Jodi Hildebrant disgusts me. I have ptsd from severe medical trauma that was outside of my control. The idea that someone like her especially who is a therapist tells people they have contol over their trauma is disgusting. As someone who grew up Mormon myself as well i find it all particularly disturbing and close to home. Unfortunately i think a lot of abuse goes unnoticed in Mormon communities because Mormons tend to try and ignore the evils happening right under their nose. I had a friend who went thru similar punishments like these poor kids including losing her bedroom as a punishment and it left her deeply traumatized. I hope Jodi and Ruby go to prison for a very longtime. Absolutely evil women.

The thing is mormons believe their version of god is loving and fair. But their god abuses his children, he abuses people and calls it love. So when they abuse their children they genuinely don't see it as abuse, they see it as fair and loving. They see themselves as someone who is becoming more like god, which is a major goal for most members, to become more like god... who in they see as perfect, just and loving... but is in fact an abusive narcissist.

I was born into mormonism and was raised by a narcissist much like Ruby and Jody. My narcissistic mother was also super homophobic, which trickled down to me. Please be careful stating Jodi was the puppet master over Ruby. Ruby was guilty of abuse prior to Jodi entering the picture. Ruby exploited her children for money and fame, shared their hardest moments for millions of people, withheld food as punishment, etc all before Jodi. I see a lot of people saying Jodi was the puppet master and yeah, Jodi definitely made things worse and was a horrible influence but Ruby was abusive all on her own.
I fear Ruby's lawyers will use this as an excuse to get Ruby less punishment / time in prison (that Jodi was a bad influence and Ruby was innocent beforehand). If too many people back up this online, her lawyers can even show the public supports this idea and potentially sway the jury. The public's opinion has more weight than it should with juries. Personally, I think we should be careful not to push this idea but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Ruby was exploitative and abusive from the start. Let's not forget that. The signs were always there.

But to be fair everyone likes to blame everything on politics nowadays rather than trying to fix anything. I’m sure if we sit here and cry about how shit politics are nowadays it’ll make the problem disappear.

TikTok didn’t make me gay, but it sure did give me a hell of a lot of cute boys to look at. I propagated my own “homosexual lifestyle” by being born gay, lol. Beast Boy from Teen Titans was my gay awakening as a kid, and that was many many years before TikTok existed. It’s also funny to hear this from Jodi, who’s known for separating women from their husbands and then forming strange relationships with said women. Maybe these two really are just business partners and maybe Jodi really is just Ruby’s cult leader, but.. People who have secrets tend to overcompensate to keep those secrets. Many homophobes and transphobes that I’ve known usually end up just being very closeted, brainwashed, or scared queer people. It’s sad, but I can’t feel bad for people as deranged as these two.
Edit for anyone still seeing this: Jodi’s niece, Jessi, spoke out against Jodi on Mormon Stories and they did mention how Jodi said a few things that implied that she could possibly have had or wanted relations with women. I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it, Jessi did a great thing for anyone who’s been abused in this way by sharing their experiences with their aunt and being open about what happened behind closed doors.

Most stake presidents and bishops (local leadership for their church) reach out to the church's legal team before reaching out to proper authorities. Often the church legal department advises them to deal with it in house because they believe Jesus's chosen leaders can heal abusers and the abused. These parents want to control their kid's sexuality, identity, beliefs, their entire life trajectory. Someone with a veil of credibility who tells them "you're right to be afraid" and "you're right to blame your lack of control on x outside influence and that justifies further isolating your child" is just telling them to give in to their need for control. To squash their children's individuality, their privacy, their dreams, etc. and brainwash them into being little religious robots.

I live in Oregon US, and I know a licensed clinical therapist who took advantage of a brain injured veteran, maxed out a bunch of credit cards in his name, leaving him in financial trouble, manipulated him emotionally to the point where he was losing everything, and ultimately he took his own life. Same therapist worked at a high school and got busted numerous times intoxicated on the job and driving drunk on her lunch. She did not belong around kids, as her first husband was a minor and she groomed him and got pregnant as an adult. Same therapist gave her daughter everything and treated her son like he wasn’t part of the family. He took his own life at age 20. Now she’s working as a counselor at a community college and a psych teacher. Nobody can stop her.
Therapists can be some of the worst, most messed up people out there and we don’t know until the damage is done.

This company had all new hires spend a week at their own “university” where we learned all facets of the business (mostly I learned why splitting your cable between many tvs made the reception fuzzy - paying for one line and then splitting over five tvs will do that lol), I was introduced to the Internet. I had never seen anything like before! It was marvellous. Exciting. Intriguing. I had no idea back then what the Internet would become. No one did. Makes me sad and enraged how far down the rabbit hole the Internet has taken all of us - any vice, you can find it. Any crazy idea you have, an audience can be found to absorb the content. Most, like this channel, are a great source of commentary on topical issues. But Jody & Ruby abusing kids in plain sight - it’s a WOW and I hope they get jail time. Their court case most likely available via live feed on the Internet. Love your channel 💕 keep up the good work 👍😊💕

I was born and raised in Utah for the beginning years of my life. Being rasied in the Mormon church was a bad experience for me being the fact that I was born out of wedlock and my home life wasn't the best. Even my own family members would call me a bastard child and tell me that I was going to hell (This was for as long as I could remember up until I moved out of state at 8yrs). Even moving states didn't help, unfortunately. Adults would tell their kids not to play with me and I was ostracized (Unless it was basketball season. Then they wanted to be my friend and include me with baskeball being a strong suit of mine). If you didn't have a cookie cutter life or were just a bit different, you were treated as inferior. A women in our ward divorced her husband because he was cheating on and abusing her. The church took HIS side and everyone turned their back on her because they had been married in the temple ( that's a "sacred" thing). So much messed up shit happens when it comes to the Mormon church and I agree that it's cult-like, definitely brain washing for sure.

I don't think tik tok makes you gay but I definitely think it makes young teens more curious about it and wondering where they might fit in or if they might be gay because they see it all over. The reason I say this is because it influenced my daughter and she went thru a "phase" a long with a bunch of her friends, I let her figure it out and she eventually realized that she wasn't but still believes she might be bi. I'm supportive of whatever she chooses is right for her.

This is true, this is the way to phrase what’s actually happening. Nothing can “make someone gay” like Jodi claims, but queer people are more likely to discover it sooner with the access of the internet. I’ve always been gay, I only ever had crushes on boys, but I didn’t have the language for it until I was around 12 and started learning more about the community. Before that I just thought I was broken, and that I’d have to live my life being unhappily forced into relationships with women. It was really comforting to learn that I didn’t have to do that. Most kids won’t question being queer if they’re not, and most kids who have a “phase” of something do end up being queer in one way or another. But, on the occasion that they do question it and end up being wrong, they’re still going to be perfectly fine at the end of the day. Jodi makes it seem like people are wrong for wanting to explore themselves, which just goes hand in hand with her cult leader BS.

I find it very interesting that these people are like "You need to practice abstinence, only have sex if you want a child" but they are also the type to say "Marital rape doesn't exist because it is your job as a women to fulfill your husband's sexual needs". So what is it do we only practice abstinence until we want a kid or do we fulfill our husband's sexual needs. Some couples have multiple children and no longer want/can afford any more, so are they supposed to just not have sex anymore. Is the wife no longer obligated to fulfill her husband's sexual needs, or are they supposed to just go into debt bringing more children and struggle to take care of all of their kids, especially in America where everything is incredibly expensive.
Edit: Not the most important/disgusting part of this but I feel other people have already addressed that and also just feel like its something worth pointing out and discussing.

The while situation in the US is scary in general. Literally, pick any damn topic, and there are terrifying things happening.
The medical and religious situations are, to me, the most terrifying, because yeah, Jodi is not a one off. There are quacks all over the place touting that sexuality is a choice and that people are broken for being not heterosexual, victim blaming, and basically telling people that your problems are due to your own negativity. The amount of times I've had to realize that the advice I've received is toxic positivity is disturbing.
Religion is no longer an opt-in thing, it's an opt-out thing, and you get SLAMMED to bits for not opting in. We have in the constitution freedom of religion, and people are forgetting that this includes freedom FROM religion. States like Utah have their religion so ingrained in their government via "representatives", it's become a safe haven for religious zealots and charlatans. It's so scary knowing that these are the lucky kids, because they have gotten out of this situation for the moment. There are so many more being abused that haven't been reached and are still suffering these cult delusions and abuse.
My country is a mess right now, man. This story is just a snapshot.

I have never understood how people think it’s a choice. I’m straight female and remember the first time I was physically attracted to a boy. He was what I was attracted to. I remember my heart beating faster when he walked into the room. I didn’t decide to be straight, I just was. Therefore, it never made sense to me that a person chooses to be gay or bi, they just are. Even if it was a choice, it is not her business to judge anyone or tell them how to live.

The truly horrifying fact is that the Bishops of the church frequently referred clients to her! Even though her license had been suspended, she had little, if any , ethics and there were numerous complaints etc. She developed a pattern of destroying marriages and convincing the female/wife to carry on with her in counseling any children. It was a desirable outcome for her narcissism. Get rid of the male and then the female will pledge allegiance to Jodi and then Jodi could control and manipulate her from that point forward. Absolutely disgusting that her license was never (and still hasn't been)) terminated completely!!!
