Too bad they're way heavier than the stock brake system. Need to find a BBK setup where it's at most the same weight. Lighter would be better. CCB option too expensive at 8k.

We need a (blue) caliper rebuild diy. No information online on torque specs on the caliper pinch bolts, bridge seals, and etc…

This is on my to do list in the next year for my rears. I second the vote for brake rebuild diy. Know a few other people also needing to do it. Already researched how but a video by my good people at FCP Euro is always helpful for the detail oriented and a trustful reference.

As a bmw enthusiast, this is becoming one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. I love all the detailed informations they provide and not glancing over some details. Remarkable!
It would be cool if you guys did some episodes about some cs/gts specific parts, and how can we upgrade them on our regular m cars. One cool example is a M2 CS Racing specific front sway bar, which is direct bolton on a regular M2 car. And it’s even cheaper than all of the aftermarket solutions. Greetings from Germany

Man thank you for doing this! I just got my 034 Motorsport two-piece front rotors, stainless steel brake lines and hawk performance pads and my shop is going to put the RBF 600 fluid. You explained everything such in a great way and I'm not even a wrench 😅. Might track the soon!

All f8x M cars should’ve come with the 2nh brake kit (6pot front 4 pot rear) from factory. The tiny blue calipers from factory look so small and wrong.

  • @m3clubracer

Real good info. PFC will be making a steel conversion for the 400/380mm soon. CCB rotors can be tracked well but need to be kept cool and it will take ducting to make them last and the pads will need to be replaced with Pagid RSC1 and are ~600 each end. The OE Textars will blister and disintegrate. I wish Ate still made the blue fluid and I know why. 😕

My F15 X5 35iX has the standard 332mm 1 piece plain front rotor but there's an available coated crossed drilled Zimmermann rotor and also Powerstop Z23 carbon ceramic brake pad which both appears attractive as a minor performance upgrade.

I don’t believe any F87 M2 competitions that came with anything but the 400mm rotors in the USA. Only the OG M2 had the blue brakes.

Correct, the 4 pot brakes weren’t an option on the M2C/CS in North America, the 6 pistons were standard.

    • @alexnugent
      @alexnugent 4 місяці тому +1

If it's for track work you'd be better off going to something like an AP Racing 5000R caliper as this allows for better wheel size options (18"s) and they're easier to swap pads on than the BMW/Brembo 6 pots as you don't have to remove the caliper.

so blue calipers is avalible in 4 colors and 2 dimentions. for 380mm disks and 345mm discks. 6 piston caliper is avalibel in silver gold and red color. 1 size. for steel and CCB rotor. problem of 6 piston sistem is in case of steel weight and in case od CCB duration.

Issue I have with the stock rotors and Ferrodo DS2500 pads is that they work perfectly on the Nürburgring but is very bad for first bite/cold on road use, the OEM pads is kinda good when cold but doesn't hold up on a track. Is there a way to increase the brake pressure on the pads by programming? I use wider than stock tires and the brakes is now the weal point.

I had so god damn many issues with the brake on this car...did stoptech trophy kit/ABS flush and everything you can think of, the pedal feel was still shit. I heard the brake booster that came with F80/82 CCB cars would provide a better pedal feel?

Front & rear & look fantastic…. I’ve had a kit designed for this to happen, anyone interested they drop me a message.
    I put the larger 400/380mm on my M4CS & M4 comp cab, 6/4 piston looks fantastic 👌

The rotors fit just fine I'm running them on a 340 with F80 calipers u just need the rotor screw from the f80. You will need caliper adapters or eccentric caliper bushings to allow the F80 calipers to fit on the F30 knuckle if your going to use 380mm rotors.

CHANGE YOUR BRAKE FLUID!! On vehicles where I’ve regularly changed brake fluid, I’ve never had a line/caliper/MC go bad!
Type 200 fluid is fine on my s2000 track car, if you’re not a pro w2w racer and think you need rbf600/etc you have another problem those expensive fluids are bandaids.

Don’t use heat on the flare nut on the brake line terrible advice. All you have to do is pry out the mount clip/ holder ( cheap to replace). This means you can unwind the hose from the pipe so the flare nut does not need to rotate.
