You can just about kick those things as hard as you can and you will never stub your toe. It's so great.

Joko commentary is invaluable here. The one thing around 30:00 min in I noticed he mentions fighting with long sword and short sword. If I am not mistaken I think musahi original idea was to train with two long swords, one in each hand, so you can wield the long sword in both hand effortlessly in combat. Great book. Great commentary. Rock on.

Jocko, real yoga is not about making you good at martial arts. It is technology for self improvement from the inside out.

Yeah, Hagakure is a great book. But there's a one big problem: Yamamoto Tsunetomo never was in a battle or in fight or death duel. He had no credit to do some critisism he did in the book, for example critisism of 47 Ronin. He even did not commit seppuku although almost the whole book is about that. Still a great book about bushido to read. I've read it many times and it helps me a lot.

To your point about the panellists on a channel vs a podcast, i have gleaned more insight from this first hour of your discussion than i Ever have from Any news outlet irrespective of their side of the aisle. Great stuff watching a warrior dissect these writings with his life experience and perspectives
