Wow Lorelie, it's wonderful to see a true professional at work. Your design is stunning and I'm sure the Bride and Groom were overjoyed with your beautiful creation. You really deserved that margarita at the end!
I've just been watching a true artist at work. Wow, that was awesome. Lucky couple in choosing you for their special celebration. Not only gorgeous but also super delicious. 🥳 💖 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱
Its delish. It is really soft though. Keep that in mind. the buttercream dam helps to keep it in place I like to use it to fill cupcakes and as a over all flavor boost.
Wow what a beautiful wedding cake. It looks incredibly delicious and breathtaking. Joined your channel. Looking forward to more beautiful cakes and great recipes😊
I love seeing your cats playing and zooming about in the background! This is such a beautiful and pretty cake! Some really useful tips too! 😻😻 Transporting a wedding cake to a venue is so stressful! 😹😹
@@CakesWithLorelie - I delivered a wedding cake to a friend's wedding the other day; the worse part by far was carrying the cake to the car, and then carrying the cake to the table! Also, The Editor was under strict instructions not to brake hard, or take any corners fast! 😹😹
@@BlackCatKitchen Yes I was bracing myself at every turn as if that would make a difference LOL. Most often we deliver them in sections for a less stressful ride.
So beautiful 😍.. And Those flowers so Preety ❤️.. Btw Did you always put flower directly on cake surface?.. I'm normally coated the strand with flowers tape..
Thanks Diana. The top tier is protected with waxed paper and then a mound of buttercream to stick the flowers into. The others are just laid onto the cake I don't stick them in. It depends ion the cake and the flowers and whether or not they need to go into the cake, Generally I lay them atop the cake though.
Not a fan of how the flowers were adorned it's a 101 no-no. Didn't see any parchment or buttercream that they were inserted in, stems were not cake safe either in chocolate or a cake safe spray coating or a florist vile of some sort. The flowers came straight out of a case of water and placed on the cake, water and all, at least that's what is shown in the video. Thumbs down on safety here, sorry.
Hi Lorelie. I was just wondering if you have a recipe for the carrot cake. My sister is getting and asked me to make her a carrot cake but I'm afraid other recipes might be too soft. Thanks for this video!
Yes I do! An amazing one. You will have to freeze the layers it to put it all together as a wedding cake. I have a guide at the website with all the steps. The recipe is here on UA-cam and also in my book. The link to the book is in the description here is a link to one of the vids with the recipe. ua-cam.com/video/N-0ECTZHhgw/v-deo.html
Hi Catherine, the cake is a 12 9 6. The top goes to the bride and groom and the rest will feed up to 114 people. They are so tall that you dont need a huge piece. I've also noticed the caterers sometiimes cut the cakes halfway down and serve up a shorter piece. Which would make the cakes go a long way. I always would make extra cake for the events. (usually in the form of an extra 10 inch on the side. ) This way the people who work the wedding will also get a piece. And the bride and grooms family can sometimes bring leftovers home for the next day etc. I t's also a way to get many people tasting your cakes and hopefully recommending you to others. Kepp in mind these are three layered cakes. I used to make two thicker layers of cake and filling and changed it to three eventually to make for taller cakes ( kind of trendy)
@@CakesWithLorelie thanks so much, that's very helpful! I'm baking my sister's wedding cake for next weekend and keep finding conflicting advice about how far the cake will go. It will be 12, 9, 6 cake with three 2 inch layers each. I had thought about a back up cake but my sister feels it will be too much work. Thanks again for taking the time to reply to me.
Hi Lorelie, Will that filling get firm? , cause I am afraid if you use it in a biscuit cake and you have to transport it...it will easily slide between the layers. Straws or dowels will not be enough I am afraid.
Regular cream cheese filling is a little safer, or you can use lemon extract. A new discovery is lemon Iced tea added to the buttercream. It will firm up when chilled yes but I would not use it unless you have a dam and keep it well chilled during delivery.
Hiii I have a small doubt . I’m planning to make similar carrot / cream cheese cake for tiered cakes . Since the frosting is runny not sturdy I’m little scared for tiered cakes . Would you suggest to choose the carrot / cream cheese for top tier ?
@@joshimanivannan2667 It's important to kjeep the cakes cold . This will keep the buttercream firm. Also use a smallish amount. Don't overfill. The other option is to add some of the buttercream to thecream cheese icing. Other option is to use just buttercream whuich is very good as is or you could get cream cheese extracy flavoring (never trieds that one) Lemon buttercream is great wuth ccarrot cake. The cakes will be doweled and chilled. You do have to be a little more careful with a filling like cream cheese.

I normally use buttercreM FOR THE OUTER FROSTING WHICH MAKES IT MORE STABLE. Or just use the carroyt cake for the top. C
@@CakesWithLorelie so is it ok to use runny frosting for the filing and Swiss meringue buttercream for the dam and outer frosting?
