Happy New Year! You are going to be busy! I want to add some small embroidery touches to some garments. I'm attending a slow sewing class next week. I think we are making a fabric collage, which will include some embroidery. It is at this same place you can attend every Wednesday and bring some slow sewing, or what I would call hand sewing. I want to attend, and bring a quilt my Grandmother made me that needs repair. I know i could do this at home. One of my goals for 2025 is to be more social. I'm fine being with friends and family, but I've always struggled joining anything with strangers, and I'm 66. It will be a challenge, but I feel a necessity.
What fun plans you have Judi for 2025! I love the idea of the embroidery and that book looks amazing. Yes your Fleur dress is absolutely gorgeous and so special when you bought the fabric here in Portland❤
Great plans for 2025. Yep - that’s Fleur dresss on you is perfect. Mine went to the Goodwill and will bless someone else with Liberty Poplin Fabric to boot! I’ll make it again in Rayon (Viscose) someday.
With you all the way on favourite dress in the summer. Just stunning. Also agree all the way with curtain making- can’t stand it and won’t do it😂😂. Not so keen on quilting either but a block a week doesn’t sound too bad 🤔. Good Luck with your plans. Happy New Year. 😊 Lynne
Great plans Judi, you are going to be busy. I’ve just made my first Nina Lee sweater dress and love it. I’m currently making quilted sewing mats for my sewing machine and Overlocker. I did some quilting a few years ago and really enjoyed it so I may have another dabble as I can’t make my mind up about which garment I want to sew next, too many choices. ❤❤
Hi Judi, I’m excited to see your progress on your embroidery journal as I’ve just started one too, although I’ve never embroidered before😬 I’ve also got the 365 days of embroidery book and have so far managed to do the months around the edge - as I was so keen to start I’ve done this during betwixmas! 😂
I too have bought myself the Year of Quilting book. Had a nice time choosing fabrics in the recent sales. I'm sure I won't achieve a block a week and like your idea of writing dates on the block instr pages. I shall look forward to watching your progress!
Gosh I haven't embroidered since I smocked a maxi dress in 74! But looking at your plans has given me the urge to do something. Luckily we have a sewing shop in Driffield which always has the most beautiful quilts in the window.I'll pop in when they open next week. Happy New Year!
I'm totally here for your daily embroidery! Love this! One of my aspirations for this year is to start embroidering! I've dabbled but am a novice. I'm going to start with some Twig +Tale patterns and add some embroidery to my clothes. I'd love to hear about the needles you use and how you transfer the motifs to your fabric. Happy New Year!
Hi Judi, like you I have tackled all types of sewing and on the whole enjoy them. Curtains are another story - I dislike making them intensely. However I soldier on and all the windows in our house(large and small) have the curtains I’ve made. Some may need to be replaced soon - not looking forward to that. Happy sewing.🧵🪡🇦🇺
I just out my new drew on Instagram, I made size 4 and think I will size down but I do love the colour block options. Loved watching the Xmas embroidery so looking forward to 365 days 😊
Happy New Year! This vlog popped up on my feed at just the right time. My back has gone out and all I can do is play with my IPad. Embroidery is one of my favorite things to do by hand. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with your project this year.
I loved this video Judi and will be so interested to see how you get on with your embroidery. I must say that since watching you complete your Christmas embroidery, my own interest has been reawakened, to the extent that I’m considering the 365 days of stitches too 😄 !! xx
Happy New Year, Judi, and thank you so much for your wonderful blogs. I have not really sewn for several years and at 68 I really hope it isn't too late for me to get back into it. I find your vlogs such an inspiration
Aww that was lovely to see what you had bought with your coffee money How wonderful ❤ Can’t wait to be kept updated with the embroidery. And the quilt sure it will be beautiful. I definitely need to tackle the bestie bag I have one I bought but would definitely like to make one. And you’ve inspired me to hunt out my southbank pattern I made a long time ago I loved it why haven’t I made another! A very happy new year Judy xxxx
Great vlog Judi! I’ve thought about doing a block a month quilt for years and you have inspired me to actually do it! Happy New Year. You are awesome xx
Hi JUDI I have made 3 of the Drew jumpers all different not the same as the pictures on the pattern and I sized down 2 SIZES as I don't like them too baggy, will show you on Thursday Zoom if you wish to see them. Enjoy xx
Fantastic plan for 2025❤ Judi, do you know about the Alabama Channing School of stitching? I want to try my hand at that this year and I think I’m going to take an online class on embroidery for clothing. I’m just a little older than you 😊 and I remember in the late 60’s early 70’s all the embroidery that was done on jeans and I would like to do a work wear jacket with some of that on it. I’m also intrigued wish Japanese sashiko stitching. I too just love to sew. I’ve done quilting, and I will make small projects but nothing large. My best sister/friend makes exquisite quilts and has a long arm, so I will usually do those quilting projects with her. Happy new year to you and yours! Ps I had to get the Brindle and Twig patterns to make some things for my grandchildren 😂
Thank you for the video. Your bubbly personality is delightful. Reference the Fleur dress... did you omit the bows on the bodice? And are you able to pull it over your head?
Hey, I got the block a week book from my son. Just going to get my fabric! But I wanted to do an embroidery a day too! Is it too much to commit to, I’ll have a think! Thank you x
Oh that’s wonderful. I’ll try but for me to do both through the year I may struggle which is why I’m thinking 2 years for the quilt. I’m going to talk more bout the fabric next time xx
I tried embroidery once but my stitches were a bit hit and miss so I swapped it for cross stitch. However, I would like to give it another try, maybe this could be the year! 💙🧶🌈🍓

Great idea, Judi! You should do a monthly 'Stitch Along' for one of them. Sounds like there are crafty folk interested in both projects. 😉

Just got 365 days of stitching as seen in your channel. What a great idea
Happy New Year
A happy and healthy New Year to you and your family. I hope to see you soon.x
Me too big hugs all round xx
I have plans for first quarter of 2025. Not all sewing but some knitting, quilting and cross stitch. Enjoy

Quietly ambitious plans there Judi! Cozy tops and the Gillet are perfect “first things” for the cold months ahead. Happy New Year 🥳
