I really enjoyed this, I hope the algorithm blesses you. My number one tip for easy video improvement would be enhancing the colour levels to make it pop. You've got some beautiful footage, but because you're leaving it stock everything feels kind of flat. I'm presuming you're editing in Premiere but if not just google how to do this for your relevant program. Effects -> Lumetri Color -> Drag on to your video clips -> From there you'll want to head to your clip settings and look for the Lumetri Colour -> Basic Correction options. A good kicking off point would be to increase the temperature and saturation until just before you start looking spray tanned/deep fried. Adjust the shadows and blacks so that areas that represent the darkest parts of your frame look true black rather than a washed out grey. Then mess with the whites and highlights until everything looks bright and clear and crisp. A really good tip for colour balancing in general is to find a white point (eyes, teeth, shirt etc), something that you know is white essentially, and keep referring back to it to make sure it is true white. If it starts to have colours bleed into it then dial back the temp/saturation until you find a healthy balance. At that point (and some people may prefer to do this first) mess with the exposure. You do not want this to look like an emo myspace picture if it washes out a single bit of detail then you've gone too far. BUT you do want it to be bright, to be attention grabbing, so do crank it up at least a bit. By this point it's probably going to be pretty difficult to remember what it looked like normally and most people will start worrying they've made it worse. If you look back on the panel with all your clip settings and effects, right next to where it says 'Lumetri Color' you'll see a little 'FX' symbol. You can toggle that on/off to see what the clip looks like with and without the settings. The best thing you can do is get it wrong a bunch of times, after a while you'll start to just understand how the different parameters interact. And please don't think this is me suggesting the colours in your video look bad, I honestly think this is a great production. I just respect the grind and hopefully this will save you some time on your way.
Wow, great advice! I never even thought to mess with color enhancing. I'm using Lightworks, but it should be capable of everything you mentioned here. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of editing another video and made lots of cuts, so there are so many clips I'd have to drag it onto, but there may be ways around that. @@SomethingAbtScience Honestly it'll add so much production value on, most people think they need to keep buying more expensive cameras but there's hundreds of dollars of extra production value just in editing your colours.
