My 2002 Saab 9-3 convertible was not opening from the outside. I had to remove the door panel to find out the door lock actuator failed the handle due to age. Yes. But I think the handle is structurally different.

Thanks for your useful video. I just replaced the doorhandle driver side of my 2003 9-3 OG convertible. In case anyone also ever needs to do this job, do't mix the doorhandle with a 5 drs hatch as the convertible doorhandle is a fraction different/bigger is size.

My 2000 9-3 convertible was not opening from the outside OR the inside. I had to drill out the striker bolts in the B pillar to open the door. Needed new door lock as well as striker plate bolts & nutplate. Big job! See ua-cam.com/video/5hziP-HIkM0/v-deo.html
