I think that hourglass should come out with fully customizable palettes, where you pick all of your favourite shades. I feel like these are only worth it if you will use each shade consistently, and it seems like there is always at least one shade that people don't use very much
yeah, watching this video i just think that even i would like to taste the palette i don't really need it because the combination don't fulfill my expectations
I totally agree! At least sell refill pans or something and let us choose because out of all three I don’t think there’s one where I would get use out of every shade

I wish that hourglass would do blush tones for lighter skin that aren’t pink. We want the oranges too! Just not as deep! I also wish the blushes were more varied in each palette. A pink and an orange or peach. Not two pinks that are so similar. That keeps me from buying.
The light palette is more coral/berry for the blushes there not so pink I wouldn’t say I have all three and def more corAl berry

I completely agree. I'm a fair olive, and I can't wear pink. For context, most normal bronzers pull way too pink on me and I use them as blush (I use a green tinted antique bronze eyeshadow as a bronzer!). I love orange blushes, but the tiger palette is way too deep. Easy pass on all three this year

I ordered the butterfly palette and i completely understand all the complaints people have (old shades, no bronzer, dark blush etc..)
but i think these "flaws" make the palette perfect for someone like me! ive never owned any of the hourglass products and always wanted to try the finishing powders, i almost never use bronzer and absolutely LOVE deeper blush shades despite being quite pale
(if ur into colour seasons i think this palette would be great for a dark winter/autumn)
i've wanted to order one of their holiday palettes for years but could always pick out a shade or 2 i wouldn't be able to use which just didn't make them worth it to me, until now!

I am dark winter and this palette calls my name. Aren't blushes very warm though? It's hard to tell.
@@kseniiat766 yeah the blushes looked less warm on their website but if its close to a true red/ more neutral undertone i think we should be able to get away with it! fingers crossed anyways

Same! I've never had an hourglass palette and I'm really hoping I enjoy it. I'm kind of in-between light and medium skin tone though, makes it tricky. I'm a little worried I won't be fair enough, more olivey. I have some stand alone blushes that I like, and these seem similar, but hey, still fun to try and even mix them.
I just wish one of the blushes was orange-y!
I feel like nobody is actually saying the obvious thing about this release: Hourglass FINALLY is listening to their customers and coming out with products that will work on deeper complexions
It's funny because people were hating on hourglass every chance they could. Now that hourglass has become more inclusive, none of those people are mentioning it... How funny.... It's almost like all they wanted to do was whinge.
@@niamh3610 I actually understand if those with deeper skin tones decide not to buy the palette. Why purchase from a brand that is known to have a great shade range in foundations & concealers but won’t create deep shades in there best selling powders and blushes. People will eventually get fed up with a brand
I’m medium-tan (not close to deep) and that palette for “deep” skin is the one that might work but the colors are weird and decided to never buy hourglass again since every time they say something is for tan skin or deeper is just for medium skin or light skin that uses fake tan and they have freaking glitter on every formula, I don’t want to be Edward Cullen on real life.
They need to release a singles unlocked range and add depth to the core line as well - hopefully if this is successful they expand upon it. I am skipping it this time personally as I find the shades for pale skin a little odd but at least I have many options already.

As a very fair skinned person who owns no hourglass products and loves intense blush that butterfly palette seems like it was made for me and I'm so excited to get it
Same! It allows me to test the regular powders in their line that I could realistically use to see if I like them, and I'm even glad it doesn't have a bronzer, because most bronzers don't work for me anyway (they show up yellow or orange), and I prefer to stick to my hoola with a light hand (the old one, since the one for fair skin, which is supposed to work for me, makes me yellow).

Get on mercari and buy last years off of someone for cheap lol that way you’ll have the bronzer too. It’s awesome to just throw in your purse and for travel. You’re going to love it
I’m super pale and totally disappointed by the lightest palette. The medium palette’s blushes are gorgeous and I wish the other powders in the palette could work for me. I’m weirdly tempted to buy the elephant palette and see if I can use the non-blushes as eyeshadows! Thanks for a spectacular, thorough review! You’re the best, Morgan.
To me the concept of the butterfly palette is that very fair skin does not tan, it burns, so traditional brownish bronzers are actually not very natural to fair skin. So I see this palette as burnt fair skin palette, I turn as red as those blushes when I'm under the sun😆

I think I'm in the minority saying I think these palettes are bull. 😂 The blushes in the lightest two palettes look the same to me. Pink! I love the one from 3 years ago where we got a peach blush, a rose blush, a bronzer, a finishing powder and a highlight! I want the tiger palette for my med to tan complexion but 3 strobe powders??? C'mon, why? I think they are trying to get us to buy more than one palette to get everything we want, hence why I think they are bull. Lol Just my opinion

Every year I lust over these, but I never buy them. I did buy the quad a couple years ago and it works great. But these palettes are so lovely and the packaging is so cool. I love the bright blushes and in the butterfly palette you get all the finishing powders. I want all 3! The butterfly for winter, the elephant for spring and fall and tiger for the summer. You talked me into all 3.

Esthetics of the packaging aside, I'm happy with the color choice of the butterfly palette. I skipped their face palette for the last 3-4 years because it was too dark for me, and I got the single shades from their permanent line, but they're quite expensive, and I will never go through a full-size ambient lighting powder :D
This one has two powders that I always wanted to try, ethereal and incandescent light. I was actually ready to pick the ethereal edit palette since here, in Italy, it's still available. Sadly I have diffused in full size, but at least it has no bronzer (I never go for a bronzed look anyway) and has some nice blushes, not the usual pale pink and peach blushes brands always choose for fair-skin people. If you're light or very light and never tried Hourglass, it's a great chance. Their powders give the skin a very beautiful glow that no other powder gives. It's not harsh or Instagram-like but very elegant.
I think Butterfly makes you look fresh and youthful. Great review as usual Morgan 😍

Your look with the butterfly palette looks beautiful! Like, Snow White kind of beauty! I do have several their holiday palettes so maybe lack of bronzer wouldn't bother me...but...it's kind of hard choice to make more than I thought it would be.
Seeing the swatches, the butterfly is the only one that will work for my pale skin tone. Sad the blushes are pretty similar. Makes the palette a maybe buy.
I am going for it, but I think I'm one of the few who goes for mainly the finishing powders haha.
I have been wanting the Eghereal Light setting powder to be available in one of these holiday palettes! I am SO excited to finally try it out! The blushes do look very deep and bright.

Wow, thank you for your review & for saving my money! I own two Hourglass palettes and they are stunning. But I am fair and quite cool toned ... Ghost palette is still my NO 1 and out of the three New ones none stands out.
I ordered the tiger palette on Friday but customized the packaging because I love elephants. I also ordered the new foundation and the volume III ambient lighting palette as it's been on my wishlist for a long time. I got notification today that my package has shipped. I'm so excited to try these on my beautiful medium deep skin tone😊😁

Boy I have wanted one of these holiday palettes for years. I really want the butterfly one since I'm pale af. I do prefer the other packaging so it's cool you can pick.
Hi Morgan, I think the Butterfly is more suited for Middle East (Arab) complexions..we (normally) do not need bronzers (I personally do not) besides each one of us has bronzers in her makeup collection that could be topped with one of the (editing powders in this pallete).I find the bold blushes are just perfect and universally flattering.
The Butterfly Palete is very convenient for all complexions, hence the blushes are pigmented enough to suit all, the finishing powders are all stacked here and they are multi-taskers..plus no more bronzers please, thank you. This will last a life time, very economic and sufficient to stop chasing Hourglass for their editing powders.
I’m middle eastern and I definitely wear bronzer. It contours.

I'm glad Hourglass is expanding these holiday palettes to work for a bigger variety of skin tones. That said, none of them really speak to me so I think I will be passing on these for the second year in a row. So glad that I bought and am still loving my 2019 and 2020 palettes.

I'm so excited I just picked up my first hourglass palette! I see the butterfly has been released again so I grabbed it right away. I'm hoping the other two will be re released too cause I love the other two as well.
I have a fair/light complexion and I am in love with butterfly palette. I don’t use bronzers as often, and also I like the redish dark blushes on my light cool toned skin. The only thing that I own from the Hourglass is the last year light palette and I think that is rather similar to the elephant palette, so for me the butterfly palette is perfect, I will grab it 👌🏻

I am a light skin but also do not enjoy the light palette not because of the repeated shades but because I need 1 setting powder 1 finishing powder 1 blush 1 highlighter and 1 contour, last year palette was so shiny and this year is just not what I needed 🥺

I agree about the lessened value of the butterfly palette. It is missing a bronzer for sure. I have no idea why hourglass would decide to take out the bronzer in that particular one. Great review on these palettes. I’m a medium skin person, I like both the Elephant and Tiger palette. I like that the Elephant palette has that bronzer in it, and neutral finishing powders. But, 2 pink blushes, ehhh. The Tiger one, I think I can make it work, can also be used on the eyes. Since I live in the Miami area, endless summer, area, I’m leaning towards the Tiger palette. Plus, my body is endlessly tan, even with high spf daily. Lol.

I bought the medium palette but customized it with the tiger packaging. The palette is beautiful! I wore it today and am very intrigued with the warmer palette. I would love to swatch them to see how it would look on my complexion.
Your video is so helpful. Glad decided to wait to purchase until it comes to Sephora. Im semi-new to hourglass and nly have last years holiday palette and few single blushes so I was going to get the lightest palette....even though i like the elephant packaging more. BUT after seeing your video, Im deciding to go with the elephant one. The butterfly palette blushes seem too punchy for a light palette when the elephant blushes seem more subtle and different... in a good way. Thanks for reviewing all 3! I’ve been waiting for the reviews soooo badly!!! I love hourglass. Apart from lip products, I use exclusively use drugstore! i ended up ordering the deepest tone even though i have a fair skin but the rosey to my skin sometimes looks warm. i cant do pinky or red blushes and i love the oranges i will use a light hand and it will be a perfect summer pallet it will work on some light skins hope the bronzer works on my skin

I got the butterfly and tiger palettes, I am fair and for the face the butterfly is perfect for me and in the tiger I wanted it as a bronzer shade and eyeshadow palette and it is perfect!!!

I love the color story of the Elephant palette and then the packaging of the 🦋!!!!! Wish I could get this but just can't justify the price right now ugh but I'm dying!! Edited to say the gold behind the 🦋 palette does look kind of weird and off so yes Elephant it is!

I ordered the Butterfly pallette since I am very fair..but I'm with Morgan, the other pallettes really caught my eye. I will say I'm excited to play with this palette, I do wish the blushes were a little lighter, less dark..they are beautiful blushes! Just a little intimidating for fair tones lol.
That being said, I think many darker tones could use both the Tiger and Elephant pallettes..They're so beautiful. I love Hourglass formula so I will play and be happy regardless. These Ambient Light pallettes were the one thing I have been excited about besides some of the upcoming Chantecaille Holiday releases

I’m light and definitely want the elephant palette. I have last years and I think that one was more well rounded.
think very varied. think the butterfly pallet are catering to the eastern/ oriental make up trends or the "clean girl" looks. elephant is suitable for skin tones on the light to medium spectrum (my fave) and the tiger one is beautifully inclusive for medium to dark maybe even deep tones. beautiful all three.

Yes 🙌 I totally agree that the blush quads are the best approach as you tend to get a more curated colour story without wasted finishing powders for the $$$. Plus last blush quad they all came from different colour families.
Agree! I would love to try all the new blushes. But, I am not going to buy 3 palettes for that experience. I have and love the ghost quad.
I still regret not getting the ghost palette, which would have been perfect for my skin tone.
I'm probably not getting any of the three since it's 95€ in Europe and that's just too much, especially these days.
