Nice short vid! Very informative. So what's the real deal with these S55 crank hubs? I have a stock M2 comp, so I'm curious. I've heard everything from its a waste to its a must, and now I see this vid... You got me thinking about it again! At what point is this necessary?
People have spun stock crank hubs people also spun just stage 1 and up it really just up to the owner if they wanna take the risk. I wasn’t going to do mine til my buddy spun him just cruising home not doing literally anything.
Just did the full N20 timing job (chain/guides and oil pump assembly). I wonder if they changed out the sprockets to have the same laser etchings to give it more grip.
interesting so theres a jig or assisted drilling tool you bolt to the crank to help drill the pin holes thats so much easier than i imagined. Is it the same for n54? id feel so much safer drilling myself with that tool i thought it was free handed and based all upon how straight you can manually drill which i didnt trust.
@@ThicWhips okay i was bouta say😂 makes 2-4k labor charge worth it but nvm just more expensive preventative maintenance that bmw shoulda done themselves 😂 love vids btw man keep it up
Picking up my M2C tomorrow from getting the crank hub done! Also did the CDV delete so super excited to see how it’ll feel when shifting now.
i’m enjoying these videos of you working on different bmws

Super extensive and super expensive job, nice work sir👌🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼 ( legend has it, lower the mileage the more bits you go through 😅 )
Thanks 👍
JEEZ what a job. This is the first time I had actually watched one all the way through. How many total hours of labor?
10-14 hours of labor
great to see a REAL M2 on the channel.
oh how i wish my f30 328 was a e92 m3 with apex vs5rs on it 😅
jon are you a tech at CES now?
I wear many hats here, learning more tech is definitely one of them!

This sucks to hear 😓
@@ThicWhips its kind of annoying since i really enjoy your content but I never get it recommended.

Yessir! The guide ensures you’re going in straight. It comes with every crank hub, as well as the drill bit
never knew 2 pin added 80whp n 4 pin added 120whp, good to know
It was just a joke lol

Use safety glasses man. Metal shavings in the eye is not fun
