Brian Stann, I was actually a medic for that tank company, thank you for pulling our driver out, ill most likely never be able to tell you thank you in person so I can only hope you can know how thankful we all were for that.

1:41:45 was a powerful moment. Brought silence into a room of warriors. You guys make me very proud to be an American. And motivate me to give it my all in the gym, to take advantage of the peace and freedom that you have provided.
The Jocko Podcast is such a stark contrast to so much of the horse crap that is out there. It is inspiring, motivating, enlightening, entertaining and much more. I am filled with a sense of real hope and pride when I listen to people like Jocko and Brian. I am finally (after months) completely caught up on these podcasts, this was one of my favorites. Thanks.
I take my hat off to Brian Stann, and his Marines 3rd Battalion thanks for ur service and for your sacrifice! Thanks Jocko for having outstanding Americans on ur podcast .
I am greatful for this podcast and you guys as men, as a former Corpsman of Marines with two tours to Iraq, it was an absolute honor to serve with these young men, you guys do such a great job describing them around the 1:26 mark. Thank you.
I'm in education and I'll be honest in that I get most of my leadership ideas from the military and not educational leadership books. The big reason - the lessons learned in the military determine life and death. They know what they're talking about.
My brother in law was in the 3/25 weapons co. he survived but their reserve unit lost 48 KIA. The memorial service was so big that they held it at the IX Center in Cleveland OH. Words just can't describe something like that. I deployed next as well as my cousin's husband and 2 years later my other cousin deployed. War is hell
A big thanks to each of you and your service and for all those who have given their all and those who continue to serve. Also thank you for the inspiration to do better each day.
This is an insanely good episode. Love to hear Jocko and Brian, who are leaders at the highest level discuss their perspectives on leadership, building a team and how it translates to a corporate setting. It's almost like I'm listening to two brothers who are in-sync throughout this conversation.
At 121:20, I didn't even realize it right away but I love how he's just sitting there with a Rambo knife talking about events during his time in combat. Like a boss!
Very humbling to listen to. The common thread among the incredible individuals Jocko brings on is the U.S. military which attracts and produces some of the most incredible leaders and people on this planet.
Great interview! Mr. Stann, thank you for mentioning the portraits you saw in Quantico. I travel with that exhibit (Eyes of Freedom) along with a Lima 3/25 Marine named Mike Strahle who was on the vehicle that exploded on May 11th, 2005. I have sent him this podcast. I know he will greatly appreciate this.
My mother died suddenly at 56 and what Brian said around 60:00 about regular people handling losses similarly to people in the military in the sense that it makes you realize squandered time and pushes you to aspire for greater things resonates strongly. I vow to never lose this feeling and strengthen my ambition every day. Good.
I’ve been on a dead mans profile for the last 2 months (I’m army infantry) I went from running my 2 mile in 13:30 to not having the motivation to do 1 mile I listened to this starting doing 100 pushups 100 sit-ups and 250 flutter kicks then went and ran a mile finished in 8:02 it’s literally my worst mile time since highschool but I got it done I know it’s not good but I’ve been in a rut since I got that profile never even went to sick call before that and I think I found what’s gonna get me out of it. Thanks Jocko.
Just caught this podcast tonight. I was one of the 5-6 Marines from Lima 3/25 that Gabe introduced to Brian Stann in their room at Al Qaim before Op Matador. I had to play back the Matador section of the pods st a few times. I remember hearing the massive firefights south of the river and thinking: Jesus that’s a lot of machine gun fire, and I was about 100 yards North of 1st plt’s track when it hit the IED. I was attached to 3rd Plt at the time and we had North and East security during the Evac. watched the whole thing from a rooftop and couldn’t do a damn thing to help.
I really love watching this podcast with guests on. I can only get to so many with Jocko and Echo alone, but anytime I see another person I smash that button as fast as I can.
So much respect for Brian Stann wow! Such a great story a true warrior and a man of great integrity. Tempo tempo tempo that’s what life is about! Keep going keep learning keep getting better! Maintain tempo
These are the best shows when Jocko has guests. It doesn't seem like Jocko would be good with guests but he's great! More guests and less reading from books. Engage the audience!
My favorite of Jocko's podcasts are the ones with guests, but his book reviews are one of a kind. How often do you get a Navy SEAL operator's take on a book? Plus all of his personal experiences that relate to the books he reads. Easily my favorite podcast.
That's a really good question. How about Rommel? I don't believe i have heard either talk in great detail about him. I know he was obviously a nazi but it seems even current soldiers hold him in pretty high regard for his tactics.
growing up as a child of divorce (4x)I can identify with Brian's comment about a lifelong quest to impress (no homo) older male figures in my life.I am in my 60's now and finally understand.
Got chills hearing Brian talk about Col Shusko and Master Guns Franklin. Shusko was the XO of TBS when I went through before he took over MCMAP. Master Guns Franklin's son came through Parris Island when I was stationed there, that kid fought Pupil Sticks on a whole different level, badass recruit cut from the same cloth as his old man. Was Brian on LH as part of the LandNav cheating scandal or something else? (Might have to read his book now!)
Brian Stann, I was actually a medic for that tank company, thank you for pulling our driver out, ill most likely never be able to tell you thank you in person so I can only hope you can know how thankful we all were for that.
Why are you lying about that
MrShapoopee24 why assume he’s lying?

I would honestly vote Stann for president any day of the week
Me too! I really like this man :)
Brian Stann / Tim Kennedy 2020.
I'm down with that !
Incredible men and Americans.
Chael Sonnen Said that he did.
"Live a life of substance, not just existence." Brian Stann
Can you explain in it to a little bit further ? Tried to translate it but it’s just bananas... thx in advance !
I think I got it never mind !
@@PosyLubelak I was about to say, it’s pretty self explanatory!

I was just looking for someone to comment on this. I just hit it and was caught off guard at how intense that was.
Centurion
18:29 As well, Centurion.
I almost felt like Jocko was talking to Brian at that moment even though he was reflecting on a story about talking to Laif
War is hell. Thank you for your sacrifice, brothers.

Another gem of a podcast...this stuff is absolute pure gold.
Caesar - Leader of the Apes same here, just keep coming back to this podcast

Two of the manliest men on earth meeting at a table
Awesome podcast

THANK YOU ALL MILITARY MEMBERS PAST AND PRESENT FOR YOUR SERVICE!
I am greatful for this podcast and you guys as men, as a former Corpsman of Marines with two tours to Iraq, it was an absolute honor to serve with these young men, you guys do such a great job describing them around the 1:26 mark. Thank you.
I can listen to Jocko reading all day.
KG Heath he should totally do audio books
I'm in education and I'll be honest in that I get most of my leadership ideas from the military and not educational leadership books. The big reason - the lessons learned in the military determine life and death. They know what they're talking about.
Loved this episode, Stann is such a decent human being. Love and respect from Ireland. 👊
Stann is a heck of a stand up guy for what he does to give back to Veterans. Nothing but respect for him. Awesome episode!

If I was a Hollywood director, there would be ample material for war movies right here. I'd hire Stann and Jocko.

All three of these guys deserve max props... They are the elite of the elite! Found Jocko through JRE I’m hooked.
This is one of Jockos best podcast episodes
Heard about Jocko From Rogans Podcast. Jocko is the shit cant stop listening to the podcast. Thanks for Video!
Very humbling to listen to. The common thread among the incredible individuals Jocko brings on is the U.S. military which attracts and produces some of the most incredible leaders and people on this planet.
I come back to watch this and it really gets me out of my dark places thank you !
always been a fan of stann watching him fight but now I know he was a total badass on the battlefield much respect Brian Stann!

These guys are just amazing story tellers! Painting a movie scene over and over! Amazing !
Was and still am a big fan of Brian Stann! Honest, true to himself, and just an overall good guy.

This podcast is like a fountain which spews the true stories of heroism & excellence of the world’s greatest warrior..
“ The American Soldier “ 🇺🇸
Brian Stann is the type of guy that gets the prettiest cheerleader, and you don’t even hate him for it. He gets her because he deserves it.
Why would we hate anyone for dating the prettiest cheerleader?
This is one of the best podcast episodes I've ever watched...and there are a lot of great ones.
Jocko and Stann for President
I really love watching this podcast with guests on. I can only get to so many with Jocko and Echo alone, but anytime I see another person I smash that button as fast as I can.
Admirable man what a great role model. Jocko you're killing it with these podcasts
just about every line is pure gold, thank you very much gentlemen
Absolutely awesome. USAF Vet here, currently working at VA and decentralized leadership is so important. Poor leaders clog the system.

Another incredible, positive podcast. Great job, guys!
Never knew Brian Stann was from my home of Scranton, PA... awesome!
Brodie McGrath yeah it’s weird. Wonder why our news stations/ papers never talked about Stann.....

Jocko for president!
Two warriors and tremendous leaders. Great stuff.
this podcast gives me so much value of lessons
Every time I see these videos I think about when I was in Ramadi (with the Marines in a weapons co. MAP platoon) working with the seals all the time.
Brian stann is such a class act. Goddamn he is such a good rep for America’s military.
I love the episodes with book reviews, but the guest appearances make each respective episode very special.
Jocko and Brian both have heads that are alpha ASF
I am proud to call men like this my fellow Americans! GOD BLESS AMERICA! 🇺🇸 💯
Wow what a great interview, great stories.
Jocko is a hero!
Inspirational dialog from heros. Good stuff!
Great podcast Jocko, awesome.....
I just have to say I absolutely love the time selections in the descriptions.
A while back i helped initiate a Twitter conversation between Jocko and Dan Carlin. That would be an epic podcast!!!
Oh hell yeah! What war or warrior would they break down?
That's a really good question. How about Rommel? I don't believe i have heard either talk in great detail about him. I know he was obviously a nazi but it seems even current soldiers hold him in pretty high regard for his tactics.
It is because he joined a plot to kill hitler i think, thats why some hold him in regard( ofc he was brilliant tactician)
Fassero sucks fuckin right it would be bad ass af
growing up as a child of divorce (4x)I can identify with Brian's comment about a lifelong quest to impress (no homo) older male figures in my life.I am in my 60's now and finally understand.
Favorite guest by far. I'm going to donate to gaurdianproject 100%
Something about Jocko reading these passages makes me choke up and I haven't even come close to being in the military.
Marine,UFC fighter,patriot, #America
great podcast as usual. Marcus luttrell should be a guest
Awesome Love this interview. I read Brian's book years ago and next to Robert Baer's "See No Evil" is one of my favorite non fiction military books.
Brian Stann is the fucking MAN!
Best thing on UA-cam
we need jocko to do readings. here is an excerpt from jocko
