Having the direction of the resistance you're pulling against be as horizontal as you can so it translates to actual pulling on the table. You'll work everything in the chain, not just your riser/pronator/whatever. Also, no one is fighting direct vertical pressure in an armwrestling match, so it doesn't make sense to train for it. I think that's what he means. Apologies if I am wrong.
MT, you should do an armwrestling challenge on the street like Schoolboy did some time, since you don't look like a scary armwrestler. Maybe with a sign, "Beat this Bookworm" and win $100. You could wear a black tie and a white button-down shirt. -Rick Rude was ranked top 7 heavyweight in the world in arm wrestling once; he became a pro wrestler later; then he once won $500 in a southern bar as a prank, disguised as a drunk.
1. Do high volume but low weight daily, and once or maybe twice a week go for heavy weight low reps or max lifts. 2. You'll work everything in the chain, not just your riser/pronator/whatever. Also, no one is fighting direct vertical pressure in an armwrestling match, so it doesn't make sense to train for it. 3. Always interesting hearing different opinions, As someone who has been resistance training & arm wrestling for 40+yrs, I have discerning opinions as well.
Devon popularised that movement but people tend to forget that they are not Devon XD. This lift is for a very specific type of Kings move where the wrist is kicked back and it only benefits you if you are already an elite puller in all other angles.
Devon gets a lot of correct armwrestling pressures while training on the table. Him doing one thing wrong off the table does not make a big difference :)
No, it's actually one of the fundamentals, and a very key element of all the aw movements. If you lift 50kg on the riser lift, its 50kg on the riser lift, doesnt matter if youre Devon or not. And the reason they're doing it in a 90° angle is for there's the most tension on the riser, so the most effective
There are quite a few athletes who can keep that 90 degree angle, so it makes a lot of sense for them to work in that angle. Of course if you have a different style or just unbalanced strengths where the side- and backpressures fail earlier then it can be useful to adjust the angle of the riser lift, otherwise not.
3:55 so on this part I would disagree slightly.. you get in that position if your opponent goes for a press/flopp press. his pressure will come DOWN on your arm. like the belt is doing.
the tip n3 is really important. We now saw Mikhail Nifontov quitting aw, after years of gruesome training. Like you said in an older video, better to train in an healthy way, having fun, and progressing slower but safer
For the tip number 2, I’m training really only from home and I don’t have cables or anything like that, I can only do it with strap and weights. What would be the advice for me ? How should I train rising ?
@@tarasaitis_arm Thanks, I understand that you want tension in all of the muscles. It's just the way you have to move on the table with a shorter forearm it seems that 90 degrees is more accurate? appreciate the answer btw.
What about the training routine.. i go heavy every alternate day... Not pr bt 80 to 85 or sometimes 90%, and day after is rest , is it okk, or i can also do low weight max rep training on the rest day?
Hello Mindaugas, I want to ask you about the second tip that you gave in the video about training on posting style toproll. What should I do if I am a posting style toproller and I don't have an acces to a cable. When I fight against long laveraged arm guys I mostly focus on rising because if it fails I am not able to hold and often lose. I often do the seated rising lifts because I cannot work on cable. If you would have some advice I would be gratefull.
Bands are fantastic for rising work. Super cheap to get a solid set online, and there are plenty of high level pullers that only use bands for their top knuckle/rising training
When the GOAT speaks we must be quiet and listen. 😁
John and Engin taking notes 📝
This doesn’t look like Ryan Bowen
That last tip was what we all needed to hear. Thanks Champ!
There's Devon's lift & then there's Minde's truth. #teamMinde
Can you go into more detail for number 2? Maybe even a separate video? I don't quite understand the biomechanics there
ok

Nice to hear about Magnus🙂

100% Devon has always gave tips that usually only work for Devon or long levers

90o angle lif has kept with bicep and brachioradialis, not riser.
Ideal exercise 4 an wrist injury.
You’re right
Tip number 2 dont make sense to me.
🐐
please come to usa sometime Mindy I need to pull with you 🙏
Minda Gasqua level competition? And won.😮
It depends on your Styl e, you are not a posting toproller so of course Will not fit this exercise in you training

maybe try the rising on a multi-angle bench there you could hold it in this angle
get some elastic bands , you can always find an object to tight them and work different angles
spændende at magnus kommer, glæder jeg mig til at følge
Where have been man
For tip number 2, does this apply to short forearms and small hands? considering you have longer forearms for your division
I know what you mean, but it still applies :)
