a 2.5 Kw-Hr battery pack and no
    additional generation up to 250 Km (150 Miles) using the 10 Kw-Hr battery
    supplemented by human generation. Your results will vary with the speed
    of operation.
    1.4 BATTERIES: Basic model battery pack uses rugged AGM-type lead acid

    I wish I could find some info on it, like how fast or far can you go with just using the pulling motion? Do you charge it? Or how long does it take to get power winding it like in the vid? Too many unknown for me to buy it.

    Cranking a car to turn on is an old concept dating back since the late Victorians and early Edwardians. They knew what they were up to. Great idea of you to take the cranking from the front of the car to doing it on the actual steering wheel. You make the Victorians proud (they were suspicious of the internal combustion). Great homage to the ancient (real classical) cars. Thanks for sharing and peace.

    Can I ask, does rowing generate more energy input than cycling? Why go with a rowing action?

    • @tanalson
      @tanalson 4 місяці тому +1

      I guess more energy input but you will excert a lot lesser energy on your part(due to a much longer stick as compared to a bicycle pedel)

  • @adrift-at-c
    @adrift-at-c 14 років тому

    @MrPufins they do, on a car it's called an alternator. As the wheels spin, they recharge the starter battery. Hybrids have something a little more powerful, and a little closer to what you're thinking of. Whenever you go downhill or break in a hybrid it recharges the battery. The problem with a system like the one you're describing is that you still need to put the energy to get from A to B into the car, and not all of the energy can be recovered by a generator.

    I think this is a brilliant idea. Like some have said, doesn't look like it'd hold up in a crash, but it's just a concept. Brilliant idea with the electric motor. For all of you who wants to know how it would do going up hill? An electric motor has more torque then a gas motor. It would do just fine, unless it were a 3 mile hill. Then you might get a little tired. With big capacitors and decent batteries you could make this thing pretty much a beast! Love it!

  • @SwampFox0001

  • @jeseale
    @jeseale 13 років тому +1

    This is just simply amazing. This would help the world so much. It would help us to wean ourselves from the use of fossil fuels to power our vehicles which would lower energy costs around the world and possibly lower the USA's national debt or at least slow down our spending. And on the plus side, it would make the driver exercise and get into shape and falling asleep at the wheel would almost never happen in one of these. I would love to have one when they are available to the public.

    I want to see this on the flat ground. I noticed it is all filmed in the mountains going down hill. I think this car is cool and works but I happen to know a little about flywheels and kinetic energy and this movie is a little deceiving to me. But still all in all a good idea and great looking car. In real life and flat ground to gain and sustain your speed like this video shows you would have to pump the handles a lot more that this movie shows.

    • @shaherizadparse1380
      @shaherizadparse1380 9 років тому

      Alan Riser I see no reason to think that this video is deceptive, or to claim that it only filmed the car going downhill. The vehicle also uses a battery (as explained in the description) so it does not need to be pumped constantly.
      This vehicle was also featured in a National Geographic video and I believe they said it could go over 90 mph on flat ground and 30 mph up steep hills.

  • @SwaveyOG
    @SwaveyOG 14 років тому

    @nsa162 I could be wrong but I think its street legal because its classed as a bicycle and not as a motor vehicle (non combustion engine) thus having no need to install seat belts but depending what country you are from you are required to wear helmets if this is the case...like I said I could be wrong but that's my take on it
