@@Sarah_Naomi🎉hi have you ever "a league of their own" With Rosie O'Donnell? There is a seen in the beginning of film where the woman are shown how to sit. 😊if you take both hands and slide out skirt from behind you sit down it with smooth skirt out and keep it from opening. Then sit like the instructor in the seen. Hope this helps.😊
The combination of your camera work, your calm voice, and your natural grace make your videos my favorites. Everything you make is beautifully done. I love that you carefully choose the fabrics and patterns, and share your love of quality over quantity. Normally I have sewing channels playing while I do other things. However, I sit down and watch yours without distractions. Thank you for all your work to produce these beautiful videos.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I can't express how much I appreciate them. I've saved them to look at when I feel disheartened or insecure because I know they'll help encourage me to keep creating. Thank you and I wish you all the best in 2025 ❤️
Well, bummer that you got sick, but you managed to make some really beautiful garments in a pretty short time, which is impressive in itself. Your skills and pattern matching are truly awesome. Such luscious fabrics. The skirt and top you wore for Christmas looks quite dressy to me, so I wonder based on your husband's not finding it fancy enough, how formal do the French get for Christmas? 😂Around here if we show up with our pants right side out it's considered a win. Happy New Year.
The grocery bag was such a thoughtful gift! Glad you got most of your plans completed and hope you feel better soon! Looking forward to more sewing project plans this coming year! All the best🎉🎉
Super makes. Lovely video. So peaceful. Wonderful music from the Nutcracker which I’m lucky enough to be going to see on Friday. Hope you are fully recovered now.
Have the best time at the ballet! I love the Nutcracker and I was so happy to find some royalty-free Nutcracker music to share in this video, I'm glad you enjoyed it too! I am fully recovered, thank you 😊
So sorry you fell sick instead of having a relaxing holiday (that's just the way - when we slow down and things seems to catch up with us!). Your makes were beautiful, such a thoughtful gift for your mother in law. Love those pj bottoms so much! I've been eyeing off Luna for a while.
That's so true! I get sick so much more often on the weekends; it's almost as though my body knows that it's safe to rest and repair 😂 Thank you for your kind comment and I highly recommend trying the Luna PJ pants - I'm wearing them now and I love them! 😊
Your pencil skirt is beautiful. Might try the grocery bag too. For myself! I have a heavyweight cotton that may just be perfect! Hope you’re feeling better ❤
Well done on getting all this made, especially when you were sick during the period. I hope you had an enjoyable festive season apart from the time you were ill. The skirt is so chic and beautifully made. I tend to use a different fabric for the inside waistband piece to avoid that bulk, and find that something smoother and thinner than wool feels nicer as well. I do that with stretch velvet, too, but I'm glad you found it easy enough to work with and comfortable to wear in the Brigit top. The bag is also fantastic. Your mother-in-law is so lucky to get such a good-looking and practical gift. The PJ bottoms are adorable. I love that they are festive but also wearable throughout the chillier months. And they look so great with the jumper/sweater.
Thank you! I did still have a good time during the holidays and I hope that you did too. You're right, a thinner woven fabric would have been a good choice for the inner waistbands to reduce bulk. I hope I remember that for next time! Thank you for the compliments on the PJ pants too - I've been wearing them non-stop and they're so comfortable! My mother-in-law appreciated receiving the bag too, but I'll have to wait and see if she finds it more useful than her regular bags 🤞😊
Hello Sarah, Thank you for another inspirational vlog. Everything which you make is so elegant. I hope that you feel completely well soon, best wishes for 2025.
Congratulations on completing what you made and when you were not feeling well. The skirt is so sharp and I appreciated the tip how to reduce the bulk at the waistband. That bag is a lovely gift and so practical. Thank you for sharing another great video!
I hope you are feeling better and you got plenty of rest and relaxation lying around in the PJs. Beautiful sewing, loved all of them. I am sure your MIL loves her bag! I have been collecting fabrics during my travels, one of them an oilskin from a visit to Merchant & Mills in Rye, UK. Hoping to sew a bag with it.
Thank you, I did get some rest and am feeling much better now! Ohh, I would love to visit Merchant & Mills someday, what a superb bag that fabric would make!
Even not feeling well you got a good bit sewn. Particularly like your Luna pants. Also, your Christmas tree looks so pretty and sparkly. Thank you for all the great videos this year and hope you have a very happy and healthy 2025.
So sorry you were poorly iver the holidays, I hope you're completely restored to health now. Your Xmas outfits are stunning, and the PJ bottoms are adorable. Checked flannel pyjama bottoms are the best thing ever! Cosy, comfortable and stylish 😊 Well done! Happy 2025 🥂
Thank you so much and yes! I'm feeling much better now and I agree, cotton flannel PJs are sooo cozy and nice in the wintertime 😊 Happy 2025 to you too! ✨
Happy New Year, Sarah! Even though you were ill, your sewing was still prolific - bravo! Your pattern + fabric choices were all lovely - everything looked marvelous! 👏
Beautiful Fabrics, beautiful makes, everything looks so accurate and well finished. I wish I could make my own clothes too because due to my body shape it is so difficult to find in the stores what suits me.😢😢
Thank you so much and yes, why not try making your own clothes to fit your body how you want them to? That's the beauty of sewing and once you start, it can become a powerful force of self-expression 😊 You can do it!
@@Sarah_Naomibecause I’m such a muddler/ blunderer 😢😢 I do own a decent sewing machine though, as well as all the tools and the books, and a good stash of nice cotton fabrics too 😊 I actually took some sewing classes in the past but I didn’t get along with the teacher whom I found quite lazy and not interesting at all so, very disappointed and discouraged, I quit. That was 7/8 yrs ago, so now I’m scared of not even being able to start the machine on my own. You’re very very inspirational though and I live my dream vicariously through you😂 Sorry for my English, greetings from Italy.
Thank you for another wonderful video 🙂 I also made a bag for groceries as a gift and your skirt looks great! I don't see any bulky effects but I would pair it with off-white or a similar brown. I loved the nutcracker music! It reminded me of the ballet that I was going to over the holidays. Hope your are feeling better soon! Looking forward to the next video 🙂
Thank you for your kind words and the color pairing advice 😊 I too love Nutcracker music (it's on a loop in my ears while I'm baking for the holidays) and I'm so glad you got to go see the ballet!
Happy New Year to you both, I hope it’s filled with lots of sewing and great memories. The clothes turned out great. The wool blend is a houndstooth patter not a check. The skirt. I think a hessian sack would look fabulous on you. Not that I recommend wearing them 😝
Cutting out fabrics is the boring bit but you managed to make it so entertaining to watch. 😂 The bit where you place the completed pile on the table - so good!!
Wow.. that looks great. I always have issues with skirts and pants because of my different sizes in my hips and waist. 🫣 Can you please show how you grade your pattern so that the skirts fits so perfectly?
Thank you! Grading sizes between waist and hip measurements is a great skill to learn and a french curve ruler is a must! I redraw the curve between the two sizes with that tool and it's fairly simple as long as there aren't pockets or other pattern pieces to grade too. I'll keep your demonstration request in mind for a future video, thank you!
Very lovely sewing. I hope your MIL likes her fab bag. I'm glad you are getting better and have a legitimate excuse for lying around in pj pants. :) Bonne année!
Thank you and yes, she does! I'm feeling much better now and did indeed have a very good excuse to wearing these PJ pants a lot as soon as they were made 😊 Bonne année à vous aussi !
Lovely skirt and pj pants. I wonder if you could add inside snaps farther down hips to help with gaping? I just ordered a vintage pattern Vogue 9209 with similar lines and might try that.
Happy New Year Sarah, hope you will soon be feeling fit and well again. I really like your woollen skirt, it suits you perfectly . I have that pattern but as yet have not made it, I intended to make it in linen and would welcome your advice on this choice of fabric, do you think it would work ?
I am, thank you, and Happy New Year to You too! Yes, I think this skirt would work well and look lovely in a linen fabric - that's a great idea. I might try that myself this Spring/Summer season, thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Anyone else finding the sound of cutting scissors sooooo satisfying??? lol I love these vlog videos!
Totally agree! The sound of scissors cutting is weirdly relaxing 😂 Glad I'm not the only one loving these vlogs!
Me!
So oddly satisfying😍
Haha, yes! I thought I was just under the influence of all the ASMR videos I watch, but I'm glad you find it satisfying too! 😂
