Not as big of a “boat guy” as I am a “car guy” or “motorcycle guy” but this is probably my favorite vid series. Great job on these ones.

This three part series of the new jetboat was awesome. Looks like such a great community of people willing to help just to get people out on the water. Excited to see this boat get fixed up over the winter!
Saved many an automotive flood motor the same exact way with no negative effects. Blows my mind every time. In my experience if it’s not hydrolocked, it will live. But the water has to come out fast. Just as these men did it. Wish I had friends like that. Don’t know what happened. Seem to be on my own now. Seeing this reminded me of some great times and some amazing wrenching. Thank you!
Loved the 3 part series. It was an expensive weekend of figuring out a new boat, but still fun. I drive past the old Kilowatt stadium site in Memphis, and reminds me of all of the boat racing we had around Memphis when I was a kid up in Memphis and down at Sardis and Grenada lakes in the 60-70s. I’d love to see more South East drag boat racing.
Bummer when there's problems but blessed just to be able to participate. Beautiful place and I pray our American way of life will continue on for generations.
Awesome boat and a good time! First thing I was taught as a little fella, when an engine is doing weird unexplainable stuff, start checking grounds and voltages. Especially on a boat! Corroded ground connections are the devil. Saved me tons of money, time, and stress. Simple stuff sometimes eludes us when you're dealing with a motor worth xx,000 dollars haha.
I love how Mike gets a trophy for 2nd place as a kind of participation award and won 250 dollar with a terrible run. Everything broke, at the end he borrowed half his boat of others, all race passes were awful but he still "finishes on the podium" and even "won a race". Most importantly he reunited with a lot of friends. Looking forward to more dragboat racing videos, hopefully with a few good rips.
Can't believe you at all!! A day spent on the lake with a bunch of friends was "OK" Bad Finney!!! OK, the boat broke, you didn't go super fast. You had challenges. But, you spent a weekend with old friends.
I've only seen a jet boat out in the wild once and it still has a place in my memories. Those things are beyond cool, and it really seems like they have the community to match, which might be even more important. Awesome boats with awesome people! :)
Love the boat, love the name! All boats are sidechicks because they are all expensive and they will let you down. It's all part of the fun. Looks like one hell of a fun weekend. Cheers!🍻
great series of videos, was great to see everyone helping out, lending knowledge, parts, tools, and just general support. thats how its supposed to be.
This brings back a lot of memories.. I was a young man hanging with Mr. T ( moose) at the time, first boat was a unblown flat bottom ( verboaten) and then switched to a blown fuel hyro shovel nose , I can't remember who it was flown by ... Always wanted to get back into it, life got in the way , Mr. T passed away and I have great memories at Columbiaville mich
Mike honestly I loved this series, good friends having fun helping each other have fun, doesn't get any better than that, the racing is just the excuse to get together and hang out, loved every minute of it man
Thanks for sharing your journey in returning home, literally through Temecula, to seeing old friends in jet boat racing. Loved the subplot of seeing old friends, and the value brought to your life, intertwined with the journey of the boat. Each turn as a viewer, hoping each adjustment would bring remedy to a great run, only to feel the disappointment, and the conquest for a great run, is still being elusive. I hope you continue the conquest next spring and share in new videos, you have clearly rekindled the joy of jet boating with a lot of former owners as myself. Thanks!
I love that you are a giddy as a little kid on Christmas morning when you are doing this. The joy you feel shows. You're in your happy place and it shows. please keep us involved.
The banter in the pits at night time swinging spanners brings back so many memories, how a turn of events and every single part can fail in one weekend, and then the following meet you can have nothing but spare time between runs. That's racing! Hope you get it sorted asap. 👍 Also loved the cinematography shots of this 3 part series well done 👏
Now that was a great series of videos. So sorry about the problems , but I am sure you'll get them resolved during the off season. I love watching boat drags, although I would never do it ( too much of a landlubber) .I had a ride once in an 18 ft. Donzi with a V drive with an L88 and it scared the crap out of me. You guys are crazy (lol) . Thanks for the videos !!!
Early on in the episodes, you said something to the fact of if this boat runs right, it's Game ON. I was all about the name Game On, especially since you sold Gameover and bought this one. Your explanation of Side Chick was spot on. Good luck this winter.
Great video of a bunch of great guys helping each other out. I agree with not naming it Sidechick, that's a very common name. Good luck Mike I'm sure you'll get it dialed in.
B.O.A.T. Break out another thousand! .......... but a bad day on the lake is still better than a good day at work....... even mike Finnegans work! good luck getting her to act right this winter!
So to recap Mike sold Game Over because it was too complicated, bought a “simpler” boat to fight all weekend with simple problems. Love it. It’s just how life is. Awesome series. Always entertaining. Glad to know it’s not just me.
I was never really interested in this type of racing until watching this series and seeing the inner workings of it all so thank you for broadening my interests, hope to see more
Looked like you had a great time. No matter how good someone says something is, remember... they are selling you something that is used and not recently run. So, go through that thing from top to bottom and get ready for next season. I'm looking forward to seeing how she runs when its in top form!
I'm not sure but thinking it was one of the fabricators who helped with the HemiGremi , I'm sorry if I got that detail wrong. Shooting from memory and not confirming with google.
Excellent series! As a long time troubleshooter, there's nothing like the thrill of the hunt for what's wrong, and the feeling of satisfaction when you finally kick its ass. I know you'll get that feeling soon...the potential in that boat is strong motivation!
Roadkill or Boatkill wouldn't be a thing without Mike Finnegan. Just shows up and makes a show where everything breaks, lots of laughs and somehow makes it interesting and entertaining. 😂 Thanks Mike
Mike you are my hero with all the auto related failures that seem to plague your projects ( not implying they are your doing) you manage to be positive , have a good time and don't let us viewers ever see that it bothers you or ruins your day. Even with the Mazdaratti stolen and some low life steeling your grand fathers tools. That my friend is a quality that few people posses. Maybe its your love for beer? Either way as a dodge man you have my respect and best wishes for you and your family. Merry Christmas if your really good maybe Santa will leave a nee charging system and brain box ( Msd 7a) ) or what you need under the tree. If anyone knows whats going on it will be Santa.
