As we all know time changes many things. It’s been 2 years since my first taste of unobtanium. For my 30th birthday the Rolex gods blessed me with one of the most in demand steel sports watches in their catalog. I was over the moon, happy as a clam. I finally got my Pepsi. Now two years later. Many trips taken, and many hours on the wrist, how do I feel about it today? At one point I declared this watch Rolex’s best modern steel sports watch. I raved about it in many reviews, recommended it to many others. Has anything changed? Is it time to sell?

@@ChristopherNegroni trust me, I get it! I have an 114060, a Breitling Pistachio chrono, and an op 36. The modern Pepsi happens to be the perfect finisher? but I’m priced out currently. To me, it’s one of the few pieces that checks every single box.

Love the cap Negroni! I wear my Pepsi with everything! It takes confidence to wear the red and blue. I’ve worn it with jeans, shorts, suits, chinos, you name it. Who cares about “matching.” I was fortunate to get my BLRO in June 2018. MK1. Wearing it now actually. Never sell. Enjoyed your review!

I got mine in 2018, a Mk 1, also. I was on the fence aout keeping it. Probably best to keep it.

The title is to get clicks and comments. Disappointing to see that kind of clickbait, when the video is an absolutely fantastic, heartfelt, retrospective piece.
The way it's talked about in the video, you can tell the watch truly does mean a lot to him. He's built stories, memories, and attachments to it. You can feel it. This man is not going to sell one of the most iconic, most sought after, timeless Rolex, that was purchased (first hand) for his 30th birthday.
Aside from the title, great video. Keep them coming.

Rolex had better solve the ceramic Pepsi bezel insert's cracking problem. That's a pretty serious defect, and not the good kind (like patina, fading, etc.).
It’s pretty rare. I wouldn’t call it a defect. Couple photos circulate online and now all of a sudden everyone is saying the bezels are fragile 😅
Also i think the dressier jubilee goes well with the tattoos. I have a jubilee bracelet on order for mine but I think I’ll keep it minty and let the oyster take the scratches.

To me the Pepsi is the true modern holy grail Rolex today. Have Daytonas but could never have the call for a Pepsi for now. Thinking about grey market as Chrono24 let you send back the watch if something is not ok

I got the call for my Pepsi oct ‘23 and it’s on an oyster. It’s so comfortable as a man with smaller wrists. I got it by waiting my turn and buying other things too and kind of justified the game by telling myself I’d flip it at the end. But I can’t part with mine now man. I’ll sell the other watches before I sell this one.
That’s the funny thing right? You justify these extravagant purchases but you can’t sell the piece because it’s so goood! 😅

After almost 2 years on a waitinglist and me being afraid that the pepsi would be discountinued i bought a pepsi from a grey dealer in november -23.
Had to sell my 114060 to be able to buy the BLRO but i dont regret it at all.

I don’t think anybody will want this hat 😅 it’s well worn. And good idea, very thoughtful but I want to engrave something clever, some kind of saying. We’ll see, I may end up going simple and doing my initials

It’s true, at one point they were all grail watches. We lose sight of that in the hobby sometimes. No batman for me!
One small disagreement. The “Date” is the most used and useful complication. THEN the GMT/second time zone.
Semantics. You know what I mean. A date comes on a sub, and a gmt. The gmt model line has it all.

I'm the guy who feels a little panicked about discontinuation of the Pepsi this year... So I made my first purchase from the gray market this past Friday just days before we find out if it's discontinued this year. Feels like gambling, but now I'm even more excited to see what happens tomorrow. Either way I'll be happy and probably won't sell for the time being at least.
U bought on the peak price I’m afraid. I got mine already one year also from grey market and I don’t think it will be dc.
@@Watch_ur_kicks no, the peak price on Pepsis was back in early 2022 when everything else peaked. They were in the 30s at that point. Currently you're looking at around 23k for brand new. In any case, I'm happy to have one. A few (or several) thousand dollars here or there isn't going to change that.
If it’s a watch you’ll love and wear for many years, it doesn’t matter if you bought at the peak. What’s important if that you bought the watch you wanted.

Yup! That’s why it’s a unique number of seconds, plus it’s calculated from the time of birth on my birth certificate.
Sell: a smaller vintage watch would be an elegant juxtaposition. A 36mm. S Universal Polar Route I would suggest…
As much as I love the polerouter. It wouldn’t be a great replacement to a Pepsi. Maybe an addition to the collection

I’ll never sell my Pepsi! Wearing it now. It goes with anything, just depends on your comfort level with the colors. Mine came on the oyster bracelet but I also have the jubilee from my BLNR to put on it. So much fun to move between the two bracelets. It will always be a special watch. Never sell.

Strange how you have come up on my stream maybe it’s a sign . After around 12 years balls deep in the hobby baled out around a year ago and have had zero interest since then . Don’t think I’ve worn a watch since October . Have seven rolex in the bank that couldn’t give a shit about and will be soled on at some point. When you leave a hobby and the obsession leaves there is no interest whatsoever. When I do get round to selling it will be good to bring in some cash .. may in fact look into ditching the Pepsi …

Pepsi colors are perfection right now 👌🏼 also I disagree that prices will plummet because a color change. People look for mk1 bezels because of that more pink bezel. Wrong color doesn’t mean it won’t be desirable therefore collectible in Rolex world
