the townies having lore is actually making me want to play these families and storylines which is really a great improvement on something that was terribly lacking in the sims 4. maybe i'm being too optimistic, but imagine if they updated the other townies to set them up with actual descriptions, sentiments and relationships...
i don't really see them updating the other townies but i think they might give more lore in the future packs

I honestly want a whole update dedicated to adding real lore into the game, but I know that will never happen...
Sometimes I get mad there's too little lore but then again, I enjoy making my own lore and stories!

It's even worse because they combined her with the other Agnes from Sims 2 so this one had 2 husbands die tragically on her.
The Sims team has outdone themselves with this pack! The only thing that I'm mad about is how early they teased it, because I feel like I've been waiting for this pack for my entire life at this point lol

And I want to get with the husband, break them up, then move her (and maybe her teen daughter) to San Myshuno so I can be step-parent to the two younger kids; I've never been a home-wrecker in the game but knowing they don't get along well makes me feel better about the idea.

The Sims "not in world" are like the sages and get replaced if they die or move into the world. They said Agnes and Agatha are basically "immortal" so they will always be, so makes sense they don't have a real household. But, I was just thinking it is so cool the creature keeper has his rabbit hole house, and it would have been neat for the mayor and other not in world rotating Sims to also have houses like that.

that's actually kinda supported by lore! the goth family has had ties to magic throughout the various games, but the crumplebottoms also do - in ts3 at least, there's a family of 3 crumplebottom sisters who are witches!
I agree it would be good considering they often have house that basically just set design. Which would be good in terms of gameplay if they expanded that, where if your sim goes to the rabbit hole house they could go, 'have a catch up/tea/coffee' disappear for a an hour and either get a negative or a positive relationship with them or sentiments on if it went badly or not.
I wonder what will happen if you move the Crumplebottoms into your household, we know they don't die but what happens if they just up and quit

Personally, I can not see how Agnus could have been involved with her husband's death if she hates it when others flirt with her. The way I see it is that he was the man of her dreams and no one could replace him in her heart, and she still carries the bitterness of his death to this day. She probably she's flirting with others sims as a betrayel to their love.

It's actually really weird because there are two identical women named Agnes CrumpleBottom, they're distant relatives and the later was in the Sims 2 because the Agnes from Sims 3 and Sims 1 was deceased from old age. Sims 3 Agnes' husband was Erik but the one in Sims 2 was assumed to be married to Robert based off some clues. But for some reason Sims 4 has instead combined both women in one Agnes so she got both the dead husbands but she's still mostly the original because she's still related to the Goth family.

They are finally listening to us and making actual stories that make sense and match the sims when you play them unlike all the other sim households they created in previous packs.

I love that Michael bell has his regular clothes in a more festive color for his party outfit, and for his winter clothes he just adds a hat. He is a simple man
i'm actually really excited for this pack! i'm buying it asap when it releases. i'm so happy that the sims team actually gave us lore and took the time to give likes/dislikes, sentiments and mess with the relationships so it makes sense. it's not just them saying "person A hates person B" but they're friends
Looking at the relationship panel it looks like they've done a decent job setting the lore, like the married couple being friends but having a slightly negative romance bar which could make it easier to split them.
I’m glad that someone goes over the townies. My favorite things to learn about a new pack are always how many lots there are and what the townies are like mainly so I can plan how my current household will interact with them

It only took 6 years and 10 expansion packs to give us lore... wish they'd fix the other "lore"they put in game
This pack hasn’t even come out yet and it’s already my favorite. If every pack in the future is like this I will be playing the sims forever. Lol.
If you were to play as any of the villagers, would you be able to continue their careers? Like the pub owners, would they own the pub and work there like normal? If yes would it work with/without Get to Work? What about the villagers who run stalls, like Kim and Agnes (if you can even play the Crumplebottoms)? Or the mayor and her son? If you play as them do they lose their role in the village??
Yes, they get substituted. The only “eternal” ones are Agnes and Agatha

12:03 as weird as it is, I'm pretty sure the knitting skill is now basegame- just can only access it with the pack. In Discover University, yarn-bombing the statue gives you knitting skill + you can go to a knitting class :P
They've already made this kind of lore with sentiments etc. in the snowy escape expansion🙉 I really hoped that they will continue with this and they did😍

Cecilia has a converted barn, and it's part of the lore of the town!!! Watch Clare Siobhan's video, she built it and the devs liked the barn conversion idea so much they added it to the game!!!

Michael Bell having the knitting skill makes sense as he would knit the animal clothing. Which could lead you to think that you may also be able to knit them if you have luv 2 knit.

I love the lore they gave the townies the sims 4 was desperately needing this. Haven't been excited about a pack in so long but this all looks great for the game I might actually get it
My sim was on a date with her husband at the bar, and when the two of us kissed, suddenly Agnes appears out of NOWHERE and starts to beat the living crap out of my sim with her purse. To give a better picture of the situation: my sim was hours away from giving birth. WHY AGNES WHY?
When I first moved my 2 lovebirds in here, the guy proposed to my girlfriend sim and we had our reception at our farm. At our reception party, Kim Goldbloom was flirting and kissed my sims husband. I didn’t know Kim was this “happy go lucky, town protective, club leader” type. It makes sense though, she’s DEFINITELY the “I’m so sweet and I’ve seen everything in this town, so I can do whatever I want” and a back stabs other girls.
I feel kind of bad for throwing a drink in her face, starting a fits fight and making her my sworn enemy of the town now.😂

I think if they die the role gets filled by a random game-generated Sim with appropriate skills/traits...or if a player deletes the Sim same thing.
Someone mentioned something about some of them not being scripted to die or something? Idk what’s that about so it could be wrong. But yes, if that happens they’ll just be filled in with a randomly generated one.

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be best friends with a sim quite as much as the mayors son. Like I relate to wanting to leave the town and you could tease him about his crush but also he hates comedy so I would absolutely spend days telling horrible dad jokes to annoy him it would be so wholesome

When I first saw the Sim Ian I instantly thought of Ian McKellen, I can see similarities in their faces so I think it's definitely on purpose

All characters related to the town (mayor, pub owner, delivery man, etc) except Agnes and Agatha get substituted when they die and/or when you play in their household or get them into your :)

I’d love for the sims team to go back to all the townies (especially basegame) and update them to what their descriptions say! Like lore please! Also make landgraabs actually related to Johnny zest !! I have to remake them every save just to make them actually related. I’d just love for lore to be consistent throughout all the townies, they can be so stale!
I've never understood why Johnny doesn't have any sort of relationship with the Landgraab's except in his flavor text

Agnes being a recurring sim made me, someone whos only recently getting back into the sims, realize that the sims might have lore. I went to see if i could find some lore. Boy did i find lore

Ever since the early access came out I made it my mission to date the creature keeper guy because I already love him so much and now I have to go against lore to get him I LOVE THIS
I am going to play with this pack with almost every family
I've got two families that I'm working on for this pack; one is a family loosely based on a friend of mine who moved here from England several decades ago (he's now 87), so he has a wife and 3 kids but he's a gardener in my game. Second couple is a pair of lesbian girlfriends; they both left their husbands (who I still have in the game) and moved in together with their toddler kids. Thinking about putting that family on hold for the next couple of weeks though because the toddlers are about to age up and I want to wait till I actually can move them to HoB.
i just realized Agnes Crumplebottom was bestfriends with my sim back in The Sims 3, i would go to her house almost every weekend
